I make so many lists for packing. Love making lists. I don’t know how you leave your packing until the day you go, that would give me palpitations 😂 Hope you had a lovely time x
I love packing cubes for our family of four. They keep everything so organised and I’m that mum who colour coded them too! Haha! Then they each know where there stuff is without rifling through the whole bag!
I thought packing cubes wouldn't be up to much but oh my god they're amazing. Roll or Marie kondo everything, it's crazy how much space you save! And if you're not unpacking on holiday it keeps everything so organised x
Ooh amazin! I've just bought packing cubes they've not arrived yet but I hadn't realised they saved space too I thought they'd just be good to stay organised 👯♀️
I don't normally do packing cubes because i wanted to just do 1 per person different colours but I found the large ones too small for me and the hubby so this year I brought 3 different colour packing cube packs for the kids just using the large ones and the pouches that they come with and 2 of those www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Women-Nylon-Handbag-Travel-Bags-Waterproof-Folding-Large-Capacity-Bag-Luggage-AT/183640240796?hash=item2ac1cfb29c:m:mNmMIPJP6W70trjbd4zT9SQ&redirect=mobile in 2'different colours for me and the hubby
Not used the packing cubes but I did use the vacuum bags (the ones you just roll the air out of) and they were great! We went to Cyprus for 10 days with just hand luggage and that included kids teddies (which looked like road kill in the bags 😮), beach towels, my bag of tricks for plane and dvd players (obviously not vacuum packed!). Made the airport a dream!!! x
Growing my mom used to make me pack in outfits & I actually found it stressful. As an adult, I pack all neutral clothing (with the occasional jazzy top or skirt) so I can mix & match throughout the trip. No stress of “I want to wear Tuesday’s top with Thursday’s pants on Wednesday, but Thursday’s top doesn’t match Tuesday’s bottoms..???” 😂 Great video, thanks for sharing! I love spending my Sunday mornings with you and Louise Pentland!
Love, love packing cubes. TBH it can feel like you're packing twice at the start BUT fantastic when you get there and just plop them in drawers. Happy travels x
I like the packing cubes for organizing clothes. Either each one is an outfit, or a type of clothing (tops/bottoms/etc), depending on length of trip. The cubes do squish a bit tighter, so I can pack a few more items, but mostly it’s easier to pack squares and rectangles rather than a ton of odd shapes.
Omg the packing cells are worth it! My husband and I lived out of them for 2 months as we trekked over Europe and now that we have a child they are even better (why do you always need to pack so much more for children?!). Everyone has a different colour, which means even if you have to share a suitcase with someone, you know where your shiv is, and I have a large different coloured one for the dirty laundry. They are a logistical lifesaver!
@@brummymummyof2 I got mine in NZ from Kathmandu when they had a 3 for 2 or buy one get one free. The large and medium sizes are decent and they are really durable.
Kids are grown up now so only pack for 2 but we used to do very similar to you. Now I pack my slow cooker as well as a sharp knife (never get a good one on hols!) mug, hubs huge cereal bowl and my ceramic frying pan! Why do cottages never have non stick?!
Thabks for this video! We are a family of three traveling from canada to Somerset uk in the next few weeks. We are taking carry on luggage only, which has been so much easier than expected. I am limiting my daughter to one toy, one colouring book with markers,a tablet with headphones and thats about it. We are also limited to two pairs of shoes each (trainers and flipflops) and 7 outfits (10 undies and 7 socks)and 2 PJs. We will wash as we need to and buy if we need to. I'm channeling my minimalist self 😋 enjoy your getaway!
Yes to the packing cubes, I got mine from a site called YesStyle but i'm sure there will be some on Amazon and you get them in multi packs of different sizes including little pouches
At what age do you think you’ll let the kids do all their own packing? I think it would be fun to see what they would like to bring on holiday. Like, will Ethan remember to pack enough shirts? Will Erin only pack dresses?
Hi Emma I go to Haven too and when I pack I make sure I have a day outfit and an evening outfit I love your idea of a medicine bag usually I just put stuff like that in the toiletries bag xxx
I totally agree with you Emma xx My mum went to haven when she was a child with her aunt and dad and then my mum and dad has been taking me and my two sisters to haven since we were kids. Then my boyfriend and I have been to haven 3 times since we have been together xx so it’s been a family thing really xx
I have passive anxiety for you packing the day you go away. I'm definitely a pack 2 months..yes months before kinda girl 😂 I always have nightmares before I got away where I have forgotten to pack something so being prepared is necessary.
Thought I was pretty good at packing HOWEVER having children has messed my brain for ever more and I forget random things - I am packing for camping today and I shall now pack by outfit thanks to Emma's tip! #forthepackingwin
