Hey Emma, great to see you building Erin,s independence. Suggest you get her to write the list first ( then you check it through with her) this promotes her thinking/ planning skills as well as practical packing skills. Hope this helps, feel free to ignore as I respect you are the Mom. Love your vlogs,.
Morning Emma, & everyone! Stationery for Senior/High School - save your money, they don't need a lot. All they need is 2 pens, a pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener, ruler (get a folding one!), notebook, calculator & pencil case. (For exams, they will need a clear pencil case - keep that in mind for the future, Tesco sell them for £1). Packing Cubes are a great idea for "suitcase sharing". As you said, colour coded/different pattern each person. We split our items between cases just incase anyone's luggage is lost/delayed (yes, it has happened to us 😂), that way everybody has something to wear. Have a lovely holiday and social media break x
I wish that's all I needed when I was at secondary/senior school and I wasn't even at a private school or anything. For year 7 my mum and I had to buy multiple pens and pencils, a maths set, a scientific calculator, highlighters for our English, coloured pencils for art because we needed specific ones the school wouldn't buy in as well as a French, German and Spanish dictionary. We also were mandated to have a different colour or style of pencil case for every year
Honestly for school I always just got some basic notebooks, pens, and pencils, and then waited to see whatever the teachers said we would need. Saves a lot of overbuying even if you can't get everything on super sale.
Took me back to the days when my son was younger and it was always new pants and white trainer socks were bought for holidays. Hope you all have a fab time xx
I am just starting packing we go away in 2 weeks. I pack space stuff always. I need to clean house before I go away. Brilliant video have a lovely time
I use the scalp protector and find it makes my hair feel really greasy, though does stop my scalp from burning. I use the roll on SPF 50 on my Chest and tops of arms and it works really well. Have a fab holiday
Emma could you let us know what the scalp spray is like? As a ginger I need it in my life but worried it will make my scalp all greasy!! Have a fab hols! 😊
Emma you can get those felts on a ring on Amazon, they’re brilliant, the lids are on the ring and ku can clip the ring onto the back of headrests and different places. They do a small pack and an 18 pack xx
I always pack multiple extra pants, you just never know! and I have also forgotten to pack any for myself and the kids before too, mad dash to the nearest supermarket to get some 🤣
Love stationary!! Always have even as a kid. Paper chase is wonderful, but maybe also explore Tiger/Flying Tiger? I lived in Asia as a child, so loved all the Japanese stationary bits as well! I also really like MUJI, but that may be for older kids. I still write with different color pens 🤪!!
Yay its always fun to see what you pack and I'm excited to see the holiday vlogs. I always find the difference between words in countries is so interesting. I believe what you call a chemist we call them a pharmacist.
I used the garnier over makeup spray on my trip to Florida in May, it’s really really good but if you face gets wet or a little sweaty and it runs into your eyes… let me tell you it stings.
Wear a tee shirt over your swimsuit in the water along with your sunscreen , hat and sunglasses. I am super fair and burn too and get burned easily. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen on tops of ears, back of neck and shoulders and the bits around the arm holes of the swim suit that are always super fair and get fried. But the thing I learned growing up in Florida was just default to a tee shirt. And if you are sitting in sun, cover yourself legs with a thin scarf and be sure the tops of knees and feet get sunscreen. Nothing worse than burned feet and trying to wear sandals. Lol Use sunscreen as part of your get ready for the day. They sell lower factor in makeup and then the heavier stuff but there are some less oily or waxy residue. As you are so fair, use the ones with zinc oxide on your face. You don’t need skin cancer later. I love the trial sized minis too. They are fun but sometimes hard to get the product out of if it’s a crappy bottle. They sell the silicone tubes now that you can fill and are super easy to squeeze out each last drop. If you don’t wear a hat but are in the sun, apply some sunscreen to your hair part and Erin’s also. It feels gross fo wear it but sunburn and later skin biopsies and treatment is more of a pain. Not sure if you need mosquito repellant and the bug bite treatment. Those are helpful if you and the fam get mozzy bites. Have an excellent holiday!!
We just had our annual trip to the US to see my family. We were gone a month and I left packing until the morning of 😭 definitely not my norm, but life snuck up on me. I feel the panic, know you aren't alone.
Always pack at least a couple of spare pairs of pants each! No idea why really but just in case!😂 Having a lovely pool holiday myself this week and it is so nice to be relaxing in the sun after so long. I always do all the packing but my daughter chooses all her outfits and I just pack them for her. Have a lovely holiday.
Do you decant the family shower gel for getting through security? Always assumed every thing had to be under 100ml. Would make life much easier if could pack family size
Love these videos! I have always packed so many spare pairs of pants and socks, even when I know we have a washing machine or sink to wash them in!🤣 I now do the same for my kiddos! I never knew you could take snacks on the plane! I always thought you had to buy stuff in the airport!
Hiya packing stresses me out I sit there staring at the suitcases. My daughters are very organized when packing for holidays. For Ethan and Erin's felt tips you could store them in a water bottle and then that way you have a bottle to use on holiday as well. Dont forget your inhalers and the prescription there written on for going through security. Have a lovely holiday 😎😎
I always pack an extra few pairs of underwear aswell and an extra outfit or two just incase we get stuck somewhere for an extra day or two am glad am not the only one that does it xx
Panic packing is my only form of packing. I make lists weeks in advance, I wash everything and set it aside days in advance, and inevitably the night before I'm up until 3am trying to do it all. Having kids pack for themselves is a great idea! My mum used to pack for all my school camps and would REFUSE to let me do it resulting in a 9 year old me not being able to pick up a duffle bag bigger than I was for a 2 night camp. If the list said 3-5 tops, I had 8-10. Yeah you can see why I have lists in advance - it's my way of narrowing things down to only the essentials.
Do you put any clothes in your carry on bag. I always have a mini great attack that my bag gets lost do take one outfit and few undies. PS thanks for keeping me company I've COVID at the the minute
Hey Emma 😃love your content but have a genuine question have you ever done a no spend month? I love you hauls but always think gosh how does she fit it all in her home? I hope that doesn’t come of rude I’m just interested to know? 😃
@@brummymummyof2 Thanks for the reply. That’s great and why not when you can afford to. 😀 looking forward to seeing your holiday enjoy every minute and have a lovely day? 😃❤️
I know why you were frazzled, forgot your sandals and belts. In your head you were probably thinking, it's only a beach/pool holiday, we won't need much. So you delayed the packing. I've done it myself 😏
I’ll tell you something controversial. I used to dress my kids in their comfy travel clothes for bed the night before!!! Get up, clean teeth and in the car.

Calpol 6+ fast melts are brilliant, I always carry a couple in my handbag. They come in tear of strips and they melt in about 10 seconds.
