    Regarding leaks: A leaky production is often a discontent production. The fact that P3 was " leak- free" speaks to how well this season was produced.

    1 hr 22 min - fascinating hearing how the different shots are laid out and how difficult that is. Great job Robert and Matt laying that out, don't think i've ever heard that articulated like that before. @popcast you should pull that segment out as its own video clip

    Re: The inquiry about scriptwriting books... J. Michael Straczynski published a hard cover book titled "The Complete Book of Scriptwriting" back in the mid 90s. It was revised by JMS and republished by Writers Digest Books as a trade paperback in 2002. It's still in print and it's a highly recommended book.

    I love the cliff hangers at the end of the episodes. I get so excited I cant wait for the next episode! I have not looked forward to a new episode of anything in a long long time. Since legacy days? I really love the acting and writing. You all discussed metrics that could help the decision making to have more Matalas trek. What about you tube views? Have your views gone up in regards to picard season 3? ? I have not watched this much youtube about trek ever.

    I am constantly happy that there are people working on season 3 that rekindled my love of TNG and Trek after I dropped all Trek after watching Discovery (2 seasons) and Picard (1 season) If this season finishes up as well as it started I will be content with a proper ending for TNG and hopefully if there are more stories to tell (Sisko/DS9) then it has to be Matalas and his crew

    I actually got Ro returning spoiled for me in a weird way ...
    About 6 weeks ago I typed a comment under a random youtube video that featured Ro in an old TNG episode, and another user also typed a comment saying he was friends with Forbes and she "wasn't done with Trek" ... I clicked on his name and he had a youtube page featuring Yoga videos and spiritual healing stuff. A couple of us left very excited replies, and shortly afterwards he deleted his comment.
    Thankfully his slip went unnoticed by the masses ... and I'm assuming they are still friends.

    For that one fraction of a second, you were open to options you had never considered. *That* is the exploration that awaits you. Not mapping stars and studying nebulae, but charting the unknown possibilities of existence. - Q
    Picard may end up being a Q. As Q said and as we have seen. Picard has been taken to his own life in another timeline, Been a Borg, lived the live of a guy on another planet. lived 3 timelines at the same time. Live in yet another timeline in the latest series. Is now a synth. Where as its usually a recruit then train , maybe Picard is being trained then will be invited to the continuum.

Then everyone decides to put on a thumbnail that absolutely spoils the whole new episode and this happenes a lot unfortunately because of youtube recommendations.

    I will say that after this episode I went back and watched the episode Preemptive Strike again to refresh my memory, I will just say, I obviously didn't know what gaslighting and force manipulation was when i was 14, Picard does both, if swearing was in the TNG Era this one would have been loaded. And knowing she sacrifices herself.....

    I disagree that spoilers come from a desire to want to know more than others. Yes, for the assholes. But for the most part, I think it comes from a desire to share a connection. We're seeing this in the Critical Role fandom. There are a lot of new fans who have come on thanks to their animated series The Legend of Vox Machina (which fun fact, is animated by the same studio that animates Lower Decks). But I haven't seen anyone posting spoilers, despite the fact that anyone who knows the campaign already knows what will happen in the series. Us long-term fans are enjoying watching people who are seeing this story for the first time. For the most part, the only spoilers I've ever seen for any franchise tend to be from people who are just excited to talk about what they've seen with other fans.

    • @Robman0908
      @Robman0908 Год назад +1

      With this in particular, Trek fans have alot of things they would like to see and “spoilers” alleviate an amount of anxiety. They want to see Data back and the return of the Enterprise and the heroes to have their “second star to the right” ending.
      Just anxiety more than a need to be an ass

    There is good to great Star Trek as well as the bad to mediocre, as everyone knows. Then there are also interpretations that simply should be discarded since they are abysmal failures. This is even true with episodes in TOS. Now there are entire series that fit that category. There isn't a "Star Trek" for everyone one or else everything can be Star Trek even iterations that completely contradict Roddenberry's vision of a postive future for all, where humanity is flourishing, not only economically but morally. We finally have Star Trek back with "Picard" season 3. The very fact that Terry Matalas, Todd Stashwick, and Matt Okumura come on to RUclips channels to talk directly to fans demonstrates their confidence in what they have created as well as their respect for Star Trek fans. They also don't have to declare that they are fans since it is clear it what they have made. More Terry Trek!

    I understand that Matt Okumura couldn't say anything negative about Discovery or any of the other nu-Trek, but come on now... a Trek for everyone? That's dodging the question of nu-Trek's BAD WRITING and LACK OF UNDERSTANDING OF BASIC SCIENCE.

  • @TGTK-FreeSpeech-
    @TGTK-FreeSpeech- Год назад +1

    I heard a ton of people I trust who correctly called out the faults of NuTrek like Discovery give Picard season 3 glowing reviews.
    This got me hyped. It was more hyped I had been for anything in a decade. Then I saw espisode 1. It was a polished turd. Episode 2. Even worse. Episode 3, much better, just like Episode 4. Then Episode 5, back to among the worst of season 3.
    This is not Star Trek. This is NuTrek.
    Picard season 3 is like the JJ Trek movies. Stuff happens just so they can further the plot. They skip over the fact that this stuff should actually make sense.
    There's too much 21st century drama. The intellectualism that was once pervasive in Trek remains almost totally absent.
    Man I'd love to have good Trek again, but this just isn't it.
