I liked Jonathan Frakes' comment that Star Trek has affected many fans in significant ways . It certainly does that for both my husband and me. In the past few difficult years where we've watched rising fascism in the US (and elsewhere) as well as the isolation of Covid19, watching a show daily that extols cooperation, education, excellence and camaraderie has been a soothing balm on our spirits.

You know what really frustrates me. The actors are great and all but what made THEM inspirational was the “Writers” they are the ones that put together great stories. The writes from TNG, Voyager, and etc. People worship the actors as if they are the ones that created the story. Anyways, I’m definitely excited about all of this. Now let’s make that last TNG movie!

You know during an interview for a job in a restaurant I was asked what is the most important role. My answer surprised the interviewer. I said there isn't one position more or less important than the others. It is a team effort. Take one component out and it all falls apart. This would seem to translate to any endeavor that involves a group of people. Without the writers yes there is no story but without the actors you have a story in a book. There are so many that could be called unsung heroes of the trek universe. You are right in that the actors whom we see get all of the adulation. For me the most unsung hero of the trek universe are the ships and technology. So much of which have entered our daily lives seemingly unnoticed. Star trek inspired imagination and innovation. That to me is the show's greatest legacy.

I think most people have come to realize that writers were the key elements of what made Star Trek what it was - not the actors. That's why most of the new ST shows are horrible, regardless of what acting talent they are able to attract. The writers of old are gone - or are not being paid enough to show up - or are unwilling to go along with the new 'message' that is being pushed by the producers.

I just want one line somewhere in Star Trek Picard Season 3 where someone asks Geordi something, and he stops what he's doing and very kindly walks over to someone with a manual in hand and says, "Take a look, ensign so and so, its in the book..." gives them a pat on the back and goes back to what he was doing. I can tell you surely if I was in the writer's room, the ability to resist doing this would not have been within me.

It could work. They could even rebuild the Ent D set and other sets in a more modern way that tells the audience that 25 years really had passed since the present timeline of All Good Things. Then they could reinsert the scenes into the footage of the episode involving the past and present scenes.
The original episode is perfect but I'd actually think this new hypothetical episode could be even better with the actors now all old enough to play the future version of the characters.

This is not Star Trek . This is a ridiculous mutation. A travesty and an aberration of Gene Roddenberry's creation. What a disgrace.

The only saving grace we have is Star Trek Prodigy, as the Hageman brothers seem to be carrying the spiritual torch of Gene’s vision with that show. Please give it a chance as it’s an incredible show and has the positive timeline message Trek always had. Having finished season 1, it’s not only broken the “first season curse” but also is finally the Star Trek Renaissance we have all been waiting for since Enterprise ended. As an astrologer it’s all thanks to the Saturn in Aquarius energy we’ve had the past 2 year. Also, people like the Hageman bros who want to honor Gene Roddenberry and the previous canon before it

Kurtzman is a bad producer and showrunner, lying and he destroyed Trek together with his buddy Abrams. Season 3 needs to fail, sadly, but #FireKurtzman Trek has to end.

Strange New Worlds is actually very decent and Picard Season 3 is at least digestible unliked Seasons 1 & 2

@@brassholio No, this isn’t March-April 2020. This is almost 2023. The data, case numbers, and vaccination availability has all changed. This behavior has nothing to do with COVID but more with deeply rooted psychological issues that should be aggressively treated by a full panel of mental health professionals.
