There’s definitely less extensions available than chrome but honestly I’ve been able to find everything I need. Got an adblocker, newsfeed eradicator, UnTrap for RUclips and BTTV for twitch. Not really sure what else I need, and I get peace of mind knowing the big G isn’t watching everything I do
@@BruceLee-x6g There is a 'Adblock Pro extension 🚫' with this sign. it works great. But Chrome is more snappier. I shift to ARC browser and haven't looked back. ORION is a great alternative of Safari (almost same battery life). Has evrything that safari has. Also supports Chrome and FIrefox extensions (enable it in the settings). But Animations of going back and forward in the pages is slow for me, personally. So, I have shifted to ARC.
I'm a common user of safari browser and I'm a software developer also. I've noticed people who clam chrome is better than safari just for the extensions and that's not true. If you pay attention how many extensions you constantly use or how many time you use it you will notice that only for an adblocker, you don't need pretty much the extensions. My only concern about safari is the position of the tab. I feel less intuitive having above the main bar instead of upon it.
Yeah I too. As it has all the features of chrome and plus with extra efficiency. Vertical tabs and Immersive reading mode are the best features of edge that browser should have.
It's like how Samsung Browser is better than Chrome in android without being a third party app but you can't have the sync feature between Edge and Samsung Internet, so Chrome is good for both desktop and smartphone (Edge smartphone browser can never be as good as a browser made by arguably best smartphone company alongside Apple). Besides I've this feeling that Google search engine works best with Chrome even better than the official android Google app.
Agreed, I love the simple UI. I also love that you can hide literally everything on your start page, so when I open a new tab it just looks like a blank translucent window. Love it.
I'm guessing Chrome feels faster becuase it's predicting what you're typing and prefetching that page more aggressively and spending power doing that, while what Apple is talking about is loaded post network engine speed
Not like that. Chrome is actually more performant because of its compatibility with the web technology. Every web developer knows how bad edge are supporting web technologies. You can test it yourself. Try opening 25-30 youtube video playing tab on chrome and then do the same on safari. You will see safari using much more ram and cpu.
The feeling of using safari with Apple devices is way better than chrome, however you can still access Google easily with it, so safari is always my #1 option
On the subject of Safari's optimization, I think it's often mininterpreted in the current market to only mean speed above everything else. When compared to Chrome, at least in my experience, far less memory and power are used for visually identical if not nearly identical speed. Seems similar to Edge Chromium on Windows, which still can seem less fast than Chrome at times but is far superior in resource management.
safari desktop version is my worst nightmare, i really like the ui of safari but i'm facing a lot of problems since macOS monterey i give a chance of one week but maaan i suffer from the slow experience it takes more time to load youtube video and pages compared to chrome don't know why exactly that happens for 3 major updates of masOS without getting a fix but now after sonoma ans safari 17 i leave it again wishing they can fix it in the near future
Safari is so enticing with the Apple Ecosystem, but I am currently really enjoying Brave. The only major bug that I have found is that sometimes Brave just stops displaying the page and I need to restart the browser.
I've been enjoying Brave too! I find that it's been more buggy lately though. I've had to go to Chrome more often to load pages that don't load right in Brave. I really want to like Safari, but I'm not sure it will ever be a fit for my use cases.
One thing that bugs me about Safari is how the search bar errors out like a third of the things I search. For example If I accidentally throw a period in the search, it'll think it's a URL and fail, instead of it being a Google search. If I try to search some long query, it'll also fail for no reason. Safari on mobile doesn't even do that, just desktop. Off topic: Our "recently uploaded" at 0:13 looks VERY similar. Are you, me? 😂
performance is not just a matter of seconds. Try for example to scroll on RUclips with chrome and then with Safari, you will see an obvious evidence! Safari is very smooth, chrome not really
On the contrary, my friend, it is more smooth to browse RUclips with Chrome on a computer with an M1 chip. safari loads youtube videos slowly and not every web page works properly. Safari is much slower than the Chrome browser in every sense. The only problem with Chrome is that it consumes a lot of CPU and RAM, especially when watching videos. But overall it's still better than safari.
Lack of Extension is the only thing stoppping me from switching to SAFARI completely. Tackle this issue and I would love to use safari.
I love safari but the extensions 😒

same with me. Safari lack extension. Specially RUclips Ad Blocker

@@BruceLee-x6g There is AdGuard. This Safari extension blocks RUclips ads for me + its free
This is an excellent, unbiased review. The Ecosystem and privacy features make Safari my day to day choice.

I love safari Ui. It’s clean and simple. I wish other browsers copied the Ui. Especially the iOS version
Totally, i don’t understand why he would feel like it‘s confusing?! It is literally the cleanest and most straightforward UI I have seen in a while.

Is there a way to export chrome to safari, ON IPHONE?? (No pc pls)

You should give Orion a try. It's made with Safari's webkit but supports chrome and firefox extensions!
I’m happy with my Firefox, it has been so reliable for my privacy. I have seen so many ads not related to what I have searched. 💪🏻

Sorry im web3 developer and Safari is not really an option right now
Understandable! Safari is pretty niche with its use cases.
web 3 ! the scammers

should I use both? like I have multiple screens, I could just use both

Safari is my browser of choice, but I never use it on my Mac, solely because of the lack of extensions

Brave Browser for the win

safari doesnt have a password manager
