    This is a design that I believe is going to cross over a few different categories and appeal to a wide audience. The Nimbus W11 will sleep the whole family, she'll belt along at over 40kts and she'll comfortably entertain a large group for the day while carrying water toys with ease.
    This is a boat that lens itself to solo operation with minimal experience and she transforms into a very comfortable platform when at rest.
    If you had a larger sports yacht, sports cruiser or SUV style vessel in mind then this W11 is worthy of your attention because it might just be a cheaper and better alternative depending on the mission you had in mind for the next boat.
    It's not perfect and that beautiful big swim platform out the back does change the centre of gravity a bit. But depending on what you need I can see this W11 coming out on top in a lot of situations.
    Enjoy

    We have a W11 and it has been great so far. We do not have the rear platform - I think it is worth noting that it is an option! After looking at all of the producers of adventure boats we found that the W11 had the highest build quality and the best floor plan out of the bunch. At least for our purposes. Also, with the generator, gyro, Merc 400’s, and hydraulic platform on the aft I imagine that is about as far aft CG as you can spec for a W11. We have the generator and Mercury 300’s and our boat is quite balanced. Great review as always Dan. Cheers!

      Hows your performance with the 300s? We have a W11 with 300s and we're starting to suspect they may be a little underpowered for the boat, and we may have been better off with the 400s.

    The only thing that's bugging me is the windscreen. Can we get that fully enclosed as an option? I've been waiting for an outboard swim platform like this, game changer!

    I agree with sentiment presented here to include Axopar and so many others with plum bow, huge bow opening at the top, reverse chines, step hull which taken together holistically is an amazing and obvious improvement to the entire Boating design and experience so remarkable to see the rest of so called *"traditional boat designs"* still not even paying attention to this even though Boston Whaler laid out the basic idea of this going on 60 Years ago and still remains the only boat hull to have ever retained its value at all *PERIOD* with i think their SeaRay product now at last following along in that actually but yes these current examples are for the first time doing it right making a fool out of anyone who bought into the usual traditional worthless type.

    I’d like a closed cabin version of the W. The C11 is a touch sparse in the cockpit for entertaining-obviously by design. So I’m caught between a W and C. Wellcraft 435 is big and out of my price range tho I like the living accommodation. 355 might work but I prefer the layout and features of the W. It seems craftsmanship separates Nimbus from its competitors. Come test boats on the US Pacific Coast-would appreciate your perspective on what works out here. From SoCal up to Vancouver.

    I'd have to really not like someone to ask them to sleep in that second birth. Other than that seems a nice boat but i'd choose an axopar with rear cabin over this any day.

  • @jem8794
    @jem8794 2 месяца назад +10

    I don’t agree with your assessment. For the price they ask (from 1.1 AUS), and being a new design, I do expect:
    - to have a separate shower
    - the second accommodation is a joke. A cave nice for kids but not for adults.
    - The passage to the bow on the port side is not optimal, to say the least
    In any case, I want to thank you for recording, editing and uploading the video. I do see and value your effort. THAHK YOU

    Very first thought was dam that's a big boat with a shallow draft to be able to come all the way up on shore like that. I think Galeon 400 is probably a direct competitor to this. I think this would be good for going up on beaches and shallows. Galeon or any others are good for floating in the bay.

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife

    Nice video and presentation. Thank you Dan. Nice features side terrace, hi-lo rear platform, multi position bow lounge, V10 Mercury and high quality. Not so impressive wasted space at the bow with storage instead of a seating arrangement like T11, wet head, inadequate second cabin and lack of proper rear sun lounge for a 40 footer.

    Possibly a dumb question, but I'm a newbie to buying boats.
    That adjustable swim platform are there aftermarket companies that could make THAT on a Saxdor 400 ?
    Love your channel , just joined your Partreon , great work 👍

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  2 месяца назад +2

      That is an aftermarket product however installation would be too complicated to install on a 400GTO. Also it’s too light to accomodate the weight on that platform out back. The Nimbus is a bigger more substantial boat so you can hang more weight aft. However it’s still noticeable and I show this in the next video.
      No such thing as a dumb question - all good 👍

    After Dan's Nimbus W9 review, I took a good look and was really impressed by the Nimbus fit & finish. Hallberg Rassy level, if you're a sailor. Alas, Nimbus' U.S. aspirational pricing leaves us financial mere mortals looking elsewhere. Such a shame (not to be rich...).

    This particular boat is not working for me. Two big "no's" for me is the head/shower combo. Nope, never gonna have it. The other is that unbelievable rear 'cabin's' bed. I can only imagine trying to make the bed with all that entails. Two couples? No getting 'randy' in that berth unless they're stick people.
    Cockpit: All chopped up with different heights. I didn't see any sunshade? Again, no TV in cockpit? I feel claustrophobic
    just looking at this. Feels like guests would be squeezing by each other all the time.
    Cabin has no use for anything but sleeping or using the head. No seating but for the rather random seat. Odd.
    I hate to be so negative, because I rarely am. Sometimes I just feel frustrated by certain boat designs, and this is just one of them.
