    It’s a great boat, Almost pulled the trigger. Other shoppers might want to note that the “berth” to which the dinette converts is exceptionally short. Anyone larger than a moderately sized adolescent will not fit. Was one of the main reasons we had to cut it. Nimbus is a fantastic builder and this model is amazing.

    Amazing commuter / family fishing day boat.
    I would like the galley ceiling height to be taller though. I'm 6' 1", and that's without shoes on. They're plenty of other men taller then me, and I wouldn't want any friends feeling uncomfortable because they would have to stoop down.
    But that aside, Amazing commuter boat. God bless you all boat test crew. Great work as usual. Well done.

    I am always surprised that the pass-thru height is not mentioned in your tests. In my country (with thousands of low bridges) absolutely necessary knowledge. Aside that, great video: THANKS

      According to the information on the Nimbus dot se website, the C11 has an air draft of 3.75m or 12'3"

      @makker0082 3 года назад

      @@michiganengineer8621 Thanks for that, I tried to find it on the English version and could not find it. Almost 4 meters, that is very high. For Amsterdam, that means you can not get into the canals. THANKS, much appreciated.

      If flipping the lanthern you could get it down to 3,25m but that would requier customisation of the radar construction. Flipping just above the radar. Im going to try to do that on my C11

    It looks similar to an Axopar, nice looking boat.

    • @oneslackr
      @oneslackr 3 года назад +1

      Very similar. Nimbus are built in Sweden. Though I think the Axopar features/layouts are just a bit better.

    • @warior

      I think the axopar and C11 differs alot. Just in shere size, the C11 is much bigger.

    • @michiganengineer8621

      You could probably get one mounted in that storage area where the inboards would be. Not sure if the SK3 would have enough torque to completely stabilize a 40 footer though.

      Generator will be needed

    • @michiganengineer8621
      @michiganengineer8621 3 года назад

      @@shurikkouzmine8399 The SK3 runs on 12VDC so you wouldn't _need_ a generator. You would need a good sized battery bank however and some way to keep the bank charged. The outboard alternators would do quite a bit towards that and if you were to add solar panels you would probably be good.

    • @shurikkouzmine8399
      @shurikkouzmine8399 3 года назад

      @@michiganengineer8621 Solar panels?😀 Really?😀 SK3 Operating Power 750 Watts/hr

    • @michiganengineer8621
      @michiganengineer8621 3 года назад +3

      @@shurikkouzmine8399 Seakeeper _claims_ the SK3 will work from battery banks. On the roof of the Nimbus it looks like there is enough room for 2 full size panels, those are now available at over 400W each, remember you would also have the alternator output (whatever that is with the Cox engines) from the outboards while underway. As far as the battery bank is concerned, it depends on how much of that space you want to dedicate to it and how deep your pockets are. My point was that it _COULD_ be done without a standalone generator. Adding a small diesel generator would probably be cheaper in the short term.

    You know they had to add the safety lanyard on the aft control station because that step right there can cause you to fall overboard.

    • @PhilbyFavourites
      @PhilbyFavourites 3 года назад +1

      Not so I’m afraid.
      All European vessels must have a kill cord fitted at a helm station. The aft station hits that category.
      Males of a certain disposition tend not to wear them. Look up the “Milligan Rib Accident Padstow UK). That will give you all the detail as to why you should wear a kill cord. It’s no effort or hardship - and it does save lives. I’ll stop preaching now lol.

    I'm sensing a bit of Axopar DNA in this one...almost like Nimbus is trying to be the higher-trim version?
