Blue Bear visits La Mesa Elementary Reading Program

The future of our children depends on them learning the fundamentals of reading and reading comprehension. To celebrate literacy and encourage children to keep reading, Blue Bear visited kindergarten students at La Mesa Elementary School during Literacy Week. Teachers read books to the students and Blue Bear during the day. Community outreach with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico talked with the children about how important it is to keep learning. BCBSNM has partnered with the Albuquerque school to educate children and teach the value of literacy education. Through this partnership, elementary students are learning they can achieve their goals by studying hard and staying in school.
