      @@Spinosaurus44 Surprisingly few, considering the setting... if we're really just counting cutscenes, off the top of my head, he only kills that one soldier during the infection scan, the two hunters from David's group, the firefly who holds him at gunpoint, and lastly Marlene. He most likely kills the hunter he runs over during the ambush. That's just six people.
      The bodycount rises slightly if we count QTEs (the sniper hunter, the hunter in the University), and the murders he's an accessory to (Robert, the ambushing hunter in the hotel). That's ten total, still not that many, and some of them were in actual self defense.
      There's a few situations in which you're pressed to kill certain enemies to get through a certain area (like the hunter at the library exit, the ones who guard the gate that leads outside of Pittsburgh or the three Fireflies who lie in ambush right before the corridor that leads to the operating room), but you can use smoke bombs and escape without killing them most of the time.
      The more I think about it, the more I realize you actually "have" to kill surprisingly few people, the keyword being technically.

    • @Spinosaurus44
      @Spinosaurus44 Год назад +7

      @@ajeje1996 still, the game making you kill more than 10 people is not really taking the peaceful path. You’re not wrong I guess it does seem too few when you think about video games, but I also find it somewhat strange how video games and movies how desensitized us all to so much killing that it has begun to lose its shock or significance to us. My man kills a lot of people throughout this game if you play normally without trying very hard to take the peaceful path, because the game usually puts you in situations where it’s easier to kill everyone rather than sneak by them, and most of us just shrug off all of this killing by the main characters of video games as justified. Imagine if you meet someone in real life who’s killed more than 10 people.

    The thing that seems so dumb about this game's story, these survivors are spending so many resources trying to kill you. All the ammo and lives they waste running around, chasing after you, and for what? Whatever these two random people might have in their pockets? And where the hell do they get the fuel for the HumVee? It's been 20 years since there have been gas stations and fuel refineries, gasoline doesn't last forever. Also, I feel bad for that poor horse. It's carrying two people across hundreds and hundreds of miles all by itself--horses don't have infinite stamina, you can't ride one all day every day and expect it to live very long.

      As someone with grandparents that raised prize racing horses:
      Horses can DEFINATELY carry two people for an indeterminate amount of time if it's at a slower, steady pace and is taken care of and fed properly. And you can surely ride one all day, you would have to give it a 15 minute respite every few hours, but you could do it easily especially since the 2nd person is a child, and a skinny one at that. Regardless of if it has two riders or not though, Horses can't full gallop for more than 20 minutes on average with any burden, if you forced it to gallop repeatedly it could definitely die after awhile, but Horses are also smarter than you're giving them credit for, as usually once they reach their limit they will refuse to go anymore. Don't underestimate Horses man, there's a reason they were the main method of personal transportation for the majority of human history after their domestication.

Even if it was just Joel and Ellie getting bored, arguing about the truth, then going on an adventure to some former military base where they have the ability to extract a fungus sample with a standard non lethal surgery like basic biopsy of a brain tumor... Then maybe the adventures whenever the people in charge find out that this cure works but want to be the limited distributor... Or find out it doesn't work but want to sell the world on a cure to clear out areas they want to overtake... I mean basically it could be any scenario and still be acceptable as long as Ellie or Joel weren't immediately killed by a they/them adolescent female who was on some kind of testosterone and trenbolone fueled rampage... Some kind of bacteria in the blood or maybe they spout different stuff from their mouth like in Cargo or that one movie with the black goo that comes out of the zombies mouths.
    Ellie biting the creep and telling him he was infected was more than likely just Ellie tricking him.
    I don't think of she was only immune then she could infect others. That could only happen if she was a carrier really. Not showing symptoms but infectious. But if that's the case Dina would definitely be infected from kissing her, but Dina is fine even a year after.

      An old type of medieval longbow can have a very high draw weight, 160 lbs for example. But those were for war and meant to pierce armor, against soft targets (hunting) draw weights are typically between 40-70 lbs. But death by arrow shot is often from blood loss, draw weight is mostly a suggestion. High weights are preferable to get a clean pass through in and out the other side combined with heart and lung shots for a quick kill.
      Ellie's recurve is probably towards the bottom of that range possibly even underpowered maybe a low as 20 lbs or less for a youth model, that may not be ideal but you use the tools you have and if you stick the deer in the right place it will die eventually, you may have to track that deer quite some distance without a clean pass through.
      Her dragging that deer a few hundred yards back to her horse would be funny.

    It wasn't written entirely by Neil though, Bruce Straley was there to help with the story and kept the dumb ass revenge plot out of the first game...that one Neil did on his own in the second and we saw the results |D

      By the way, look at the credits of the original and the remaster, Neil Druckmann changed it to where it says it was directed and written by him and he drops Bruce Straley from the co-director and makes himself the sole director and writer and attempts to tell people on Twitter that Staley wasn’t a part of it.

      @@lazy-a-ile8608 I know right, it’s a shame because for the longest time I believed Staley, Druckmann, and a couple of others from the original team made a pretty good story together. Neil’s story is pretty bad on its own.

      Funnily enough you can shoot his knee and wound him. Which makes the sequel even more retarded. Abbyzillas dad is so weak, pathetic and cowardly a bullet to the knee can kill him. How'd he survive 20 years post apocalypse? Probably hiding behind others. Whereas Joel gets shot, stabbed and beaten multiple times and still keeps going for more. Dude even survives a stab from a ruin building piece and survives, albeit almost dying. But doctor dumb over here? God forbid he trips over a cordless phone and dies of cringe.

    In terms of the outro, when Ellie bites David and says he’s infected, that’s a fake out, she’s pretending she’s infected the same as a normal person would be but she didn’t actually infect him.

    • @electricbayonet2
      @electricbayonet2 Год назад +19

      @@Cam_Can_Play The problem was that they spent almost all of the episode on a flashback to a long-dead Bill and Frank. It’s the same issue that Episodes 4 and 5 had with the invented bandit characters. It’s bloat, and it was also bloat that pulled attention from what had previously been stuff actually involving the main characters.
      And, at least in my opinion, it was a hell of a lot more subtle _and_ effective to have Bill still around as sort of warning for Joel. He represented not only what Joel might become if he secluded himself, but also how his own attitude and choices could cause that seclusion. His survival instincts could well have him outlive any and all reason to _live._
      I also have some personal gripes with the near-complete rewriting of Bill himself, the romanticization of suicide, etc, but this has gone on long enough as-is.
