I have never met Trail Angels yet, most of my rides are short to medium and over the weekends at most. I guess I could say the friends I go along are the angels and we do hit up conversations with random people which are always a blast. But, I can say for sure that I am looking forward to meeting some, and the love Barbara and John want to spread has 100% reached me trough this video and your journey Ryan. I trruly TRULY hope to meet them one day on their 4 acres of love while riding the divide!
Oh my goodness! I had the biggest smile on my face the whole time they were on screen! I haven't met any trail angles yet, but boy am I so excited to meet some when I am finally able to get out there! Awesome work man!
They, like you Ryan are prime examples that there still are genuine, caring, giving people out there. I especially liked the part about being ambassadors of our country and we as individual citizens should try and follow that way of thinking on a more local level. 🤘✌🏻. I was so lucky to stay with John and Barbara with John and Mira during their return trip to Canmore. Along with Jesse and Sarah from NYC. Ryan you really captured the spirit of John and Barbara. They are wonderful, special people. During my ride home from Jackson to Bigfork, every rider I met along the way insisted that I plan to stay at the “Llama Ranch”. After I left there, that became my refrain to those I met along the route. Love you, love Jesse and Sarah, John and Mira, thanks for sharing this video. -Wade. PS... Stemple Pass was HARD! I’m 61 years young with a poor power to weight ratio and it kicked my a$$! I had to push a lot of it!

I finally arrived to the farm at 2AM and immediately broke down in tears at the generosity and care these folks offer. I can't say enough about how amazing Barbra at the llama ranch is. She has been hosting riders for such a long time. Incredible people that make those they encounter better. I have to say there is a less well known Oasis south of Columbia Falls with equally kind folks,. It's on the ACA map and those in need of a rest should avail themselves. The divide is a special.place, thanks for all the work you are putting into sharing your journey!

45 years ago I was touring in and camping and got rained on big time thru the night. I woke to my camping neighbors, old couple, who brought me a plate of pancakes. I still remember their kindness 45 years later. Thanks for your great videos.
We stayed with Barbara and John on July 4th in 2018. That stay was one of the highlights of our 3 week trip. Their hospitality, home and property were utterly magical!

Grateful to have spent an hour and a half stopping at the Lost Llama Ranch this month. Unfortunately Barbara & John were out and I wasn't able to meet them, but the short time I spent there will remain a fondest memory.
Love, love, love Barbara and John. Stayed with them in 2018 while racing the TD. I also love Kirsten at Brush Mountain Lodge. I was able to keep going knowing that I wanted my hug from Kirsten! Also Wild Bill at Atlantic City. He got up at 4 AM to cook a full breakfast before I hit the Basin. These people along the route are what really made my race special!

I have been watching your videos for a few years. Riding with your brother on the West Coast, Nick on the Southern Tier, and meeting Danny in West Virginia are a few among the many that I have seen. And those series have made me want to ride those routes. while I haven't done those in full, I have done parts here and there. But this. This is inspiring and after only 5 episodes too. Barbara and John seem like great people and I am glad that you introduced us to them. I am also pretty envious of a bike tour with a doggo. Thank you Ryan Van Duzer for doing what you do.

I was touring years back through Washington state south of Port Townsend. Broke two rear spokes. Ran across a hippy drippy Bike mechanic/ artist who had a shop in his yard. Fixed my wheel and trued it for 10 bucks. Always remember his kindness.
I've just started to formulate the latest fantasy/dream for the next part of my life and that's to run a cafe/hostel/camping place like these amazing guys.. I'm tired of having to produce, constantly struggling with trying to find the balance between providing good value for money for my clients, making a living, and the perfectionism I'm burdened with. I yearn for a simple life of making people welcome, providing for their basic needs - food & shelter - and hearing new stories every day.. I don't have much hope that it'll happen as I don't have the financial resources to do it, even somewhere with an eternal spring climate in Mexico/C America where I'm hoping to retire (cos I'm not going to be able to afford much of a retirement life here in Canada) but dreams keep you going eh?.. Kudos to these amazing guys and I hope to stop by there sometime soon and tell them my story! (if the border opens back up this summer)
