      Hopefully, you see this. The new miniverse kits need a stronger UV light to work. So many creators online had to get new, more powerful UV lights. That's why the pieces weren't sticking on the teapot. That's also why you had problems with the last miniverse kit. It's not the resin or the kit, its the UV light. Hopefully, you see this before you do anymore miniverse kits.

    I have been running into the same problem with the new resin not curing :-( luckily I have monitor lizards and their UVB bulbs seem to do the job quite well but I will be looking into a new uv crafting lamp so I don’t have to interrupt my lizards lighting to cure my projects (don’t worry I’ve never put uncured resin anywhere near my animals)

    There definitely are flowers and plants with thick fuzzy stems, The sweater on the teapot is called a Tea Cozy, and the green teapot is s replica of Carnival Glass which is really interesting! You can easily go thru a wormhole about all the different styles, where that pattern was from. These actually are given out at carnivals and prizes. It was super popular from about 1925 to 1930 ( I had to google that) and people would collect whole sets of a design or color. Most of them have that pearly shine. The most popular is a green one glows under uv light and looks a bit like Absinthe.

    The silicon thing is a tea-cosy. They are pretty common in the uk, they are usually knitted or crocheted.
    They are supposed to both insulate the tea pot to keep it warmer for longer and make it safer to pick up without burning yourself.

  • @khowler
    @khowler 4 месяца назад +20

    They made the resin too opaque so that's probably why it didn't bond to the handles. Which is a shame. They should have included a small bit of glue instead of using uv resin.
    I know you like your little UV light, but the Let's Resin double sided uv light is the bomb! It cures both sides at the same time! I love it. I use it for all my small uv mods.

  • @erinserai

Not to mention getting those tiny swords/daggers/axes out of the molds was a nightmare. I appreciate that the molds were very well made and very detailed, but they just don't work at this scale.

    • @escapedgoat5865
      @escapedgoat5865 4 месяца назад +7

      @florencetheunicorn I always thought the uv resin was crazy to be in a kids toy but I think they were worried if they didn't target kids. Being they are really a kids toy brand. Kinda messed up experimental thing they did there. But I'm glad they seen there is a huge adult crafting market that love this stuff. I love the idea of a more detailed time consuming project with what they had going on. Only concern is with the added mold and stickers they are going to be much more expensive. Now my next critic is they need to take out thr blind box element out of it. Thats something for other items. For this I'm not trying to get things I don't want. I don't want the element of surprise if the price goes up

    • @lonnibaird8018
      @lonnibaird8018 4 месяца назад

      They are still sold in the kids section at Walmart though.

    • @escapedgoat5865
      @escapedgoat5865 4 месяца назад

      @lonnibaird8018 that need to change that. I was thinking they just need to move ot to the craft section thry wouldn't lose money but these things are probably in toy stores which I don't think there is a craft section or adult only section. I guess thry probably would lose money if they did the right thing. Which is remove it as a toy. Because I think most people buying these are aware of the resin but it's not everyone. It's dangerous. Some parents or especially older family members shopping for gifts can get this as a gift and thr parents may. It know what it is and that resin could fall into the hands of a small child. Man the more I think about this I dont know how there is no lawsuits. I don't want for this to he a thing where it's not sold I want it to be available and do good so they continue to keep coming up with new items but I really think it's a matter of time a child gets hurt and these are banned all the way around. I frickin love that these are available just not targeting kids

    Also I would love to see you try using your own UV resin and try to match the dark color of the teapot. I'm wondering if it was a combination of the dark color + the resin change, maybe it just needed more time to fully set up? I'm thinking it probably was just too dark in color though. I just realized that weird silicone cover is a tea cozy.
    If I remember right they're little things that go over your tea pot to help keep it warm. Kind of like a sweater for your tea pot.

    Jackieeeee it's not a silicone teapot dress! 😂 It's called a tea cozy, and they can be made of all sorts of fabrics (eg: crochet, quilted fabric). They're to keep your tea hot. ❤

    For some of these resin projects, if you find the best method using that little standup lamp, I’d maybe use a sheet of tin foil over the top to help reflect the light!! You could even set the item and light on a longer piece and wrap it up and over so it reflects more underneath a bit. Still important to flip the piece around a fair bit, but tin foil helps!!

    What I would do with the gold dust one: I would coat the other bits with my nail gel chrome top coat, then rub the powder on it, then coat the whole thing with my top coat.

    For making extra ones, Maybe going mixed medium and making the spout/lid/handle from clay could work.

    I love this series. I haven’t had a problem with the resin so far, but I also make sure I cure them under a light for a lot longer than needed and rotate them regularly making sure the light hits every side, too and bottom of the mold too. I’m just disappointed you only get enough handles for 2 cups, but the resin definitely makes 4. If you can make a mold of the handles you have a way to make as many as you like that way. I ended up making a third remix with “coffee and cream” and it looks great.

    Great vid as always, Jackie! FYI, for those who follow this channel and enjoy the miniverse brand, the appliances are re-stocked on Amazon for those of you who missed it the first time, or who simply want some extras. I was too late to the party before, but I got nice and stocked up this go-round, yay! Thanks for turning me on to miniverse, Jackie...I love you, but you breaka mah wallet's heart.

    I have the same uv light as you and often takes me a long time to get the resin to harden with these projects. However if it is a sunny day and I'm able to take it out into the sun light then it only takes 30 second to harden well.
