Both adults and children have got a hold of miniverse and told them that they've had skin irritation and asthma attacks due to the resin. It won't actually completely take them off the shelf. They'll have to relabel things and make it noted that resin can be dangerous right on the packaging and the stuff that it can cause. So they'll just have to make it completely transparent, but it's not the age thing. It was that people of all ages got hurt.

@KayLeeHoward-vc2ph The company said something about it. I believe that they are remaking Series 3 (cafe & diner), though they are not making the older series.
Someone in a canadian fb miniverse group reached out to the company about the recall!! They said it was fue to the resin not being safe ("irritation" was the reason quoted) BUT have allegedly made a new resin that doesn't "contain the irritant"???? Which I don't think is possible, to have a "safe" resin!! Happy to send along the screenshots if wanted!
I think it's a specific ingredient they took out. Still resin isn't "safe" and definitely isn't meant for children, u just think the new formula is "safer"
Interesting. I was just thinking maybe they could change it to some kind of a nontoxic glue that dries fairly fast. Although honestly I like the resin ones. But I do agree they aren't for kids. Although depending on the kids maturity to follow safety directions I might just do it with them while using proper ppe. I'd probably do the resin part though.
I agree with this. The best scenario would be that they're using the wrong word and the new kits contain some type of water based glue. If the new formula still involves UV resin then there's no chance that is fully safe. A middle ground would be a 2-part silicone which you mix yourself, similar to Jellirez or Rainbow Jellies. That's still not skin safe but better than resin.
It's a single ingredient that was flagged by health codes somewhere, they're basically just changing that ingredient. Of course, I read this on Instagram or Reddit, and can't find the comment now, but they did mention a specific term/chemical.

@manen2391 It's not just a question of age or not reading the warning labels... some chemicals within their resin formula exceeded the legal limits. That stuff was actually a health hazard, even by resin standards!
@@monstresynthetique3644 exceeded the legal limits for kids toys actually, not for uv resin and what exceeded was an irritant that's still an irritant below legal limit, so yes its still on not reading warnings because uv resin is dangerous by itself, it's like an adult giving a kid soldering not knowing it's poisonous if you ignore warning labels that's on you, could some have been mitigated yes but not all of them that's the issue here, every art supply is dangerous in some way and the refusal to read instructions or warnings or even look up the dangers of it causes issues regardless of ingredients
FYI, the mini brands UV light has a very short lifespan and dies not long after making the project. Unfortunately you can not replace the batteries, so it really is a waste of plastic.
Huge waste, not only that but the UV lamp is unpractical according to the directions you have to hold it above your project for 5 to 10 minutes and tell me who wants to do that 🤔 I personally really like the mini verse kitchen because the oven that has the UV light is really good in my opinion
Honestly the whole thing is a big waste of plastic. If miniverse did a set of 5 projects, or had a big set of ingredients to make your own plates of food I could get behind it, but the random mystery element, the chase for an "ultra rare" is purely there to drive up sales. Most of these will be in landfill within a year because only a few people buying these have an interest in actually getting into resin as a hobby and can use/properly dispose of the waste. I only watch these for Jackie's commentary but really can't wait til her new studio space is set up and she can have space to do her own projects again.
@@KristenZianourry2015I read somewhere that the little carton piece that comes with the instructions is to hold the lamp. But you’re right, huge waste. If you buy 10 balls, you have 10 lamps you need to recycle. I have the same lamp like Jackie, I don’t need them.
I’ve been waiting for someone to put these two head to head, i am a miniverse defender due to the creativity and diverse activities. I love this so much! You’re the best Jackie! 💕
I got the ultra rare as a gift and while watching the intro to this video I went and checked it. Despite me curing it for the full 5 minutes with the light, the center was still liquid and pressing down on the top separated the cured resin from the edge, allowing the uncured resin to seep out. I had always kind of suspected these kits would be problematic. UV resin needs full exposure to cure, and a lot of these kits have opaque items added to the resin, or layered with it in a way that makes it impossible to fully cure.
When making kits with opaque resin the best way is to build and cure in thin layers, that way it is cured all the way through. Also, an extra powerful uv torch helps.
@@roowyrm9576yes! I have had no issues building in layers.. I prefer it because I control where the resin goes and use much less of it in the process.
Me too a lot of them melted I moved but it was before summer and my cat played with them so cat hair cat brush off sticky no fixing it me and my husband spent a lot of money and time making these I was super upset now they are recalled so
don't forget that the Zuru Masterchef Create have QR codes to the real recipes these minis are based off of!!! Yum!!! (hence why the chocolate mousse is vegan)
I'm so sad they were recalled! I do agree, they aren't for kids, but could they just rebrand for adults? My special interest is mini things and I adored miniverse!! Only part I wasn't a fan of is the mystery, I wanna know what I getting
Hellooo nerdEcrafter so a little story time. My cousin is 11 she bought the miniverse and was doing it. I was over at her house and said "don't get to close to the resin it has a really strong smell." She didn't believe me and she was literally right above the resin she started feeling sick with a bad headache I felt so bad but I tried to warn her :/
I love that you and Hope know each other 😂 I didn't start watching her until about a year after I had been watching you and then when I saw her doing your pour project on her channel I freaked out!! Warmed my heart! I love your shout-outs to people, it shows what a good genuine person you are ❤
it's funny because the mini brad are supposed to be more "elegant", but to me they look more of a low quality copy... Sure the projects are cute, but packaging for items are more lazy, you end up with 50 lamps you'll never use, and I HATE the fact the list doesn't show pictures of the projects, but drawings of the project. It's sad because the projects are actually cute
I agree, but the results are surprisingly nice; actually there're more detailed. Look at the black forest cake or the pie crust, they did look better than Mini Brands. But yes, everything around it is disappointing and bland.
@@indrahx5905 yeah to be honest i'd like no lamp, and more detailled packaging, because let's face it, lot of us totally enjoy the tiny stuff you can keep on top of the project XD
Only 2 days without sun?! Lucky! Here in Toronto we've been going more than that. I know because I also have chronic autoimmune diseases and the rain storms lately have been just killing my joints and making me literally pass out from the pain. I hope you're fairing better hun❤.
I've bought both myself, with miniverse i love the amount of different foods that you can get (i know they have been out longer so more options) I love that they look cartoony they look fun and they fit in with my doll house display. The mini brands ones are more real and seem to be aimed more at adult crafters. I think the lack of whimsy might be part of the masterchief brand deal rather than a lack of trying.
I get so entertained by your videos you’re amazing. I remember one night a few years ago when I couldn’t sleep and went on RUclips and found your videos. ❤❤
You got me started on them. and I really enjoy making the projects and doubles are good for using to create on your own that's what I do, and I have only started this past month for the very first time and I am making them even look different if I don't like how they did it on their pictures. Thank you for getting me started I in turn just showed someone else how to do them and she is hooked.
Mini brands feels way less like it's aggressively for kids than miniverse in packaging. However the fact that is is so "adult" allure makes it seem like it's the one ACTUALLY trying hardest to attract little kids
German American here...in German it's called Eschte schwartzwalde Kirsch torte aka black forest cake or black forest cherry cake! Fun fact: if there's no alcohol in the cake in Germany it's not considered a black forest cake! It's basically illegal to sell the cake in Germany without the alcohol..which has to be what the cherries are soaked in for 24 hrs, there's also a lil in the whipped cream and also in the layers to give it that moist texture! Cause if there isn't it's really dry and gross!
Hi Jackie. Tyvm for being 💯 with all your viewers. Love watching your videos ❤. I've been pouring resin for many years and 1st time I saw you do these resin kits I was like I hope they are marketing for adults but found out they were not. As a collector of these mini verse resin kits it's sad they didn't market them correctly. Please keep up the great work you do and always thinking of the health of your viewers.
I prefer the Miniverse visuals, because that silly sun is so cute, and I'm not a serious chef. The Blackforest cake is called Schwartzwald cake here in Finland, because the area in Germany where it originates from is called Schwartzwald - or, Black forest in English.
Yeah, the retailer I bought my Make It Minis from passed on the recall information just the other day. I am very much not a child and wasn't interested in what their "replacements" might be.
I happened to be in Target today and decided to see what, if any, miniverse was there. The whole section was bare 😭 I did find a couple lifestyle balls on a random shelf a few rows away. I'm sad I wasn't able to buy more of these before the recall and it makes me sad to think of all of them going to a landfill. Fingers crossed they make a comeback with whatever changes they need to make 🤞
This is my first time being in the first hour!! Of course, it's 4:30am on Saturday in New Zealand LOL. I love watching your mini resin videos. As a mid-forties woman, they got me brave enough to try making resin projects. Thank you, Jackie!!!!
I really like the mini brand honestly because I feel like the textures and models are a little more realistic which brings me a lot of joy to make it look like a shrunk real thing lol. I do like the details of mini verse though a lot
POV- the sun went on vacation and is now decided to stay there for a while longer XD i love your content jackie keep up the good work thanks for makin us smile!
huh, and i was under the impression they were under the same parent company and that explains the recall on the amazon buy...though haven't opened them yet, but was going to use PVC/school glues as replacement to the resin...
10:06 Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (torte means cake, meanwhile Kuchen can also be cake, but is more similar to the English word pie. Torte means to have a layered cake with mostly cream inbetween the layers, while Kuchen is mostly 1 piece often even without any topings)
Okok I looked it up! It is just the older kits (before May 31, 2024) where their resin formula may cause irritation to skin (which is normal with resin lol). Their lifestyle kits and spa kits are still on the market and their next kits will have a different formula (and will update the older kits as well).
Salty , as a nail tech may I make a suggestion. Please use 100% acetone to take resin off the skin and or nail area. Acetone is much more accepted by the body gel polish is resins and I use it every day alcohol just spreads the small molecules around and can create contact dermatitis faster ❤
My store have to recall these like crazy. We are not allowed to sell any of them including the new ones they made. We actually made a Lil girl cry because we have to refuse to let them buy one. It sad they were recall and hopefully they get it fixed and improve it.
I'm glad I got as many as I did before this happened. I bought a Mini Baby today and it had a recall warning. This baffles me as none of the babies have resin. I am over the surprise part of these things. I would much rather know which one I'm getting.
Maybe they can re-do them with a glue/mod podge situation? Myfroggystuff just mixes acrylic paint into elmers glue or mod podge and creates a similar effect with the kits without the risks of resin, so I think that could work. There just won't be any UV light setting element, but that's probably a good thing for a lot of kids!
FYI in germany 'black forest cake' (Schwarzwälder Torte) actually refers to that specific type of cake. The cake layers are (as far as I know) usually sponge cake with cocoa powder and cherry liquor in it (the liquor is just for taste and can be left out if you want it to be alcohol free)
One of the other RUclipsrs I follow MyFroggyStuff uses modge podge instead of the resin to make these kits she just mixes acryilc paint or washable marker into the Modge Podge (for a clear tint) to make the "sauces" etc etc.
When I heard of the recall all i could think was finallllly, and man Jackie's inbox is gonna swell up. 🤣 I love the products just hate that they were directed to kids.
What scale are these things? I collect 1/12th dollhouse size. These are so cute! I love miniature things. I think I prefer the second set styling. It has better texture detailing and looks a lot more realistic and less toy-like, but they’re both really cute.
only yesterday I purchased two of the Master Chief series...it's handy getting the uv light with it, but after you've purchased a few then what do you do with the lights once they've been made..??can you buy the resin that is used in craft shops, miniatures and so forth and make your own.?could be handy then..

Ikr, My dolls love to enjoy my resin craft projects that I made ❤ It sucks for some kids have respiratory system and Allergic reactions to it but, Keep buying them and doesn't care about Adult supervision is recommended 😢
And I agree with you about the age limit, They should do 18+ because, Some kids doesn't care for harmful chemicals in their lungs
@@princessheart9229 it wasn’t just kids getting hurt though, it’s just adults who don’t read warnings or instructions, the miniverse always had not safe and not for children on under 8 on their label, mini brands was marketing for 3 up, the issue is that any art media could cause irritant or asthma when used incorrectly chalk comes to mind, but also slime, they see something that they think is for children and think it’s nontoxic and safe
Honestly I'm not mad at the mini brands. Yes they did take inspiration from mini verse but I like how realistic the packaging is
Plus at least they actually put enough resin to finish the project
In germany we called this cake "Schwarzwälder Kirsch torte"🥰 and i love it
FYI, the mini brands UV light has a very short lifespan and dies not long after making the project.
Ikr I feel like MasterChef is being wasteful on putting every single chef hats in the every single balls
When making
kits with opaque resin the best way is to build and cure in thin layers, that way it is cured all the way through. Also, an extra powerful uv torch helps.
@@roowyrm9576 or just leave it sit outside for an hour or 2 for full cure
@@roowyrm9576yes! I have had no issues building in layers.. I prefer it because I control where the resin goes and use much less of it in the process.
Me too a lot of them melted I moved but it was before summer and my cat played with them so cat hair cat brush off sticky no fixing it me and my husband spent a lot of money and time making these I was super upset now they are recalled so
don't forget that the Zuru Masterchef Create have QR codes to the real recipes these minis are based off of!!! Yum!!! (hence why the chocolate mousse is vegan)
@@sarahl2481 I got a yogurt parfait, but it also came with a UV light that looks like a chefs hat... been using that for all my resin since.
I was just about to comment about ending up with multiple lights if you buy more than one kit. It's a nice thought but feels like such a waste.
I would use the lamps for other projects. So for me having multiples would be okay.
I love the crashing/glass breaking noise when you throw the packaging behind you lol
12:56 omg both the hot and cold ones would feel AMAZING for my migraines!
Thank you for getting me started I in turn just showed someone else how to do them and she is hooked.
oh wow its actually really cool that the mini brands one come with a uv light, and the fact its a chef hat is so cute!!
Mini brands feels way less like it's aggressively for kids than miniverse in packaging. However the fact that is is so "adult" allure makes it seem like it's the one ACTUALLY trying hardest to attract little kids
I loooooove the excitement when opening a rare (or ultra-rare?) item!!! 💓
My favorite part of this whole video is when you saw the apple slices and was like EVERYTHING STOP lol. I would've reacted the same way lol
Yep in France this cake (My fav cake ever !!) is "Une forêt noire" so "a Black Foresté ! ❤
I love you jakie!! Tank you for all your hard work, we appreciate it ❤❤❤❤
I honestly prefer the mini brands because the textures are better, I also like the master chef ones as they actually link an irl recipe to it as well
I prefer the Miniverse visuals, because that silly sun is so cute, and I'm not a serious chef. The Blackforest cake is called Schwartzwald cake here in Finland, because the area in Germany where it originates from is called Schwartzwald - or, Black forest in English.
Woot Woot! Was laying down to take a nap before work and saw Jakie uploaded. Nice! 😅
I enjoy your enthusiasm. Thank you. 😊❤
That smashing the glass sound effect gets me 😂.
Love the reaction when you throw things behind you
Woohoo!! Finally! I did see the email, and I’m just glad they finally realized this isn’t a product for young kids.
Celebrating our concerned influencer who cares about the health of everyone who loves to craft.
I absolutely LOVE my creature of darkness bag, so many people absolutely love her, too!! I'm in love!!
Thank you for acknowledging that just because you are grown doesn’t mean you can’t like fun colors and stuff 😁
I live for these miniverse videos and your sense of humor❤️
🥹❤️
Jackie, we love you just the way you are, you could never disappoint us.
Sending love to you from Nottingham UK. X 🇬🇧❤️
Same , Jackie I also haven't seen the sun in 2 days in my country only rain
Thank you so much for the pin ❤❤
I love your energy. 😊
I really like the mini brand honestly because I feel like the textures and models are a little more realistic which brings me a lot of joy to make it look like a shrunk real thing lol.
I do like the details of mini verse though a lot
I'd choose the Mini Brands. I like that a lot of it looked more realistic, plus, it came with a UV light. Everything you need to do the project.
POV- the sun went on vacation and is now decided to stay there for a while longer XD
i love your content jackie keep up the good work thanks for makin us smile!
I agree I think minis are cute too! I loved miniature versions of things since I was very little!
Adults like colors too spoke to me on a spiritual level
I mostly get these for the mini food ingredients. They do really awesome in a mini shop diorama especially if you get duplicates
huh, and i was under the impression they were under the same parent company
and that explains the recall on the amazon buy...though haven't opened them yet, but was going to use PVC/school glues as replacement to the resin...
I've tried both and gone back to the mini verse one. It's the cuteness and the colours that draw me in. Yes I am an adult.
These DIY little things are so cute, I can't help but want them❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Jackie! the tool at 23:21 is simply a cake spatula, nothing fancy.
NOOO I WANTED MORE FOR MY BIRTHDAY
You might still be able to get them somewhere, but idk
Fr! My mom and I do resin crafts and we found these and love them! I was so sad when I saw they were recalled
Okok I looked it up! It is just the older kits (before May 31, 2024) where their resin formula may cause irritation to skin (which is normal with resin lol). Their lifestyle kits and spa kits are still on the market and their next kits will
have a different formula (and will update the older kits as well).
It would be fine just use gloves and a mask. As soon as it's cured the chemicals would no longer be dangerous.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
It's Friday, if you like 𝓶𝓮ꨄ she probably already has a video!
Thank You for your honest reviews
😌👍🌷🤍❤️
Salty , as a nail tech may I make a suggestion. Please use 100% acetone to take resin off the skin and or nail area. Acetone is much more accepted by the body gel polish is resins and I use it every day alcohol just spreads the small molecules around and can create contact dermatitis faster ❤
I’m also in Alberta so canadian educated ❤
My store have to recall these like crazy. We are not allowed to sell any of them including the new ones they made. We actually made a Lil girl cry because we have to refuse to let them buy one. It sad they were recall and hopefully they get it fixed and improve it.
I'm glad I got as many as I did before this happened. I bought a Mini Baby today and it had a recall warning. This baffles me as none of the babies have resin. I am over the surprise part of these things. I would much rather know which one I'm getting.
0:12 this is the one time i love being in south africa....like its gon take us years to recall it in south africa
It’s a really nice touch Mini Brands includes the light! Especially this day and age….
One of the other RUclipsrs I follow MyFroggyStuff uses modge podge instead of the resin to make these kits she just mixes acryilc paint or washable marker into the Modge Podge (for a clear tint) to make the "sauces" etc etc.
I follow Froggy too and that's EXACTLY what I'm going to do if I D.I.Y. my own Miniverse foods myself along with paint and clay and glaze!
I really enjoyed this video ❤ love your energy 🥰
When I heard of the recall all i could think was finallllly, and man Jackie's inbox is gonna swell up. 🤣 I love the products just hate that they were directed to kids.
Congrats to everyone who's early early and found this comment

Got here at 2hrs
Miniature stuff is fascinating AF. 😊❤
Jackie they have new mini brands create garden also retro plus home collection
What scale are these things? I collect 1/12th dollhouse size. These are so cute! I love miniature things. I think I prefer the second set styling. It has better texture detailing and looks a lot more realistic and less toy-like, but they’re both really cute.
I find the crash every time you toss the packaging entertaining! 🤣
Does anyone else often wonder what a magical place the mini factory must be ☺️

"Rays of the sun" ws so damn cute 😂❤
These are wild, what a fascinating video 😊😊
only yesterday I purchased two of the Master Chief series...it's handy getting the uv light with it, but after you've purchased a few then what do you do with the lights once they've been made..??can you buy the resin that is used in craft shops, miniatures and so forth and make your own.?could be handy then..
I'm honestly it took this long for them to realize how dangerous UV resin is for KIDS
It's dangerous if not used properly. It's the negligence of parents not supervising their children
In the UK we call them black forest gateau and they are my favourite.
I love the Mini Verse ones, I haven't been brave enough to try any yet though. I enjoy watching your videos as I can see you try them and have fun with them
its pretty cool seeing a masterchef logo all over the mistery box. i loved that show as a kid
AAAA omg i used to watch you a couple of years ago. You were my comfort youtuber. I loved just watching you doing different projects and reviewing different products. Im so happy i randomly recalled your channel today and i can happily say your still my comfort youtuber!!! Ly! 🎀💖
Yay!! Welcome back ❤️
Ik I am late to this vid but I prefer mini verse because they made this mini food resin idea but also it is more fun and you can enjoy it a bit more with all the colors! Love your vids jackie
From the Mini Verse version for the Apricot almond cheesecake looked more like a wheel of cheddar cheese than Mini Brands did because it had better shading on it 🥰🥰🥰
i always was like "surely nobody will make a toy with professional crafting mediums... 𝙝𝙚𝙝" *miniverse exists* "yeah no
I LOVE IT when Jackie gets a Rare or Ultra Rare Mini figurine!!!! She’s SO happy whenever she does! Love Ya Jackie💖

Hehe, lol.❤
4:46 😂idk why I played that 5x
Heyyy , I don't blame you cuzz I love the smell of the resin 😅
These Mini Brands kits are a collaboration with Master Chef and so the items match other Master Chef items (which are aimed at children) who enjoy the show where children cook like professional chefs. They also sell cookware sets, etc. for children learning to cook at a higher level.
