- Amazing wide open bite on the Mission Belle! Cherry on top - got my personal best yellowtail on this trip...it came in right at 35#!!!

- Phenix Axis Rod HAX720H (25-60#) and Okuma Tesoro 10S Reel w/ 30# fluoro topshot and 50# braid backing

Congrats on the awesome trip. You have some of the best fishing etiquette and I have ever seen. And I think it is great that you are helping teach the next generation of anglers on these boats. It is one of the most important and rewarding things you can do.

Your a strong women . Just went out on the mission belle last Saturday on the 24th , and hooked my first yellow tail. Let me tell you those thangs get your shoulder and forearm tired quick and ima big guy 😂😂 props to you
@@samuelferris4108 hi there! That’s awesome and congrats on your first yellowtail! 👏🏼 Oh, for sure! They definitely put up a great fight 💪🏼 - I’ve learned to use my body weight to try to leverage the fight - like putting the rod under my armpit and using the rail whenever I can! Takes a load of pressure off the back and forearm. But yes, I’m usually sore for a good 2-3 days after fishing for yellowtail 😂

Hi, Laun!: This certainly was a great trip, and you were one of the 'hot rods' on that trip, that's for sure. This trip was one of six out of seven days that the Mission Belle caught over 100 yellowtail a day (So, 600+ yellows caught that week by the Mission Belle.). Most likely the best yellowtail streak at the Coronados for this entire season, and it was fun to share it with all of you.

@@thomaskong5 thank you! 🙏🏼 I have no problem sharing the rod with anglers who are having a bit more of a difficult time hooking up. Much more of a fun time when everyone on the boat is having fun 😀 And i agree, the worst kind of angler are the ones who can’t be happy for others that do well!
great video and commentary, what size hook and line did you use? did you also have a short fluoro to mono?
@@marioh.4361 hi! thank you for watching and the kind words! 🙏🏼 I use a size 1/0 j hook (gamakatsu) on 50# braid backing with a 30# fluoro leader (about 30ft).
Amazing fishing. Hooking them left and right and sharing in the action! Is that an Okuma star drag Tesoro? Looking for a new star drag.
@@MrMikeIffy thank you! I was definitely lucky that day! Yes! I’m using the Okuma Tesoro 10s (star drag). Absolutely love the reel - it handled my 35# yellowtail like a champ! Plenty of capacity too!
Were those fish in the gunny sacks all day?
@@bostondan77 thankfully, Mission Belle has an RSW system so they store the fish in there until the very end of the trip when they separate the fish by tag number and then put into gunny sacks.
That's so nit watching ur son bring 2 yellow tails and you to ,I live watching children fishing and live watching them fish ,plus ya did a fantastic video , hope to see ya there SD in September or October, out there tight lines😅😅😅😅😅😅
