I have had a lot of trigger time with the .25-06 and will offer my conclusions. First off the standard 1-10” twist is not fast enough to consistently handle 120 grain bullets. I have not had any experience with 110 grain bullets as they were not a thing “back then”, but the 100 grain bullets were consistent in the 1-10” twist. If you are going to reload I would be sure to try magnum primers of the garden variety as I generally have lower SD’s with them. Use powders that fill the case up too as velocity tends the be disappointing otherwise. Good luck on your journey, the big quarter bore is a hoot!

Yeah I agree about it not liking heavy bullet. I got 85gr up to 120gr to test. See what it like the best. Thanks for the input! The rifle is fun to shoot. Little recoil and the scope I put on 1000% better then the weaver that came with the gun and the scope ringers were trash.!

Nice to see the winchester get a bit tighter though

Ok incoming opinion here. I’ve used that cartridge for a long time. I originally started with the cor loct. I had problems with them expanding and taking deer like I thought they should. My gun never really liked those anyway. I’ve heard people say that the ballistic silver tip is a nosler bullet idk if that is the case but if it is the nosler might be a good choice for the hand loads since it liked the factory stuff. I had better results on whitetail with the nosler bt anyway. Just my experience. I’m pretty sure that will shoot some good groups with bullets it likes. My powder has been Imr 4350 and if I was looking for another projectile I’d be looking at Sierra. I did learn the hard way some of the lighter nosler bt stuff is for varmints only. I like that cartridge better than the 270 win I’ve been using for the last few years. I’m looking forward to seeing you do more testing and good luck with one of my favorite cartridges 👍👍

I would like to see the consistency of the powder in the Remington ammo

The 115 grain version of the ballistic silver tip is a buck dropping machine

I dont feel like i have seen cor -lokt shoot decent for awhile. For such a go to round i feel like the accurecy has either gone down hill or maybe was not that good to begin with. But maybe thats just me.

One 1/2 MOA group and then the others spread out a bunch.... interesting. Rough to see from here. I image you were scratching your head and kicking rocks at the range. Stick with the Winchester. Thank you.

Yeah weird results with the Remington ammo. I need to pick up a few more boxes of the Winchester. I do got a lot of different bullets to test! From 80gr to 120gr but I bet anything over 110gr probably not shoot so well but will see. Will see how it does with hand loads.

      You don’t think the Winchester
ammo shot well? Just at 1 moa and that not easy for a factory rifle with factory ammo. But let me guess your rifles do it all day. And the whole point of these videos is to test and see what shoot. But there always one guy in the comments.

Some rifles just won't shoot. Others like everything. Start with the discount rifle of a discount brand your chances are high it won't shoot. Could state cost of rifle, comparables with other brands. Could even be a title of a video.
