- “The actual definition of the dancefloor is something that has always fascinated us. It’s a space we express ourselves ultimately. However as huge Adam Curtis fans we’ve always been fascinated with origins and definitions. The complex relationships between subjects and the stories we are told to learn about them. When we started researching the history of the dancefloor and found that Thomas Edison was one of the first to film a dancefloor and that he monetized it in the way he did. We think of where we are at now and ask what have we really learned? That is the concept behind the film for Love and Hate in a Different Time.” - Gabriels

A new-ish song that sounds like an old song... love the dancey, northern soul feel, brooding strings, and bluesy, soul vocals straight out of a southern state spiritual song. It's as sublime as it is infectious. Much credit to the young guys who created it 💜

Me being sappy, but I love this short video. It’s just people dancing, but it’s also a showcase of how music and dancing is such a natural form of human expression. We dance seriously, jokingly, to match how the music makes us feel. Different dances across cultures, decades, age groups, and environments, and while the moves may be completely unknown to us and the music muted, we know and recognize “that person is dancing”.

It’s not Northern ....it may get played in venues but it’s never a northern soul tune .....it’s a soul tune that the scene appropriates like every single one of the tunes played at venues

It's just soul & History of Dance , As a 62 year who as been on the scene since 15 years old , Don't categorize as Northern Soul as the use of the word is Stale .
