The touch screen is not NI flow. Maschine was for hardware heads that likes to touch their stuff. As far as the sound it was meant to be clean or dirty as you like. For your purposes I would use the -6 limiter on all kicks and snares the s1200 lo on snares and roll off everything above 16k on every project . That pretty much gives you close to the eps sound. another trick is to resample +4 with the 1200 modeler on and then slow down the new sample and chop that up. I think when you talk about “the sound”, if you’re using the factory content, then it might not have the MPC sound. If however, you’re using the same content on both a Maschine and an MP with the Mac/PC software - say from somewhere like Splice or Loopcloud - then you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference. The main difference will come when sampling through the analog audio inputs due the whatever A-to-D and D-to-A converters are in use.
I really needed to see this. Since you are a true MPC user your detailed opinion matters to me. I see the Maschine workflow is dope and thats MAJOR to me but ....... the sound. My friends have it and I always said the same thing about it but was hoping they fixed that or I should say had a alternative setting for such but that's a deal breaker for me ,,, and for that reason I'm out.
Honestly, I've heard the sounds from both and there is no noticeable difference between them at all. But the machine has more customizable options than MPC.
I think Maschine works best when used with the computer even though sometimes I don’t like being tethered to it. That’s really Native Instruments forte, and it’s at its best used that way. Also Bolo, I always use the saturation plugin that comes standard in the Maschine effects. They can definitely give your music more weight. I’m fond of the tape setting especially.
Guys any thoughts on what has the best quality in terms of Akai professional compare to Native Instrument the sounds, people often claim akai sounds plse comment openly and honestly thank u

@@MakingMadBeats akai sounds are great full bodied as it sounds really impactful, am not sure I can say the same for NI maschine mk3 or plus or studio as have not used them before however am aware that the komplete volumes are quite in the league of their own, the NI ecosystem works well if you of course have their products fair enough, am going to stick to Akai I guess
MASCHINE + standalone is fucking terrible. Every stock plugin or sound uses up to much CPU and edit midi is a fucking pain. MASCHINE works better with the software and a computer
10 yr NI user and recent Force convert. I really think NI and Akai should merge. NI software is amazing (and yes it all freezes and crashes) but Akai mops the floor with them on hardware. I hope they join forces to take out Apple, which I feel is the real competition. PS…lol, yeah they “misplaced” all the Maschine + units. Prob not going to have one for you until MK2 is my guess!
It's funny, because I think NI has nicely designed hardware (but poor build quality), and terrible software. Still can't do zones/splits on Komplete Kontrol, whereas the Novation SL MK III does it out of the box. So much missing from Maschine software-wise too, and no, I don't want it to be a DAW, but basic quality-of-life stuff like being able to arm and record multiple tracks simultaneously, split/merge scenes, freeze tracks, play mutes etc.
@@HammyHavoc NI software works with their hardware. As Bolo mentioned in the video, that is not typical with Akai. The MPCs work well, but most of the keyboards I try fall down similar to my experience with other companies. You have so many vsts with NI that can do articulations perfectly with a NI controller without any mapping; color coordinated zone layouts etc. Maybe that is why the features you mention aren’t available.
I've been a user of Mpcs since the first 1000, had the 5000 and now the live 2. thinking on getting the maschine. to be real I miss my first sampler the Asr 10.. been a heavy Ableton user over 11 years, just now learning Logic.. to switch things up

thanks for your honesty. Akai has pushed shit forward for decades , but its always about new tech with those guys, you can spend $500 dollars and they will drop that thing in 6 months, NI has supported their thing for years. I just don't trust Akai going forward
hey bolo, I'm curious to know if a Maschine song exported into akai will sound better or same? I would really like to know if its an AD/DA issue or just the sounds are lacking in Maschine. THX.
Your better off with the machine mk3 because you can link It with the komplete kontrol mk2 keyboard. The machine plus is stand alone. I have heard some mixed reviews about the machine plus but the machine mk3 I have heard nothing but good things about it. The keyboards come in a 49 key, 61 key and 88 key. The 88 key is the one I want because the keys are weighted. But it's up to you. Why am I explaining this to you like you don't already know. Forgive me. 🤦🏿♂️
the pads are dope my little daughter uses them and i have never any crashes or freezes and i can agree with the port . they should have touch but it works and i phone still catching up and yea it can do mpc mode.

This comment didn't age well, lol. Akai just announced an update coming June 23rd that fixes the key groups issue. Make it just as fast as maschine in that regard.
I sold my mpc x and got a MK3. You’re right about the pads and sounds not hitting like a mpc, but akai has no arranger view. That’s my main reason for ditching the X. And drums aren’t that major of a deal today anyway. This ain’t the early 90s. It’s about sounds( which Maschine has plenty of) and work flow.

Listening to you after you Were Pushing theDonkey Kongs Beats… ha ha ha. nah dude… 😂😂😂
Akai Professional looking at this video like 🤨 🤨🤨but 🔥🔥 video
I think Maschine works best when used with the computer even though sometimes I don’t like being tethered to it. That’s really Native Instruments forte, and it’s at its best used that way. Also Bolo, I always use the saturation plugin that comes standard in the Maschine effects. They can definitely give your music more weight. I’m fond of the tape setting especially.
Yup, Tape setting is king! Especially on drum groups and basslines.
Guys any thoughts on what has the best quality in terms of Akai professional compare to Native Instrument the sounds, people often claim akai sounds plse comment openly and honestly thank u
@@Stupid_Genius_09 So, do you like or dislike the sounds that come with current MPCs? If you don' t like them or Akai' s expansions check out 3rd party sound packs/libraries, e.g. from The Drumbroker. I really like the Marco Polo and the Cookin Soul Kits.
The pads suck. Too soft. And you can actually wiggle them. MPC has thick sturdy pads. You can do ya thing. The MK3 tho… horrible pads.
I've been a user of Mpcs since the first 1000, had the 5000 and now the live 2. thinking on getting the maschine. to be real I miss my first sampler the Asr 10.. been a heavy Ableton user over 11 years, just now learning Logic.. to switch things up
Device sucks Bolo. You have to use Maschine 2 software and it doesnt play well with Studio One for example. Takes to much work around for the work flow. I bought it and gave it a shot. Then sold it.....
Had my MK3 for a few years now. Bought an MPC a few months ago and it just wasn’t for me.
Check out my Template for Machine and FL Studio. ,Peace
thanks for your honesty. Akai has pushed shit forward for decades , but its always about new tech with those guys, you can spend $500 dollars and they will drop that thing in 6 months, NI has supported their thing for years. I just don't trust Akai going forward
def keyboard quick plug would be sweet , touch screen they prob charge 5k lol
What keyboard is that underneath the machineMk3
hey bolo, I'm curious to know if a Maschine song exported into akai will sound better or same? I would really like to know if its an AD/DA issue or just the sounds are lacking in Maschine. THX.
💯 does not hit!
I haven’t heard not one beat actually HIT! from those. I would pick one up if it did but they don’t. So it’s ah hell NO for me.
awesome video dude! Does the Maschine play well with other keyboards, like say an Arturia?
The m1 compatibility sucks lol. I’ve had maschine for years on a 2011 Mac with no crashes
As a person that has both.
Mk3 is dope and sound wise it's better hands down , work flow is getting there
Mpc is still the goat but it's 🐐 goat , mk3 those pads are hard an stiff
I had the original micro got rid of it because of hard times one of the best beats I made was on machine I miss that thing it's time to come back lol for real
Add the limiter to your master buss and ya beat will slap
What the fuck is a key group? Lol I left ajar a decade ago for NI haven’t looked back since
Should I return the Mpc Live 2 to get the Maschine +
No
less go when i got mk3 i came from mpc 60 and i was having a fit was bout to throw my mk3 threw the window glad i didn't love it
I think the sounds of Maschine sound better then what akai has produced
Maschine software is better, mpc standalone is better. Just my opinion. Maschine key groups is a little better. Audio tracks on maschine are terrible
I can agree
This comment didn't age well, lol. Akai just announced an update coming June 23rd that fixes the key groups issue. Make it just as fast as maschine in that regard.
If you haven’t tried already, throw some dirt on your drum tracks and see how you like that??
I sold my mpc x and got a MK3. You’re right about the pads and sounds not hitting like a mpc, but akai has no arranger view. That’s my main reason for ditching the X. And drums aren’t that major of a deal today anyway. This ain’t the early 90s. It’s about sounds( which Maschine has plenty of) and work flow.
Change the settings to mpc mode
I have both and you are right. I get the workflow of Maschine much quicker but the MPC has a sound to it. However, I always go with Maschine because I can get an idea going quickly.
Wait until you figure out the append workflow on the maschine lol.
Ummm when u mean switching to the dark side do you mean the akai force? Lol
sounds like you found your replacement for akai if u get what you want 🤜
