Best interview of anyone in a long long time. Probably because he is the interview-ee. Intelligent, insightful, charming and very witty. Loved it. Thank you Bill Nighy for who you are...
Without doubt the most unpretentious actor I have ever seen interview which ALL other actors should take note. Recently watch the triple of Page Eight where he plays the spy Johnny Worricker and he was outstanding, he can say so much with just a small change in his body and no matter the words he speaks he gives them such meaning and worth. He now has taken the mantle over from Laurence Olivia saying to 'method actor' Dustin Hoffman in Marathon Man who spent hours running to get into character "Try acting, dear boy". Bill does a similar story about a young actor telling him he had lost his 'feelings' for the role due to his drama teacher telling him, he could not see his feelings. Bill tells him, his teacher needs an excuse to make out they are teaching, and he tells the young actor, "Learn and trust the lines, every thing you need is the lines, it is called acting" He also unlike so many 'lovies' like the worse Christopher Bale believes in being polite, respectful and kind to every one be they actors or fans. Hope he is around for a long time and become a 'statesman' of what acting and what an actor should be.
I've got a good idea for children in need. Peter Sellars took the Beatles song "A hard days night" and recited the words over some music like it was Shakespeare. You could take the words from the Jefferson Airplane song "The Ballad of the Chrome nun." and do the same thing it would go viral.
He makes me feel proud to be English! What a really lovely man he is. God bless you Bill Nighy.
He is so classy and humble. The thing I love most, which I think speaks volumes about him, is how highly he speaks of those he's worked with.
A gentleman. And a funny one, too.
This is one of Bill Nighy's best interviews. I couldn't help chuckling from time to time :) Thanks a lot!
What's not to love about Bill. What a belter.
A heartfelt and amazingly honest interview. Enjoyed it very much.
I love the actors he mentioned - they too are the real deal. Being authentic today is so rare.
A wonderful, specail man.....Would love to have him as a friend.

I adore Bill Nighy - so thanks for this interview
I do too. One does not always want to meet their favorites. But Nighy is a truly lovely man, as well as one of my favorite actors.
Thanks. He's great and very interesting to ;listen to.

Am I the only one that googled young bill nighy? I prefer this version. Some people look better as they get older
So true. Couldn't agree more.
"aged like fine wine", as they say
I hope Bill returns to Broadway sometime in the future.
Heaven help me because he won’t read this thankgoodness but he is adorable and I am 80. But I love his movies. ❤
I also love his movies, he is just so talented and incredibly. Especially love him as Viktor from Underworld...just love this vampire❤❤
Totally get the eye thing, finally got contact lenses and was truly shocked I looked so much older than I appeared without them, wake up call
wow - what he says about acting really applies to everything. He cuts through all the bullshit - love this guy!
I love this. Thank you so much.

My first memory of Bill Nighy is when he was cast as Sam Gamgee in the BBC adaptation of The Lord of the Rings - 1981
he feels sort of schizophrenic at times ahahah, but he's such an amazing person. funny, witted, talented, interesting, you name it and he's got it
pen squiggling in the background. lovely conversation though.
Espresso not Expresso bill..Jesus.
ShelbyBaby27, all I can say is Fuck Yeah....

I was trying to remember the radio series - thanks (great series)
He and David Tennant must share ties.
Adore. But Bill, EX presso…..oh……
Bill Nighy is the opposite of 'laconic'.
Laconic? Maybe. Louche? That's kind of rude. Who called him louche?
He is an English gentleman, something that is mostly lost , love him 🥰
