This series is amazing, thank you for the content! Could you please go through your defensive guard as it has changed significantly from your first pro fight to where it was in your last fight? Thank you!
Why exactly? Its like saying you shouldnt wear shinguards or headgear since you wont have them in the fight. Training barefoot can lead to various silly toe injuries, I am not surprised he would want to protect his feet and avoid unneccessary dumb injuries when you kick something with your fingers or get them stomped on.
Adam B you sound like a noob lol most Thai boxers and k1 fighters don't wear head guards when they sparr and some Thai's don't even wear shin guards when they sparr. I have watch K1 for 15 years and Jason is the only k1 fighter I have seen wearing shoes to kick the bag in. Training in bare foot strengthens your feet (so in the ring that's good) so Doing all that training in shoes won't do your strength and conditioning any good for your feet. After all it's wear everything comes from in combat sports (foot work)
Johnny Cage I personally always use martial arts shoes as sometimes if your doing like 500 kicks always one goes bad might hurt your toe, depends what you do,I train Muay Thai and karate,so karate have headgear shin pads foot protectors,in Muay Thai lot Thai guys don't use anything, where western fighters will use all equipment just depends what comfortable in,obviously bazooka joe likes training shoes like me,
Johnny Cage, then perhaps you should watch less TV and hit a gym. His name is Joe and not Jason, by the way. First off, Thais dont spar much, period, for the same reason that they want to save their bodies and heads for the fightnight. The same with headgear used by pretty much ALL pro boxers in sparring. How shoes limit your footwork is beyond me - you call dumb accidental cuts on feet and kicked toes "conditioning"? Titlefights get called off because of such silly stuff (recall McGregor - Dos Anjos?). Shoes are also normal in taekwondo where Joseph comes from. If he has chronic toe injuries, why wouldnt he wear shoes? Let the man do what works for him, smartass.
The low kicks system is my favorite

thank you joe, maybe to add even more low kick madness. could you make a video of how to low kick a southpaw please ?
G SIZZLER you could just hit a shit load of your body kicks but yeah it would be interesting to see joe's opinion on this
I tend to (as a southpaw) use inside kicks or set up switch low kicks. It would be the same for an orthodox
Thank you for teaching all of this online. I appreciate it and I implement this during my training in open mat.
super amazing! as always!
you are the best teacher
Unbelievably awesome
Thank you really much.
thank's for the video
almost at 10k! Congrats :)
Yesssss brother!!!@

I'd wear them to prevent any foot infections.
