I was there in '94-'97,with 2/68. When did post get that big post office,Esso and the gaurd post at the main gate? When did McDs move? They used to be around the bottom of the hill from the Esso station.
Was bummed not to see the castle ruins before Idar and the church in the mountain.
Can you do another vid on that and the Kussel Castel?

I took a plunge into that lake, at the stairs. My Mom forgot her cigarettes, and so I went to pick them up, and fall right into it. I would love to see those stairs again.

thank you so much home sweet home i grew up in Berschweiler but lived in Baumholder later and worked on Post for military from 85-93 and now in KS
they are many from that Area over here

My Dad was stationed there from 1996-1999, I used to go to school there. Kindergarten and then the 1st grade. We lived at the top of the hill. I remembered busting my eyebrow open on the at the PX. It was icy out. 😂

I really appreciate your video, although I would have liked less video of the car interior and more of the countryside. I lived in Forhen Lindon and Baumholder in 1968 and 69, and didn’t see much I recognized. I’m sure it has changed a lot in 50 years. Thank you very much though for posting.

We were there 1984-1987. I looks the same. It is still beautiful! I see some new things like that market. It was very crowded then. It looks like a smaller amount of people now. Thanks for the video! 😊
