      It’s Samoan bro. They are singing a siva tau, or what most people would call a haka. For samoans we call it a siva tau, much like a war dance. If you look up manu Samoa rugby siva tau or haka, that is the song that’s being played now

      Hahaha that is only the beginning! It started 2 years ago with the Hu at my RUclips recommendations, since then RUclips gave me so much awesome bands! I don't know if you like Folk/Viking Metal, but Skäld and Heilüng are also very nice bands! :)

      it was cool yesterday, but since then.. i've moved on?
      anyway, saw utah and decided i take a peek. used to live out there when metal and stuff weren't very common. place called confetti's that used to be in downtown slc a few blocks from the mall or whatever. sometimes we'd all go chill down in Ogden. this was in '97 so id imagine much has changed.

I'm probably from an older generation, so I really don't get to check out the scene much, and I'm in Salt Lake...Taylorsville West Jordan area if you're familiar with the area. The best bars then for metal were Rafters, Uncle Albert's, the Barb Wire...they're all gone now. Liquid Joe's has alot if shows and I know there's going on I see from FB activities notifications, but other than TSO this year and Slaughter last year I don't get out like I used too.

    I love people that are proud of their own culture. It takes a lot of creativity to present it in such an epic way. People are just copying each other, not making anything new really. While as we can see here the solution is right in our roots. That's true authenticity.

      Michael J. Mates comparing DMX with these guys is neither relevant or necessary.
      Ask me this question again when you can show me that you understand one Polynesian culture sufficiently to draw parrallels between metal and the dance forms of that culture.
      That being I’m a fan of both DMX and these guys.

    For years I felt like a leper, always looked at sideways for having an affinity for Rock/Metal. The mindset to only like Rap or Reggae is a stigma within our people that needs to be broken. Love the rendition usoz. Keep it up, I’m a fan.

    I'm Samoan, and I absolutely LOVE THIS! Usos are from South Auckland and this genre is not common in this region, usually Island, RnB, Reggae and Hip Hop but Heavy Metal? I love my metal, big ups to the usos for venturing into other genres that you would only find going Eastside, Central and probably West Auckland. Too much usos. Le Manu! Rock Hard!

I don't understand any of the words (I will find out) but as you said, this is the heart and soul of metal, the electrifying energy that just fills you up and makes you feel like you can do anything and this song in particular was so positively empowering and I am so happy that I was alive to listen to it.     It's so awesome to see how worldwide METAL is. I honestly didn't know that Polynesians and island people were into hard music until I saw this. My girlfriend was born and raised in Hawaii and she hardly knew anything about metal until she met me, so I had the impression that they only listened to the usual rap/hip hop stuff down there. But this band proves me wrong and I'm glad!
