I love people that are proud of their own culture. It takes a lot of creativity to present it in such an epic way. People are just copying each other, not making anything new really. While as we can see here the solution is right in our roots. That's true authenticity.

For years I felt like a leper, always looked at sideways for having an affinity for Rock/Metal. The mindset to only like Rap or Reggae is a stigma within our people that needs to be broken. Love the rendition usoz. Keep it up, I’m a fan.
I'm Samoan, and I absolutely LOVE THIS! Usos are from South Auckland and this genre is not common in this region, usually Island, RnB, Reggae and Hip Hop but Heavy Metal? I love my metal, big ups to the usos for venturing into other genres that you would only find going Eastside, Central and probably West Auckland. Too much usos. Le Manu! Rock Hard!

Because of the show Vikings the Norse spirit stirred. And then the Hu popped up and then Alien Weaponry now this band. The small nations spirit roared and now people have more respect to older and forgotten cultures and people's.
As I understand it, Polynesians came to trade with Peruvian natives in the Middle Ages. The thought that my ancestors (I'm Peruvian) had contact with the powerful Polynesians fills me with pride
The Hu, Heilung and now Shepherd’s Reign! I connect with indigenous music more than any other music! Can’t explain it! Keep doing what you’re doing! I think you are making your ancestors proud!
At 45 years old I've seen metal change and diversify a lot over the 30 years I've been listening to it but this is the heart and soul of metal, no matter what version of metal you're into this has to be heard.
Lifelong metalhead as well. I don't understand any of the words (I will find out) but as you said, this is the heart and soul of metal, the electrifying energy that just fills you up and makes you feel like you can do anything and this song in particular was so positively empowering and I am so happy that I was alive to listen to it. It's so awesome to see how worldwide METAL is. I honestly didn't know that Polynesians and island people were into hard music until I saw this. My girlfriend was born and raised in Hawaii and she hardly knew anything about metal until she met me, so I had the impression that they only listened to the usual rap/hip hop stuff down there. But this band proves me wrong and I'm glad!

I love people that are proud of their own culture. It takes a lot of creativity to present it in such an epic way. People are just copying each other, not making anything new really. While as we can see here the solution is right in our roots. That's true authenticity.
We're learning the Haka in our platoon for when we graduate OSUT at Ft. Benning. 1 of our guys is Samoan, we used to say Iron Maidens now its Fasi Mea Uma. That means kill everything. Charlie 3-54 4th Platoon Chaos Company

Vikings are just ice samoans, but yeah.
@@Zachary- I can see it both ways lol, But man, Im of scandinavian heritage but wow those samoans are scary!
Samoans. YOU LITERALLY ROCK!!!!!!
I think the Samoan language sounds great with heavy metal
tbdinh78 Polynesian dances and songs go well with metal because of the intensity.
@@bronsonperich9430 so like.. if dmx weren't a cracked out has been... so, intensity... you say?
answered my own question there
Michael J. Mates comparing DMX with these guys is neither relevant or necessary.
Ask me this question again when you can show me that you understand one Polynesian culture sufficiently to draw parrallels between metal and the dance forms of that culture.
That being I’m a fan of both DMX and these guys.
@@bronsonperich9430 it is if i say it is and i say it is which is totally not the point either way...
don't care about your culture, so im not going play ball in that park or any other thing you've mentioned. these guys suck at english the more you talk. let me say that again: these guys suck the more you talk.
i was startin like 'em
now it's all MANUer
Michael J. Mates this thread was MANUer free till you showed.

Thank you for the translation!! I may be Samoan but my Samoan language skills are terrible 😅😂
Cassidy Steltzer aua ke popole.
This slaps. As a samoan, we barely have this type of music in our culture.
Need more of it too polymetal I call it now
Sao
Metal is a universal sound for any language and culture
That’s true! Metal is worldwide! All music is!!!
As a Samoan who completely loves heavy metal and rock- this is sooooo firrrreeeee 🔥🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭
Ive always loved heavy metal music but to see samoans in a band like this makes me feel so freakin proud
For years I felt like a leper, always looked at sideways for having an affinity for Rock/Metal. The mindset to only like Rap or Reggae is a stigma within our people that needs to be broken. Love the rendition usoz. Keep it up, I’m a fan.
My 60yr old mother listened to this now she's The Rock..
Le Manu! Rock Hard!
Different in Welly. Caught this fulla listening to Disturbed one morning. Teens listening to some kinda heavy band and everyone joins in if its a classic!
Love from the UK to Samoa! Amazing culture!
Is this what the usos use to say when they use to come out with they’re old entrance ?
@@AyeGee721 I listen to a lot of Brutal stuff. Grew up on Hip Hip, RnB and Reggae. All I listen to now is Death Metal. I'm from Auckland. We are a rare breed 😆
CHEE FRiCKIN HOO!! i've been waiting all my life for Polynesians to catch the vision of heavy metal sound with our roots. Who wants to help me make Mate Ma'a Tonga. With all respect to these dudes for doing this first!
Have you seen alien weaponry? They sing in maori and are heavy metal bro
love that band
@Cellar Door well dis band is made up of Maori, Samoan and Asian musos so dey just carrying on da legacy i gues.
The rest world of the world divided on culture and colour and metal fans just be like metal is metal, great song
Metal is like the musical equivalent of Esperanto.
Can't think of anything more true 👍👍👍
Thats what makes metal so great
Heck yea I partied it up with an El Salvadorean metal band after a concert and ended up doing a bass jam session with them. Great time! Rowdy group.
Oohh heck yeahh🤘🏻
The Hu, Alien Weaponry n now Shepherds Reign. I don't understand any of the lyrics...but damn this goes extra hard!!! This is what music is all about. The soul of it s what speaks. And the soul of these guys is nothin but a proud warrior soul. All love to my Samoan brothers and sisters!! Served with many of y'all while enlisted in the USMC.
Love to my brothers in Samoa from Tonga. Rock on brothers 😤 keep breaking the boundaries set before us!!!
For those that don’t know, these fellas are doing a metal cover of the Samoan National Anthem. And man this rocks 🤘🏾🔥 I can dig samoans that don’t just do the traditional reggae/rap tunes.
Victor Piuila nah bro - its the Siva Tau. The national anthem is called “The Banner of Freedom”.
The Hu, Alien Weaponry, these guys. Metal is going into an awesome tribal route
I understand nothing but i love every second of it, tape it to ya ear!
These are those air boxing your dad in the room after he gives you a hiding songs hahaha.
Then you unpack your bag that you packed and realize you ain't got no where to run away too hahahaha

Ok guys. I’m an East Coast , Mainland, Old School MetalHead, and have no clue what your lyrics mean , but you guys kick some serious ass. Carry on ! Awesome stuff. New fan.

FREAKING A!!! Tribal Jungle Metal?! I'm down!!!!
This randomly came up in 9gag. I instantly shared and subscribed. This is awesome.
aahahaha make the same x)
Same here xD
Same for me.
Same mate!
Whee! Same!
As a Polynesian, this makes me F**KIN proud to see this .... DON'T EVER PUT US OUT OF A BOX EVER AGAIN!
I'm not Polynesian at all, but I absolutely fkin agree with you.
Dude, this shit is fucking fire. His vocals are aggresive and the language makes it sound even more ruthless. I love this!
I did not understand all of the language, but the spirit understands the emotion. Brothers in metal, there is a sister on the other side of the world who hears you. \m/
Because of the show Vikings the Norse spirit stirred. And then the Hu popped up and then Alien Weaponry now this band. The small nations spirit roared and now people have more respect to older and forgotten cultures and people's.
I never knew Samoan metal existed now I'm proud to be living in the pacific
if anyone wants to know, and is from new Zealand, these guys will be touring with devilskin this year. tickets are on sale tomorrow I think
Nice
I never realized I needed Pacific Islander power metal in my life until now, and I'm here for it 🤘
As I understand it, Polynesians came to trade with Peruvian natives in the Middle Ages. The thought that my ancestors (I'm Peruvian) had contact with the powerful Polynesians fills me with pride
2 of my favorite things put together 🥰 my pride of being an Islander and heavy metal
And another country with insane music. Love it. Metal will unify us no matter we are. Thanks for this sound.
Where are they from? Never heard this language

Metal Samoano! Wonderful. The new sepultura.
Roman reigns needs this song as his entrence with the usos
Brah. I was just thinking that or maybe him and the Uso team up and use this lol
Aint it
Yeeess
The Hu, Heilung and now Shepherd’s Reign! I connect with indigenous music more than any other music! Can’t explain it! Keep doing what you’re doing! I think you are making your ancestors proud!
Bloodywood, amon amarth, alien weaponry
At 45 years old I've seen metal change and diversify a lot over the 30 years I've been listening to it but this is the heart and soul of metal, no matter what version of metal you're into this has to be heard.
Lifelong metalhead as well. I don't understand any of the words (I will find out) but as you said, this is the heart and soul of metal, the electrifying energy that just fills you up and makes you feel like you can do anything and this song in particular was so positively empowering and I am so happy that I was alive to listen to it. Hell of a thing.
I will listen to this band every morning to start my day off on a good note. Absolutely incredible.

@The Australian Rationalist awesome!
I proclaim this as: Native Metal.
I have no idea what they’re saying but I understood every word.
Got to love youtube's recommendations
