I can dig this five par5t tree. There is so much going on I understand why you made these five parts. I don’t climb. Heck I am a 62 yr. old brick and stone mason. I use a lot of ropes in my work. You guys are right there for each other all the time. Love it
Another great video. One thing that really impressed me is that you did that whole black oak in a T-shirt. Every time I worked a black oak without long sleeves my arms ended up looking like I got in a fight with a badger; and lost.

Loved the addition of a sling to prevent spinning. Simple solution I've never considered on a small piece but would have saved some frustration and pain.

Good Idea sending up water bottle of gas to fill the saw instead of sending heavy saw down the rope and then back up. I like the way you guys solve problems and invent new ways of doing things
HI August, nothing like unwinding after a long day with a big blow down red oak that was in torsion three ways, loaded a maple in a twist and ants...did i mention ants.... my hands are doing that buzzing nerve thing from many many tanks of gas through the husky. I loved every minute of it and look forward to more tomorrow. I really mean it , it is nice to unwind with one of your videos. my brain is still in chainsaw mode. Right on, George.
18 Year's this week since I learned my climbing knot, put a saddle on, & trimmed my first tree professionally. Was joking with the young kid at work how I'm an absolute surgeon with my saws. (I am good but that's still a joke) August makes me look like an amateur, what a conplete cut master.
Awesome saw. I had one years ago, but mine didn't have any mods and just a 16inch bar. I sure loved that saw even though I wasn't an arborist. Yours is a beast, wow. You guys do an awesome job. Great video. 😎👍

When you said "The Most Legendary Tree Climber Chainsaw Ever Made", I was thinking of the legendary model 1114 Stihl 020 produced in the -70s and -80s and still used professionally way up in the the 90s till the model 1129 Stihl 020t came out.

I have (4) 200T’s. All still riding the shelf. CS2511T’s nimble and capable. Have (3). CS355T’s. 14”, 16” 18”ported. Have (4). Most dependable and comfortable trim saws to date. Do have the ECHO battery trim. Very slick for evening or city work. I use the 200’s every now and then. Feels heavy and clunky for most work. They are capable of excellent performance when everything is right. Mine are not equal from one day to the next. I like the ECHO’s for day in. Day out consistentcy. Thanks August and crew. @@Nawlzilla I run 3/8LP semi-chisel that I grind with a 3/16” wheel. Tuff fast-cutting and more durable. Not knocking what anyone else likes though… Doesn’t break and good for many more sharpenings. CS2511T with 12” bar and 3/8LP does 85% of all my cutting. Even though we have roughly 50 saws of all makes and models.
Span rigging can be a saving grace in some occasions, but is slower & can be harder to hit an exact point when lowering the first cut. It's really nice for the climber though, because he doesn't have to have the rope swung to him every time. Definitely a good technique to have in the toolbox.

The 200T is a badass saw I've used them my whole career I've use them so long I remember when the body was aluminum and not plastic not sure what is was called then that was at least 34 years ago but the over all design hasn't changed.

Wish I could find one of those bars. They don't seem to be available anywhere in the UK. My modded 020T has the 14" micro picco bar, but would really like the 16" panther bar. Love your vids, the saws are great too.
Not hating just sharing my own experience - instead of using two ropes at the end when you were on that dog leg, I would suggest terminating the rigging line just below your cut and using a light duty block/pulley for a span rigging scenario. I saw you use spam rigging at the beginning of the video but I think you could have used it again when chucking down that wood. Personal it is my favorite way to get wood down without so much swing. Love you guys thanks for all the content!
I’d like to see how Jeff is handling that rope down the bottom to control the limb drops. i.e. is it choked up on something and does he just let it run through his gloved hands?

August the panther bar you have on your 200t that you're using do you have to get anything else any kind of kit or anything to make it fit on there or all I need is the bar and chain to order from you
You'll also need the sprocket for the 1/4 pitch chain.... can buy it in a kit from MB. With that setup you feel like you have a scalpel in your hand !! They may not last as long but I'm like August and feel it's worth it... Absolutely Love mine 😊

Hi, I just got on MB website and the only bar length they have right now is the 10" (seems EVERYTHING is hard to get now) what August has on his is the 20" You could call an talk to Evan to see what kind of wait time to expect ? But all you need to order is the 20" panther kit for your particular saw. Comes with the sprocket, bar and two chains. Sorry bout that !!
It's actually super easy.... I just used a battery hammer drill to get the nut off the sprocket then it's just put the new one back on and slide the bar an chain on !! If you can get one I'm very sure you'll love it 😊
If you set a tight vertical slide line to the base of the tree, you can use that to pull those belly rigs over, probably a lot more significantly than what happened here...just a thought...

@@AugustHunicke Yeah, it's just the angle of the lens supplied to be typically used in "normal" cases on those GoPros, etc., really exaggerates the height of the tree you are in. Just quite a bit wider angle than the 50mm lens on my old Nikon SLR. I view everything through my recollections of my experiences shooting through the lens onto my beloved Kodachrome. Alas, no longer.
Hey guys. I'm not sure if I missed it somewhere, but who does the sharpening of your chains? I'd imagine whomever it is has it pretty dialed in and in fear of their job. Nothing worse than being in tree and having a not-so sharp chain.

That first cut with the webbing sling spider leg was some of the most pro shit I have ever seen.

Your termination knot should have been on the right instead of block correct? Even if the terminated end is higher it would still move towards that.

Get a new adjustable flip line and a cambium saver. You’ll learn what you like best along the way.
