An enjoyable watch as always Mr C. Rather than go to the expense of buying small profile carving chisels (Oh I said chisels too!), I fashioned a small 2mm skew and a small scraper from a couple of dead jigsaw blades and mounted them both in some home made palm type handles. Great for tight nooks and crannies and cost next to nothing. It's amazing how often I reach for these. Another neat idea was to grind the pointy bit off an old small pozi drive screwdriver, this make a cool plus shaped embossing tool for backgrounds and embellishments. Looking forward to (Miss) piggy (ha ha). All the best mate.
Great video Clint!! |
I started dabbling in wood carving and whittling recently and loving this 30 days of relief carvings
Thanks Mattie! I hope you have fun creating some cool stuff

Ah that's a great idea, I've heard of people using drill bits before but never a jigsaw blade. I might give that a go, cheers Stephen!
Looks good 👍
Cheers Phil!
It would be difficult to make a video about carving and not say 'chisel' lots of times. Very nice job as always Clint, thanks mate.
Hahaha well that's a good point! Thanks for watching as always mate, appreciate it
Really like this series of videos. What kind of wood is this?
This is lime/linden wood, very similar and essentially the same as basswood
Clint, any chance you saved or have the original design in PDF or something transferable? This looks fun
I haven't but...I think that's a great idea. I'll work out getting the patterns made for each carving!
I’d be happy to purchase. It would be cool to set up the project like you have. Great idea
I do sometimes make templates available on Patreon. Maybe I'll do that for this one, we'll see
I tried this few years ago in mahogany,i gave up to harder wood for beginners,
