    Gotta love installing PEX instead of metal or PVC. Either soldering, gluing or sealing and screwing eleven million little pieces together to make up one run.
    Around here, we usually install double-walled PEX (normal PEX inside a second sheath), so if the PEX somehow bursts, it can only get out one of the ends and you can pull a new PEX pipe through the sheath without having to take half the house apart.

    Happy music covers the hard fact that pushing pex for an entire house is physically very demanding work. But attention to detail and you'll have a great build, and no sweating copper. Turning a dream into reality. Wonderful! We don't need Trump to make America great. It always will be as long as there are folks like this. And there are many! Outstanding.

    According to plumbing code, drain pipe has to be sloped a minimum of 1/4-inch per foot and a maximum of three inches per foot or vertical. A slope of less than 1/4-inch per foot will cause constant drain clogs and a slope of more than three inches will allow the water to drain without the solids.

      That's what I was about to say. An eighth per ten feet is basically level. 2.5" per ten feet for the win!

      NOT AN ISSUE .most couples would have already beaten or killed eachother by now.pretty amazing what they do as a team. Erin keeps right up with Josh and sometimes pulls ahead in the race to finish projects LOL.
      There definitely meant for eachother in a very good way.

    Electricians are not weak. I love how you adapted with the Sawzall for the four inch hole, my dad always said, “do what you can with what you have where you are.” That’s what separates technicians from installers. You guys are the best, keep going!

    Great Job Guys. I noticed the pex pipes are very close to the plywood floor in the loft. If you are going to nail a finish floor or anything be careful you don’t put a nail thru the pex pipes. Take some photos for future use. I’ve put a nail thru pex, didn’t leak until a week or two. You are really moving fast, very impressive‼️👍👍🔨. Stay Safe👍 Vinny 🇺🇸

    Josh you should ream DWV each time previous to glueing, reason is because barbs from sawing catch solids! I would come into sewer main whenever possible from the top with y's! Just my experience of 50 years of plumbing!

    I love watching you guys work together. Your project is great. I'm not a plumber but one thing I know is 3/4" pipe has more than twice the volume of water as 1/2" pipe. Every time you use one faucet you have to fill up that 3/4" pipe with hot water before it gets to the faucet. This means it's going to take more than twice as long for hot water to get to that faucet than if you used 1/2" pipe. Also, all that extra heated water is wasted. When I did my house I ran individual 1/2" pipes to a manifold at the water heater. I look forward to your next video.

    • @colstace2560

    Impressed so far with the skills and knowledge of how to do all these trade skills. Somebody was paying attention in class is all I got to say. It’s rare to find someone with the actual skills to preform all those tasks properly there’s a lot of people that can tell you how it’s suppose to be done but not many that can actually do the work Great Job.

From a professional though, well done. Couldn't have done a better job myself. Looks great. And thanks for allowing my wife and I to follow you on your journey with these video's. You guys are inspiring.

      Pex doesn't like air nailers or any nails, I was helping a friend move into a new house guys wife was hanging pictures between loads slipped on water on floor ooops, Pex was nailed. Had to bust wall open and repair. Try and keep Pex in the middle of stud wall

    Pex is bendable however I like to imagine its copper. You use the flex to your advantage but when you drill your holes you want those as straight as possible. Makes things A LOT easier and looks way better. Everything should be nice and square

    Nice job you two! I earned my Master Plumbers license 23 yrs ago. ( I remember when Pex was a brand new product.) In my humble opinion. You did this job Very Well! Congratulations! I applaud you both! I noticed you used lots of glue and primer. Smart! And the brass pex fittings were a wise choice too, as opposed to the black plastic. Plumbing that you use every day and take for granted is good plumbing. I think you'll have that.

    I like the content and the good natured banter between ya'll. Nice to see a couple that works well together. I have to do our house 6 hours from where we currently live, so rarely my beautiful wife around. I like the redundant laser level ( measure off the level floor above) and Josh use that torpedo level in your electrical tool belt when glueing wyes and tees, makes joints plumb. Contrary to statement of draining that more is better; too much slope drains liquids fast and leaves the solids behind. Nice Work!

    Accolades, only accolades. Humor is the highest form of humility, can't thank you enough. The two of you are frankly too much! I love watching the two of you accomplish the dream and document the process. Mate, partner, companion ... what a joy to observe with a front row seat. On a sidebar, having just burned up my first Milwaukee Sawzall after years of service. There are more often times than not that I think it should have been referred to as a "skill" saw. Josh is quite the Craftsman and you are quite the study. God bless you, your endeavors, and all of those you hold dear.

    Great job! Hubby is watching you regularly and enjoys your working together and creativity.
    We've done contracting for years, mostly retired now. He's 71 years old. We've had to change out a couple of shower risers from 1/2" to 3/4" after the homeowners found out their shower dripped. The inside diameter of PEX is smaller than the inside of copper and seems to cause the problem with some shower valves.
    Great job raising animals and kids and teaching the kids your skills. You seem to be very intelligent and have a great relationship.

    • @JamesCouch777
      @JamesCouch777 6 лет назад +5

      @soaringtractor when you flush they get plenty. At least keep the washing machine and bath water out. It will save you a ton of trouble down the road. I've had many septic systems over the years.

    • @corydriver7634
      @corydriver7634 6 лет назад +5

      soaringtractor James Couch is right on this one. There is plenty of water flushing -and running the gray water (shower/sinks/washer) into the septic fills the bio tank too quick for the bacteria to breakdown solids plus bleach from the wash and other household cleaners will hinder bacteria growth. Bacteria in a septic system is your friend.
