    Great to see a tech tour/booth makeover from a church that is not a mega church.
    Puts things in much more of a useable and relatable context. Thank you.

    We also just did a major renovation to our stage and av booth this week. And the biggest move is upgrading from analog mixer to Behringer x32. Really excited and nervous on setting it up.

      We got an x32 last year, and other than the power supply blowing up and taking 5 months to get fixed, everyone just loves it. A Pearl2 for video and 3 Panasonic PTZ cameras. I hate to say it but if it wasn't for COVID, I doubt that the congregation would have spent the money. Oh yah, BACKUP YOUR FINAL CONFIGURATION TO A USB STICK. I didn't and when the board came back, I had to manually reload everything 😞

    Hey Dylan and Kade this was an awesome video and it really showcased a nice, new and fresh workstation. You both put on "The Best" videos for churches across the country to learn and grow for A/V technology! Our church would not have a live stream that was worth its weight to the viewers if it wasn't for your meticulous video tutorials in the member section of CW. Since I am a member of Collaborate Worship (CW) I use it all the time to train our new A/V volunteers / members on our Midas M32 console. Your CW site is invaluable to small churches around the country and I thank you both for your continued support with these videos and important sound engineering tips. P.S. I am also in the process of using Vocal Tuning for our live stream based on a video guest talk you had a few months ago. Keep these inspiration videos coming! God Bless!

    Hi Dylan and Kade. Really enjoy your work, and the blogs and videos.
    Noted you are looking at maybe StreamDeck. Our streaming setup an ATEM Television Studio and we use OBS as the streamer (and also use ProPresenter 7). I am a TV Engineer, so my life has been working in this environment. But our team is very amateur and volunteers, so we introduced bit-by-bit some StreamDecks. The first was a 5x3 switch. It worked well, but then I added Companion software and discovered I could use the StreamDeck to control the ATEM, the Hyperdeck, as well as OBS, and we could start to run several functions off a single StreamDeck button press. We added a second StreamDeck XL (8x4) and integrated the ATEM and OBS, and then also discovered we could interface with the PTZ cameras as well - so we added another StreamDeck XL, and then also built in the integration with ProPresenter 7. We can also integrate with the X32, and we use that to mute floor foldbacks, and even the livestream audio if needed. So now we can, with a single button press, complete a number of required functions that in a live environment would need 2 people, or would create stress and anxiety: the single button press can (for example) select the input from the ATEM, select a scene from OBS, and play a video, or a slide (or combination of slides) from ProPresenter. And of course, the actual functions on each device still work fine in case of a failure of the Companion Software or StreamDeck appliance.
    That is without doubt the best set of additions to the Control Room since we started live streaming. The controls are easy and integrate most of the control surfaces into a single panel (or panels) if necessary. I highly recommend that path as an easy transition for volunteers!!! Happy to send pics of our setup if you are interested. I(We are a small church - congregation ~ 50-70 in these post-covid lockdown days)

      This is great! I've used a stream desk for small home studio operations and love it. It is definitely something we want to implement at church, just like you have explained. I'd love to see pictures of your setup. Send them to kade at collaborateworship.com

    Our church is out in the country with no high speed internet access. Streaming over 2 cans connected by a string just does not cut it. However our area is in line to get fiber internet sometime in 2022 so we will be able to stream our services. So, I would love to see something a little more in depth using ATEM. We record our services now but do not have the capability to include the pastor's PPT slides other than panning the PTZ camera back and forth between a screen and the pulpit. Recording is happening on one Mac while PowerPoint is running from another Mac. I've been told ATEM is the way to go.

    • @sutersp
      @sutersp 2 года назад

      You could use OBS running on a Laptop or Desktop to integrate your camera feed with slides, and can do picture in picture etc. Once your fibre is in place, you can just add a streaming destination in your OBS (free software) to immediately deliver to your end destination (youtube, Facebook or web-page)
      Certainly, the ATEM can do it also, but as a first option, you could try OBS and get a feel for what it can do for free before committing to a hardware device.

    • @collabworship
      @collabworship  2 года назад

      I second what Paul said. OBS can do what you are looking for. The difference between OBS and ATEM is OBS is software-based switching whereas ATEM is hardware-based. So, you'll need a decent computer for OBS. We have it in our queue to create videos on both, so make sure you are subscribed to our email list so we can let you know: collaborate-worship.ck.page/b77b3798c9

    Hey, I am head of A/V at St. Paul Thorndale, Tx and we are in need of some upgrades. Our sound booth is basically a hole in the wall to a small room in the back of the sanctuary. We have an upstairs space (Choir Loft) but that is where our organ is and it wouldn't be great for sound. Not much space between the back of the sanctuary and the first row of pews. We are working on upgrading our live streaming setup and could use some recommendations but the real problem is the space. Any Ideas?

    • @collabworship

      Can you get away with sacrificing some seating to build a booth right in the back of the seating arrangement? (like we have ours in the video)

      We used a TV we had available. It is 45". However, it could be a bit bigger. Probaly 60" would be more appropriate. It is about 45' from the stage.

    Do you have a preference for playing tracks from your PC to Behringer X32. I am currently using Windows Media Player. I have been trying to find a better software to do this with. I constantly have guests singers come in 5 minutes before service and lay down a handful of cd’s. Windows Media Player is not the best at ripping tracks off and putting them in order. Just feel like there is a better way of doing this. Nice setup!

    $100 each for the chairs? To be spending this much money when it can go to the needy, how absurd. Or, how many bibles could be given out for this price? What about the hungry roaming the streets?

    • @collabworship
      @collabworship  2 года назад +3

      You talk as if God has a limited supply of resources. Far from the truth. Trust me, God can handle buying a few chairs while continuing to care for the needy. -Kade
