in 2012 the sugnature ubers had an extension technique added onto them...ni fact this happened in Tricky to SSX 3 as well. i'll give an example. in Tricky Zoe's Pommel Me she does a breakdance then just goes straight back to her board...you can't carry it on. in SSX 3 you can carry it on for as long as you like until you let go of the button. in 2012 Zoe not only carries it on barrel rolls on her board. people complain about how you land so improbably on 2012...but that is because the game is much harder...they are cutting you some slack in the landing department.
As others have said, it's just way more lax about letting you land before the animation finishes. They made it easier to land since the game is faster and more chaotic, basically the same reason you don't have to balance rails. I think the guy who made this video should have let the animations finish before landing just to show the whole trick.

Glad I wasn’t the only person thinking this. Plus, when removing super-memorable tricks like Kaori’s Pirouette Grind from the respective character, I could barely recognize Zoe and Psymon! 😅
I actually like how they made 2012 make more "sense" in a certain way with less moves where the board would obviously float away while it's flipping. Just having them keep kicking it while it flips, etc. Looks a bit less silly. Big exception is still guillotine which still looks very silly. Also why did Psymon seem to glitch sideways during it?
if Tyson, Sid and Skye had signatures i would pick these (personal opinion). Tyson: PT (the one where the character uses the board as an electric guitar) Sid: Spreader (the one where the character does the splits and hold the board underneath them, this seems fitting for Sid because he is all about Yoga and Kung Fu) Skye: Whirly Bird (this is similar to the old Triple H only after Skye spins the board over her head she spins herself the other way once)
