I don't think there is a video like this out there, which is a real shame since the cheat characters can be a lot of fun. So, I decided to make one! Hope it will be helpful and fun to watch, enjoy the video and be safe! Which clip was your favorite?
Small note: I made a typo, it's Canhuck, not Canuck.
No cheat characters have any voice lines, unfortunately. Also, the ones with an altered size (Stretch, Far East Myth etc.) are normal size when played in Conquer the Mountain. You can only get their true size in Single Event. Finally, the cheat characters will take the uber tricks that your main character has. So for instance if you're playing Kaori but using the Eddie skin, he will know Kaori's uber tricks.
HOW TO UNLOCK:
Cheat codes are entered exactly as written and in all lowercase.
Brodi: Buy in a peak 1 lodge - or enter cheat code zenmaster
JP: Buy in a peak 1 lodge - or complete the peak 1 lodge
Marisol: Buy in a peak 1 lodge - or complete the peak 1 lodge
Eddie: Buy in a peak 2 lodge - or enter cheat code worm
Luther: Buy in a peak 2 lodge - or enter cheat code bronco
Seeiah: Buy in a peak 2 lodge - or complete the peak 2 lodge
Marty: Buy in a peak 2 lodge - or enter cheat code back2future
Hiro: Collect all trading cards - or enter cheat code slicksuit
Svelte Luther: Collect all toys - or enter cheat code notsosvelte

Too bad they didn't include their Tricly voices. After seeing these characters in this game I see why they decided to take this into a more cool and atmospheric direction.
Right? It would've been nice. I wonder if it was a contractual issue, maybe they didn't have the rights to re-use it for another game?

Nice vid Daggy. The Cheat characters have long been poorly documented on the SSX Wiki. I always wondered if the larger characters like Stretch could knock down other characters more easily or whether it was simply a re-skin on the same character rig.
Thanks Ben, appreciate it ^^ yeah, a lot of documentation for posterity for this game is missing or lacking, so that's a large part of the reason why I'm doing this. Can you believe there was no footage of Far East Myth accessible anywhere? Unfortunately they're all just reskins with no different properties like knockdown power, though. :P
Gotta love Jurgen and Hiro "from SSX 2000" but they certainly don't look like themselves. Would have been epic of half of the OG characters that are also in Tricky would have apeared with their original models and of course for Jurgen and Hiro to also have their own models. This is a great video! I don't think I ever knew how to unlock them all, well I only found out there were cheat characters once I stopped regularily playing the game.
Thank you Queenie :) yeah, I don't know why they chose to make new character models of the SSX 2000 characters... it felt off to me, even as a kid who hadn't even played OG before. And yeah, hopefully this will document this stuff for posterity and make it easier to find in the future!
Just beat wacked all of the peaks with my boy Viggo , It said I unlocked a cheat character and I was like 😳 lol this gave the game way more replay value than it already had .. Thank you so much ! 👍
Good video. Nice trick combos too with no wipeouts. That can be so hard to do. Had so much fun playing with the old Tricky characters. It took so long to unlock the harder ones. It was a nice touch that EA Sports did with the series characters along with the joke ones.
Thank you Evan ^^ yeah, having easter eggs and stuff like this is always a nice addition to a game. Just gives it some more personality, as well as function as a very nice callback for long-term fans.

could have used this 10 years ago, instead of one of them cheat books which never had SSX cheats in them :@ haahha nice bro

That's a pretty major omission, sounds like you didn't get your money's worth! I didn't own any cheat books but I had friends that did and all of them had the SSX ones (granted, some were missing which is pretty funny). But now, anyone with a working internet connection can get the cheats AND even see some gameplay first!
It tells you how to unlock each character in the lodges...
When you did the Pirouette Grind with Unknown, it looked like Shinobin doing his special trick in Snowboard Kids!

Nice showcase. I got the Xbox Original version of this game which I play on Xbox One along with Destroy All Humans and Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. I didn't know Stretch has a unique Uber trick of his own. I like this and SSX On Tour on the GameCube. I also like the newer SSX because I played it on EA Access.
Thank you very much. Yeah, On Tour and 2012 are also very fun games for sure. It's good that you're playing it on Xbox One, the decision to add it to the backwards compatibility program really has been a nice one.
@@Daggy898 I think SSX 3 and Skate 3 are some of the best sports games to be backwards compatible on Xbox One. Surprisingly my Xbox disc of SSX 3 has audio skips and freezes on my Original Xbox, but plays like new on the Xbox One. This leads me to believe that PS3, PS4 and Xbox One game discs are basically access keys that downloads the game and you must use the disc to show proof of owning that game. One thing though is can you curse less because my parents won't be proud of me watching a dude using bad language.

Something about backwards compatibility is that in 2018 THQNordic got the Nick license back and rerelease a lost SpongeBob game called UnderPants Slam. I thought in my head "What's the point of rerelease it if you are making it backwards compatible?" All they can do is get the THQ SpongeBob games backwards compatible: Battle for Bikini Bottom, Movie Game, Lights Camera Pants, UnderPants Slam and Truth or Square. Maybe in the Series X they will appear even though I'm not holding my breath.
Whatever emulator Microsoft just paid for or made is pretty great. I'm not usually a person who expect emulators to be perfect and don't usually care about lag or glitches, but this is great.
Actually This version of JP is from SSX tricky 2001.

Yeah, that's true. In the cases where a character appears in multiple games, I just opted for their earliest possible appearance, it was easiest that way :)

Ah, Far East Myth. The only one I've never unlocked.
You're not missing much. It's just a recoloured NW Legend. Was a bit annoyed myself when I got 100% and that was the reward.
A few people have noted that there was previously no video footage of it anywhere on RUclips, that's a big part of what motivated me to make this video in the first place. Like Craig said, it's kind of a lackluster unlock, the size change would've been funny if it wasn't already done with NW Legend...

I think there has to be, considering his cheat code entry is "finallymadeitin". It has to have been something they were sitting on for a while!
@@Daggy898 imagine if it's Mix Master Mike, or Atomika in person? Mix was playable via cheat in Tricky, so it is possible
So good to know but Some big challenge are hard/ annoying but lets go ! It should ne Nice to have a presentation with all monster tricks too ( i cant do them all, dont know why .. )

When I enter cheat The characters are not there.. I tried also pressing done afterwards but nothing (xbox one)

is anybody hacking it up on dolphin to put voices in or let regular characters use the special ubers?
When you unlock them, doesn't the game refresh and take them away? (The next time you open the game)
It doesn't get rid of the cheat character. The game just resets it to the character you're playing as. So you just have to re-equip the cheat character in the lodge.

Yup, Craig's got it covered! In essence, if playing in Single Event, I think you need to re-equip it every run (because every run is regarded as a separate play session), in Conquer the Mountain it will last until you turn off the game (or exit to main menu, I think).
Luther has a cheat code as well if you type in bronco.

Its a shame that I love gutless but I hate how big his board is since its a coffin. Would be awesome to use him with a regular snowboard.
Yeah, I wish the cheat characters were a little customizable too. I don't particularly mind the larger board, but it would be nice to be able to decide that yourself.

I just bought it tonight I had issues with my Xbox card Xbox helped me out now I’m playing my favorite classic right now before I go on my hospital shift in a few hours I’m soo happy I just need ssx tricky and I’m golden

Right? I do understand it, they had a banging cast of voice actors in Tricky and it would be expensive and difficult to get them all back once again, but it's still kind of unfortunate. Wonder if it was against their agreement to re-use some of the voice lines from Tricky?
Were you playing on xbox or ps2. I used to play on ps2 but my friend and I recently got the new xbox and the controls are so much harder to do tricks w boost etc
Hey, sorry about the late reply! This was done on a PS2 emulator actually, so it was on PC but with PS controls. You're 100% right with the Xbox controls being worse, it's kind of unfortunate but unless you're also on an emulator, there's not much that can be done :/
so there is one question that i have always wanted an answer to and i apologise in advance if this is a long explanation but i just want to make it clear what i'm getting at. ok so...eddie, brodi, marisol, seeiah, marty, luther, hiro...they are all wearing their signature costumes right? the costume that was like their main one or primary costume from their most recent game...makes sense and i like this a lot. but WHY does Jurgen wear only overalls? did they forget that he has a signature outfit too? it was a red n black jacket with blue pants and his helmet, gloves n boots were grey. why did they change Jurgen? he looks almost as stupid as svelte luther now! can someone please answer this for me?

also on another note i have never been able to unlock the Far East Myth...i think i unlocked the beaver once...but that was so hard. i also love the concept of the unknown rider...too bad he was never brought back.
Do the cheats work on the backwards compatible digital copy? I can't seem to get them to work no matter what I try.

Nice, good to hear you were able to find it :) And nah, you can't play it on PC. You can use an emulator on PC, but that's still playing a console version of course.
Interesting that they made signature ubers for some of them but not all of them, maybe they ran out of time?
Most likely, they were limited by the amount of data they were able to record onto the disc, so they prioritised other things over some animations for characters most people were never going to see.
That's probably what happened. Likely was a very low priority and therefore there was always something else to do before it.
@@Daggy898 The GameCube disc has smaller amount and SSX 3 has a GameCube version so they might have to keep the three game system versions identical as possible.

When trying to enter the cheats, you mean? Are you typing it in the "Enter Cheats" menu? Other text boxes only let you put 8 characters but in the cheats one you can put a lot more. In the main menu, look for where it says "Options" and press that button. From there, you should see "Enter Cheat".
I’m angry asf I never knew about cheats when I was younger I would’ve probably had so much fun lmaooo I sucked ass at this game but it’s still an all time favourite I used to just race and focus on winning so I never got any money 😭

NW Legend is supposed to be a rendition of Bigfoot, so it makes sense considering the context! That said, it's really trippy to play with him for that reason.
