Absolutely adored Blood Omen 2, I'd love a remaster, the voice acting was fantastic and the story was pretty neat. It's nice to see games like VAMPYR/Control/Werewolf the Apocalypse giving us the chance to play as more of an unconventional protagonist. I feel like most games make the bad guy the coolest character and you're just MEH and never have some kind of powerful/feeling of cool gratification.
I liked how you had telekinesis in Control, something used in some of the Legacy of Kain games. Blood Omen 2 was linear, but I always thought it was a great action/adventure with good dialogue. Kain is still one of my favorite characters.
@@perplexingperceptions8888 I think it's because they went with a different approach with this game compared to the others, I didn't really play the older Legacy of Kain games but that's what I think.
It sucks so many fans view this one with mixed feelings. I guess it's because I enjoy Kain as a character, but I loved playing as a young version of him. Raziel is just too cool for his own good. Even makes his old man play second fiddle to him
I honestly thought Raziel was always a bumbling know-nothing, and at the end of the game it was proven that his destiny was entirely secondary to Kain's. Raziel was always just supposed to die for Kain's sake, that's it.
The story is out of left field, and the gameplay is repetitive. I think the most fun thing about the game is getting a still very naive Kain. He trusts Umah, and he trusts Vorador, and he trusts that the other vampires in the Cabal has his back. Kain in this stage is still learning that he has to take matters into his own hands, and it illustrates the state of mind he'd be in when he raises the Sarafan as his lieutenants.
@@ArvelDreth people hated blood omen 2 because they expected to see continual of soul reaver 2 but for me who played blood omen 1 followed by two, without playing soul reaver because i had no playstation back then but they made a port for blood omen 2 ... i liked blood omen 2 very much.
Even though this is my least favourite game in the series I still love it a lot. I didn't like it at first but over the years it grew on me and I replayed it fondly
It had a very sadly troubled development cycle but I appreciate that for one, it wasn't saturated in block pushing puzzles, and for another thing it actually felt like an actual world. Soul Reaver 1 was a post apocalypse which was a fine excuse for the lack of civilization but it was so weird to me how in Soul Reaver 2 you never encountered a single human who wasn't just a vampire hunter. @@ArvelDreth You never really go to any towns, either. He mainly just hits up places full of people who _want_ to kill him, which is really his own fault.
I don't think you really know the series well, since Blood Omen 2 exists only to describe a different set of events because of a time paradox which have inconsistencies with the original timeline. So making a Blood Omen 3 means adding nonesense to the whole.
@@carlosaponte2349 when a paradox happens, the old time line dies off and a new one begins. "as raziel explain kain's emotions at the end of soul reaver 2." blood omen 2 continues after blood omen legacy of kain because of soul reaver 2. #ItsCannon.

I'm glad the game exists, but, it didn't really give me the LoK fix I wanted/needed back in 2002, because it slihgtly deviates in terms of lore and story and character design...feeling a bit incongruent with the work started with Soul Reaver 1.
@@carlosaponte2349 I'll spend a bit of time in trying to convince you otherwise, for I value you and love you. This is not to justify my own selfish desire to be socially superior in this conversation between us. The game could still be linear for the play that wishes to hack through the main story, but if it were an open world rpg to explore, there could be so much more flavor and adventure in it. You do realize it was always developed for consoles first? The first two (and the best two) games in the series, Blood Omen and Soul Reaver, were made primarily for the PS1. BO1's PC port came out a year later and SR1's PC port is a bad joke.
I have played the complete series on PC loved it, and completely disagree. The limiting hardware of the ps1 and ps2 was what made them use these limited ressources and create unique gameplay elements to compensate. Also the story around the same places and people, over and over is a direct byproduct of the hardware limitation of the time. which is what made this series so great. Also the PC ports are great and all games still work to this day. limited console tech was what actually created the need for this awesome storyline.
i love this game, the art design is so unique, not to mention the lore, i want remakes of this series so bad.
I honestly liked it better than either of the Soul Reaver games.
Not sure if they can pull it off in this era
I wish they could man this is truly the best game franchise ever made

That's because there are not many vampires games, especially ones that are action/adventure and story driven. Unfortunately.
