What an excellent choice, hardly anyone reacts to this one. Nice to see so much love and attention for Epica, as they absolutely deserve all of it.
@Zestful Zeitgeist True (for the first part of your statement), but then this is one entry point some people use to get into EPICA - and get hooked! We can't presume everyone will know EPICA from elsewhere. Whatever the listeners' motive, I would think it works for both bands. I rarely see Simone and the guys compared negatively to Floor and NIGHTWISH. They more than hold their own! And the song itself, while not the peak of EPICA's creativity by any means, is short enough for those uninitiated "to give it a shot", while presenting enough interesting moments to revisit the concert. If they do not react more, that only means we EPICA fans do not ask enough. :)
This one is rarely chosen for a reaction, which is a pity. What I like about Epica is the thing that since the beginnig of this band they really made the orchestra such a big part of its sound as that is not always the case in symphonic metal. Chasing the Dragon is a must, if you want to see what else they incorporated into this huge production. Something that I did not think I would see during a metal concert. :-)

What is even more impresive is that Coen ( keyboard guy) makes the orchestra and choir arrangements. They use real musicians to record the orchestra parts, they do not use samples. Epica deserves so much more recognition.
They never give half-measures, to be fair to them. "More Is More" seems to be their philosophy. 🤘🔥
Another Epica reaction...Awesome!!! So glad you guys are giving them the much needed love they deserve. Other channels just beat you over the head with Nightwish, not that that's a bad thing. It's just that there are other bands out there that deserve attention. Nightwish may be the most accomplished Symphonic Metal band but Epica is the most Badass Symphonic Metal band.

Epica sounds different and beautiful to me than any other symphonic metal band.
Now that you have heard and reacted to this one, I truly recommend to listen to the album version, the official track, it is absolutely awesome, enjoyed your reactions a lot!
I love both versions of the song, but the studio version is even more insane, I find. The arrangement here is more dynamic and shorter than the original studio version, which works very well for a show.
Anyways, I love your reactions and I reaaaaally like that you reacted to this particular song. It's not usually one that's reacted to.

The sound of the horns and the trombone is not really good for a professional recording xD
It is the same problem with the live at wacken from dimmu borgir. The sound is compressed so much, it doesn't sound like horns or trombones anymore. That's a bit sad. It would have sounded 10 times better with a better recording.
Simone is great and the band too. Just wonder why they have one person singing lows and one singing highs? Don't they have a Tatiana?
