Thanks Denise, I sometimes wish I could go home. I live in another country far from Canada, I don’t have my parents but sisters and brothers whom I miss so much! I wish I could have tea with my mom who passed in 1998 too young. You have inspired me to paint a table where Incan have tea with my mom! Love your videos. love and light to all here.
Always nice thoughts, thank you to share with us. I have a question more on the technical side. When you put acrylic on your neocolor crayons, do you apply “mat gel”before the acrylic? That was a nice revelation. I listened an other of your vlog when you explained that you used mat gel on pastels or charcoal. Thank you Denise!
Hi Lucie, With the neo color's you can use them over the top of acrylics or anything you like... but then... yes, I smear matte gel over the top of where I've used the crayons to seal them in..(I've found a palette knife works better than a brush, like thinly icing a cake rather than brushing over it and having it move) So then if I want to paint over the top I can... but most importantly... I find... I need to seal the water soluble crayon marks in so that they don't bleed or smudge their colour when I varnish at the end. I'm often using the crayon as a final mark... sometimes anyway... so... sealing over with the matte gel is that step before varnish... I mostly use a satin varnish lately (liquitex) I quite love the look of cold wax rubbed in as varnish... BUT... that is no good if you ever want to use acrylic over it later. Hope this helps. Oh Genie, I’m so sorry… it’s due to using my earbuds as I spontaneously think of things to say sometimes at my art table. Are you able to use headphones of any kind.. I find that works a lot better for me especially if there is background noise. And… I’ll try better to check my audio levels as I edit the vids. 🙏🏻☕️☕️

Since I can hear other creators just fine without headphones I’ll try to watch you via my phone rather than laptop.
