Good. Go. We'll be here to hear the disinformation about how happier you are and how much better it is overseas. But luckily we know you just do it because you can't accept and are to useless and cowardice to fix South Africa because the truth is you're part of the cause that landed South Africa in the position it is in at the moment
One year later November 2022 loadshedding is the worst it's ever been, so unfortunately those with degrees and good small businesses are packing up and leaving. However, I also know plenty of happy South Africans who are still here and as the saying goes in SA, even if one isn't Afrikaans, 'n boer maak 'n plan! In Cape Town we have the most amazing lifestyle. Some things, like instead of a national Post Office we have Postnet or similar postal services - all work very well. And if people can't afford to install an expensive inverter or generator to keep the lights on, then a small, inexpensive inverter will still keep wifi on. The taxis have taught me, in particular, tolerance, caution and patience. African Time is a Thing...😄 I would say the worst thing is always being safety conscious. I'm always careful where and when I shop, park, drive etc...but I've never had anything bad happen to me, like my car being stolen, or a hijacking, or a mugging, so I still feel relatively safe. For me, my home will always be in SA❤
Good content. I'm a South African living in Ecuador. A very beautiful country, and obviously safer. I enjoy being able to walk even in some not-so-safe areas and not get robbed and walk at night. Even though I'm still very vigilant (even if I was in the safest country in the world I'd still be; it must be because of the South African part of me). Having travelled and experienced other countries and cultures. I came to realize that SA is really a unique place; one of the megadiverse countries in the world, the vibe, food, people, etc. Take away the political stuff (racist and ignorant government that doesn't know what it's doing), take away the crime. And you literally have one of the best countries to live in. The heat is one of the things I didn't enjoy, I suppose given the geographical position of the country, that comes with it. Basically, I learned to appreciate the different cultures, languages, and just about everything else that the country offers.
Lol those dry hot days. I cannot. I lived in Pretoria for 6 yrs and never got used to that dry heat. So I was actually quite happy to get back to cape Town and be able to breathe again.
SA is extremely hot I agree with you which is sometimes annoying to say the least. Safety it's an issue in SA especially in Gauteng. I'm glad I moved out of Gauteng couldn't stand the feeling of always being terrified walking around the CBD. We all hate load shedding don't we? we had one yesterday.
Lol I lived in Pretoria for 6 years and had to commute to work and also worked in the cbd. I enjoyed it. I never felt threatened or anything. Pretoria has a special place in my heart though.
Africans always come back home 🇿🇦. I won’t be surprised to watch your future video talking about how you miss braaing outside despite the bugs, load-shedding 🚐. Imagine having a swimming pool, a big house, a nanny, friends, family, where everyone gets you. That is what home offers 😜.
@sarafina basetsana no need to be a keyboard warrior, just saying my parents made a decision to move our family and I can tell you as a kids we use to push our mattress into my parents bedroom because we were scared we would get murdered in our bed... I was 14 years old no 14 year old should live like that. Just my experience and my opinion ✌
Stop spreading your white fear dude. We still live in South Africa and its no more dangerous than any other country. I'm glad u dont want to come back, it wasnt your country in the first place.
Nou lekker gelag toe jy oor load shedding praat.. stem nogals saam met jou oor meeste van die stuff .. maar aag man die goggas is o.k ... jy moet admit met al die probleme en dinge in ons land bly die darem steeds 'n beautiful plek... en for the most part awesome mense.. geniet jou videos!
Watching this and laughing. My mzungu colleague packed and relocated to the UK in 2021 with family. 2023 I see her doing rounds in the office, small minded me thinks she is just visiting. Days pass by she is really working. Then we get to have a team lunch and were sitting at the same table, I got to ask if she is back for good. She started relating how bad life was and how terrible the weather was in the UK😅😅. Stuff heard on the internet can be interesting compared to reality.
Number 1 has to be loadshedding. 2022 has seen the worst loadshedding ever, and it has completely lowered the quality of life (what little quality there was). One of the big reasons I'm emigrating in the next month.
I was in the UK in 2016 and I loved their transport system, but I could never stand the weather, it was horrible for me, infact I almost shifted my flight to earlier.
😳I thought customer service was just for decoration, just to be professional, but always optimal and nonexistent and no one used it .can’t believe u tried it I want to leave ,crime ,government, entitlement ,idealism, laziness, the people ,I can’t wait to leave behind ,but too broke 💰to😔your lucky sis ,save yourself 👏
My son goes to work at 2:30 am in a taxi every workday of his life. He feels safer in the taxis, because of dense traffic, gets home also in a taxi every day by 2pm. Nothing strange. He grew up with black people in the platteland, not in the city. He is a white guy and it is normal for him
In Durban, the taxis to uMbilo/Davenport/Glenwood usually have white people. Meter taxis are expensive, the buses are unreliable so they too use taxis.
@@John-pl8fe your opinion, but imo SA is not a "shithole". A place is what you make it. I've never felt unsafe in the E Cape where I grew up, or in the W Cape, where I live now. There are some incredible places in SA, and the people are just the best.
I officially got my visa and booked my flight. I'm finally moving to the UK and I'm so excited.😁😁
I hope you like the great indoors....
Congratulations, that is very exciting!! Wishing you all of the best! Where in the UK are you moving to?

Loadsheadding was even before that, I remember us having it, all the way back in 2008, I also don't miss it 🤣
Wow, I can't believe it's still a thing after all this time! Thanks so much for watching by the way! Hope you guys are doing well! xxx

Something that is a wonderful feeling is just being able to walk to a shop and not feeling scared, soooo much saver in the uk
That's crazy I walk all time... You make a choice not to walk
I walk to the shop everyday, and i am not scared I live IN SA
Sure of course it is😂
Depends on which part of the UK you moved to. London and Manchester? Nah, like- HELL nah. 😬

Sam Good morning
I fully agree with our Taxis are seriously annoying when it comes to honoring traffic rules.
All the best living in the UK
No electricity how can you manage? Has that always been a thing, or is this more recent development?

Ja, Suid-Afrika is verskriklik mooi en 'n baie unieke plek! 🙌 Ek mis beslis die mense.
4:46 They have financial targets to reach and will stop at nothing to attain them. And then there’s taxi wars, competition for passengers etc. 😅

Parts of those issues are parts of your parents actions. Not sure if you have heard of a system called apartheid.
Never seen a white person in a taxi
