On November 19th, 2023 First Lady Rosalynn Carter died at the age of 96. She went from poor southern seamstress who couldn’t afford to go to college, to one of the most politically active first ladies in US history. She was an outspoken advocate for womens’ rights and mental health. After the white house, she and Jimmy helped to forge what sadly turned out to be a temporary peace between Israel and Palestine. They spent their golden years helping others through their foundation and habitat for humanity. Let’s meet Rosalynn Carter.

For almost my entire life, the Carters have been a former President and First Lady who were out there negotiating peace deals, doing humanitarian work, and overall being wonderful people. Losing Rosalynn feels like losing a part of my own history. Rest in peace, Mrs. Carter - you have earned it.
What a joke
Rest in piss
Humaneterian? 😅😅
What Carter done to Iran is unforgivable
@@simaj9452pray do tell
You seem adamant to be trolling everyone's comments and from a non-American's perspective who's pretty anti-American ideologically - he seems the most benevolent of a bad bunch.
Meanwhile she seems to be genuinely humanitarian and philanthropic...an old lady who died of a cruel, enduring disease.
So pray do tell or have some fucking respect
@simaj9452
Have you no sense of decency or moral comportment? A fine woman, admired by millions all over the world and who devoted her herself to making lives better for those less fortunate, has passed away. What do you hope to gain by making nasty comments about someone who made a positive impact on the Earth? If you think it makes you appear smart, witty or superior, you're sadly mistaken.
Please, regale us on what YOU have done with your life of equal or greater value.
What you are doing to the English language is unforgivable!@@simaj9452
Most remarkably, Rosalynn was delivered by Lilian Carter, Jimmy's mother, who was a nurse. Jimmy was a toddler brought to see the baby. They were neighbors who knew each other all their lives.
I believe one of Jimmy's sisters was her best friend.

RIP. She was a wonderful woman and first lady!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for doing this brief history of First Lady Rosalynn Carter. Her contributions to America and the World at large have sadly gone unrecognized in her lifetime. May her memory be a blessing to us all. May she RIP.
You should find out what Carter did on Iran millions of Iranians Cursing them
She was a woman of great faith who lived her life in being of service to others. Rest in Peace, Mrs Carter, your work is done
😂😂😂😂
I’m from Georgia and the Carters are such a fixture here. Rosalynn Carter will certainly be missed. What an extraordinary woman.
I grew up in Georgia and am a graduate of Emory University. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting both the President and Mrs Carter. She was a very smart and very kind lady.
In 2014, i had the honour to attend a lecture given by President Carter at Sciences Po Paris. I skipped even another class for it.
She was an extraordinary woman. She was wonderful. Thank you Lindsay for doing this video of our American Sweetheart.
It always amazes me that they were married for 77 years.
Thank you for creating this wonderful video. I was a kid when the Carters were in office...yet I still knew she was a classy, intelligent..."Steel Magnolia" of a woman who cared deeply about her family and those less fortunate. Rest in power Rosalynn Carter.
What an extraordinary life! Rest in Peace, Rosalynn Carter 💐 thank you for making these amazing videos
😂😂😂 Look at Carter and stuff did to Iran
Her and her husband were true humanitarians helping people throughout their lives. Rest in Peace.
She was such a kind soul, may she rest in peace.
I remember growing up hearing the good and bad of the Carter's and I just want to say that the legacy these two people have established for their humanitarian work will be remembered. Blessings to them and their memories.
Rosalynn first First Lady since Eleanor Roosevelt to testify before congress. I would argue that she turned the tide from First Lady as a debutante or fashion icon back to First Lady as an advocate for those who could not speak for themselves. Godspeed...
The Carters are the example of, true Americans! Thank you for this.
She makes me proud to be a Georgian ❤️
I was born during their Administration and I have admired the Carters since I was a child. Mrs. Carter truly was a great lady and humanitarian.
Thank you Rosalynn Carter for serving our country
Rest in peace ❤❤❤😢😢😢😭😭😭❤️🤍🇺🇸🇺🇸
What a lovely tribute, thank you Lindsay. May she rest in peace, 96 is quite some age.
Kindness and class are the first words I think of when I hear her name.
Truly a Class Act. Respect.
Honored to meet the Carters. Rosalyn was absolutely beautiful.
She was beauty, grace, courage and loyalty. She was compassion, honor and the most generous of souls. She was a great lady, a true national treasure. I waited on her and her husband on a few occasions and, even on those nights at the Carter Center where a meeting ran late and the waiters stood around an extra couple of hours, it was always, ALWAYS, a privilege.
God bless the Carter family AND may mrs Carter rest in
peace Amén.
I'm so heart broken that Rosalynn Carter is gone. I always admired and appreciated her so much for all her charity and diplomatic work. She was my favorite of the former First ladies for all the good she did in the world. I really hope she wasn't in pain when she passed, and I hope Jimmy Carter has family and friends to support him.
May she rest in peace

To one of the best first ladies ever, you will be missed, Mrs. Carter!
I’ve honestly never been a fan of the Carter’s politics, but they have been undeniably hard-working, salt of the earth humanitarians. They truly practiced what they preached and worked for the food of others.
That seems to be the consensus.
They weren't great politicians but absolutely wonderful humans.
A fine, gracious lady who was admired by all who knew her, irrespective of differing political ideology. She and Jimmy sincerely earned my deepest respect and admiration for their tireless devotion to improve the lives of others less fortunate. She will be sorely missed. ❤
Two months after hurricane Katrina in New Orleans this beautiful angel appeared with a hammer in her hand.
She was an Angel on Earth before she became an Angel in Heaven!
RIP Ms Carter
You be remembered 😢
I was 9 when he was elected. We saw the inauguration in class!
A nice vignette of the life of Rosalynn Carter. I briefly met Mrs. Carter when President Carter was visiting Kentucky while in office. She was a very gracious lady. But her name is pronounced "Rose-a-lynn".
Many years ago, Jimmy and Rosalyn were noted to be the best first couple in history. I can’t remember who said it, though. They said history would show this to be true.
Both of the Carters are/were National Treasures, President Carter as a senior statesman and Ms. Rosalyn as his partner. Her memory will be a blessing.
Let’s talk about angels that walk among humans. That was Mrs. Carter. Her humanitarian efforts will continue to serve as inspiration for generations to come.
God bless Rosalyn and Jimmy. RIP Rosalyn ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
People who did good, true work for others without having to blab about it to the media constantly. That is true humanitarism 🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
Such a great lady ... an inspiration to all
I can't believe she died yesterday! may she rest in peace.
They are such a kind a charming pair
I miss when we had decency and respect in politics instead of all the aggression there is today
God bless both of then. One of the best First Ladies and One of the best presidents.
Thank you for this a nice hommage about Mrs Carter as in Europe, I only saw few videos about Jackie Kennedy Onnassis and Eleanor Roosevelt. It was a great to discover her life and her work to make the world better . R.I.P Mrs Carter
They truly were the best ppl EVER to have lived in the White House.
Amazing video Lindsay! The care and respect you put into each of them is what makes you the best. May God bless you and mrs carter🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What an extraordinary life! ❤ I still can't believe that Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter has sadly left us. 😢 But she absolutely deserves to rest in peace after all she's done for America and the world at large. 💖 Thank you for sharing a brief history of Rosalynn Carter. Not only is her story very intriguing and inspiring but it was also important since she left such a positive impact on the world. 💖
Rest in Peace, Mrs Carter. And thank you for all you've done!
RIP Mrs. Carter. You will be missed
She was an amazing woman!
She was a wonderful woman and a great First Lady of the United States ❤ God Bless Her soul at eternity
RIP Mrs. Carter.
Thank you for this 😢 She was great.
One of my few regrets in life is that i wasn't old enough to vote for President Carter
I voted for him the first and second time he ran for office.
Thank you for this amazing video of an earth angel who got her wings and went back to heaven. ❤
What a remarkable lady ❤
May Eleanor Rosalynn Smith Carter R.I.P.. I offer my prayers and condolences to Jimmy, her four children, other
extended family members and close friends. Rosalynn Carter was an inspiration to women everywhere.
We all remember her daughter, Amy, going to school in Washington, D.C. at a public (i.e. a taxpayer-supported
institution open for all) school. Rosalyn and/or Jimmy walked her back and forth to school frequently. (That is
how safe Washington DC was in the 1970's!) I liked the Carters; although I disagreed with some of their policies.
Thank you Lindsay. This is a very nice tribute-biography of Rosalyn.
I have always so loved & admired President Jimmy Carter and his beautiful First Lady Rosalyn Carter.❤️
The both have always been the quintessential picture of loyalty, devotion, and grace to not only God, their country, and the world, but to each other and their family. Your beautiful and loving heart will be greatly missed.❤️😢
R.I.P. Rosalyn Carter Our First Lady
May you now know true comfort and peace in the arms of our dear Lord Jesus Christ.🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
I don't remember much about the Carter administration because I was a small child at the time. But from what I've seen him and his wife did much more when they wasn't in the Oval Office.
Beautiful tribute. I would have watched double or triple the length about the long, and well lived, life of this gracious woman. A true 'Steel Magnolia'.🌸
Im probably gonna get alot of negative comments for this but when I saw rosalyn carter died, my first thought was we'll be losing our former president sooner rather than later. The only thing that brings me comfort is that they will be together again soon!
May she rest in peace.
Rest In Peace.
RIP Rosalyn Carter wife of Jimmy for 77 years and 4 months
And his only love!
Rosalynn was a friend of Jimmy's younger sister. When he came home from the Naval Academy, in his dress whites, Rosalynn was instantly smitten. Jimmy, on his part, thought she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen
@@user-hx6ye4jq1n Young Love that went the distance. Through many great times, and times of travail.
Thank you!
Thank you! I enjoyed learning about Mrs. Carter.
Wonderful woman that used her power to help others, the way it should be. I wont say may she rest in peace. I know she must be at peace after the wonderful life she had. ❤
BRAVO, BRAVO❤❤❤ THANK-YOU!!
Rest in Peace!!
She’s a remarkable woman. She lived her life well and meaningful. Thank you for everything First Lady Rosalyn Carter. 😢
A life well lived.
Thank you Lindsay, this was very sweet enjoyed it. 😊💖
Thank you so very much for this wonderful story about an amazing and inspiring woman. Blessings to her family 🙏❤️🌏
You were quick with this one, do you make these ahead of time incase someone passes lmao
WHAT?! bro I had no idea this came out of nowhere, I saw your video release "Rosalynn Carter" and thought "wait, don't Lindsay's videos come out at 5 pm (where I leave it's 5 pm when they release)" then remembered it isn't even Tuesday, then saw the birth and death dates and that threw me out💀 well, Rest In Peace, Rosalynn! And thank you, Lindsay, for putting the videos out with such haste and care. I do fear Jimmy will die soon though, usually when bothare elderly and one dies, tho other soon follows... Let's hope not.
Without the love of his life Jimmy is like a flower without water...
I don't have a TV or a radio I didn't know she died until I saw this. Thanks for a great video. And she was talking about Mental Health in the 70's. I don't think unfortunately that Jimmy will live to be 100 without her.
They have always been a beautiful couple. True Georgia royalty. RIP Mrs. Carter, and condolences to the family.

RIP angel
Great video!
I met the Carters while they were in th Governor's mansion in Atlanta!
Jimmy won't be far behind. I have a feeling they'll be together again in time for Christmas.
When two people are together for that long and are that in love, one doesn't seem to last much longer on this earth after the other goes home to heaven.
She was so pretty!!! ❣
Rest in peace
The Carters will be remembered as a wonderful couple and great leaders the US has produced, and Rosalynn had a lot of charm and beauty. RIP
I’m so surprised they were all getting ready to say goodbye to Jimmy but she went first
Meanwhile Kissinger is gonna outlast everyone.
@@Nikolaj11 maybe or he’s gonna soon that’s what couples do it’s so cute
@@tashacooper1753 especially couples who were so deeply in love with each other as they.
@@Magdalenkaization yeah
I imagine that its almost a blessing that she went first. If Jimmy had gone first, Rosalynn , with her dementia diagnosis, probably would've been lost without him. My father passed away long before my mom developed dementia, as it got worse, mom kept looking for dad, wondering when dad was coming home
Enjoyed this, I just wish I get notifications. instead of stumbling upon you.

Rest for her soul!🙏
Wonderful lady…wonderful couple!
The world has lost a jewel.may you rest in peace majesty Rosalynn Carter for your work here on earth is done. Fly high now and continue to watch over until we meet on that beautiful shore.😔💔🕊️
love your videos, including this lovely tribute to an amazing first lady, but you misstate the participants -- and success -- of the Camp David Accords which were signed by Israel and Egypt. The peace treaty which resulted is not only still in place but completely changed the trajectory of the entire Middle East.
@lakesq2056 I've watched this tribute just once. My interpretation was that the Carter's mission, to bring key Middle Eastern leaders together to negotiate, occurred AFTER he lost the Presidency. At 3:11 mins, the narration says "In 1983 the couple travelled to the Middle East .....".
@@comealongcomealong4480, appreciate your perspective. I totally agree that the Carters' trip to the middle east was important but feel that it continued the work begun at Camp David. Either way, we both have another reason to thank Lindsay for this tribute to Rosalyn.
😭...

She is Jacky Kennedy.
He may not have been a good president, but he is a wonderful human being. And so was Rosalynn! RIP dear lady
RIP Mrs. Carter

I was so surprised she died before him. He’s been in hospice for like a year now
