    Thanks for the guide 👍
    Might come in handy if I ever find the buttons obnoxious whenever I receive mine

    Thank you so much for this video, I couldn't play for very long before my left thumb started hurting and this made a huge difference! I was quite nervouse because I have very shaky hands so if I can do it anyone can. For anyone else trying this with a transparent model don't forget to remove any lint from the shell before reassembling lol, I had to go back in to remove fluff.

      same!! i loved it in every single way and was able to look past the loud clicks, but having my thumb hurt after half an hour of pokemon was so lame. im so so so glad that it worked out for you!!

      How many layers did you use on the dpad? I tried 2 and then 3 but it was still too stiff.

    • @jyeblu
      @jyeblu 2 месяца назад +1

      @@crazedsloth I used 3 layers of electrical tape although I don't think electrical tape is recommended as eventually it breaks up and becomes sticky, which I've slowly started to notice. According to some people it may not actually decrease the pressure required to push the buttons and it may just be a placebo. Perhaps my thumbs have just gotten stronger over time lol cause I have no fatigue at all anymore.

      @@crazedsloth are you using electrical tape? you can keep adding it until you get the feel you like or until bad inputs

    That was great, thanks. Wish there was a good way to silence the other buttons as well as the triggers, haven't found a perfect solution yet. But this fixed like most of the issue anyway since you use these buttons a lot. Personally did two layers of electrical tape.

    Thank you very much for this tutorial. Will definitely try this with kapton tape on my SP soon :) Don't know why you chose to put Dire Dire Docks over the test sound part of the video though :O Couldn't hear a single button press

    Is the only reason to do this to dampen the sound of the tac switches? My SP just arrived, and I am potentially interested to do this, but I'm mainly interested to improve the _feel_ of the dpad and buttons - any sound dampening is just a benefitical side effect. Will this do anything to improve the feel? I especially am after a softer dpad.

      There is less pressure required to push. Had a difficult time hitting the diagonal on sf3 but with this mod it’s a lot easier. I used kapton tape instead of electrical and used 3 layers on dpad and buttons. I find that kapton tape is thinner than electrical and less residue overtime.

    I saw this in the discord. Is it possible with the rattleing R1 L1 R2 L2 to put rolled up or stacked up but small electircal tape just enough to match the thickness of the stryrofoam you put in if we dont stryrofoam?

    Anyone tried this with one of the clear models yet? I saw someone comment on reddit they think it will look bad since you will see the tape through the shell

      I just did, I didn't make the cuts too large but the rubber pad between the buttons and the tac switches should cover the tape unless you go ridiculously large with your cuts.

      It is really clicky. Some people are bothered by the noise. I don't know. I'm wating for mine and will judge if it bothers me enough to mod.

    • @bellisperennissturdivant

      very intense click noise which doesn't bother me too much, personally I found the dpad very straining on my thumb and this significantly reduced the actuation force.

    • @stuckinnostalgia4356
      @stuckinnostalgia4356 2 месяца назад

      Because autism. The buttons arent nearly as click as people have been saying.

      @@stuckinnostalgia4356 it's just literally not true. I compared the stock buttons to over 15 handhelds and controllers it was the loudest by FAR. I will be doing a video comparing the decibel rating to other buttons in a few days to prove this point

      @@stuckinnostalgia4356 and retro game corp has already showed that the actuation force is 170-190 grams, 2-3x more force than the average of any other device
