Can you share your best rig for catching these monsters? Hook one the other day. Definitely the biggest fish I've hooked.. Got it to the edge and it went under the bank and straightened my hook.
Not all. We release any we are able to. That day we each caught one that had to be kept so that’s our legal limit and stopped fishing for them after that

I don’t think these guys are we’ll educated, because they say ‘groper’ also. It’s not an Aussie thing, as I’ve lived here in surfers paradise since I was in my 20’s over 30 years. Long enough that I’ve got the idiot accent, although my native NZ accent isn’t much better lol
