I'm seriously addicted to watching you two, like watching ER or The Big Bang etc.....Keep them coming , keep your smiles on and Way to go for Awesome Ontarios Adventures !
I like the turtle tent, just needed the hands out the window. Been a fan of Chris' Cafe time for, oh it goes way back, til 3 minutes ago. Julia does a great job on the camera, her sence of humour has me smiling the whole time, thanks again for posting.
I have to say...when I first stumbled onto to this site....I was not sure what to expect. Now I know why. This is one of the most put together and most enjoyable videos to watch. This is perfection personified...your love of capturing the moments and the scenery...wow...Bravo!
I've only been on McIntosh Lake once, camped overnight. Was sitting in camp after supper and enjoying the evening when a Beaver Plane landed on the lake. They scooped up some water, looked like they were running some tests and then took off and left. Your trips are so layed back and happy! Thank you for sharing.
Both looking forward to and dreading the last video, as it will be the last of the trip! My boyfriend and I are living vicariously through these videos while it rains/snows in NY! You are amazing and inspirational as a couple and as adventurers!
Thanks so much Amy (and partner) for watching! Glad to hear - we've got one more video from this series coming up, and we're already starting to plan our next trip in May :)
You see! This is what I love about you two. Despite the shitty weather, you always have smiles on your faces, and such positive attitudes! It's just so refreshing to watch! So this week's question is...is it always like this, or have there ever been any times when you've just completely lost it on each other in the Algonquin outback......My guess is not in a million years, but I thought I'd ask the question :) Thanks for another awesome video Chris!!
Aww! Thanks Andrew! Haha, there's been a few occasions around how long we film, though we're quick to forgive and appreciate each other's point of view :)
Always so cheerful! Have to admit on mornings like this its a serious effort of will power to crawl out of the tent and get started. I usually make my coffee 'cowboy style' ie without filter and just adding a shot of cold water to sink the grounds. Like your work, cheers, T
Thanks Larry! Gotta say, I'm continuously amazed at how great the coffee tastes coming out of the Aeropress - it's much better than our little Black & Decker coffee maker at home :)
Another great one. So much fun. And to find weights! That's crazy. Obviously the person who brought the weights didn't do enough portaging or wood gathering! LOL. Cheers!
When we were on Mcintosh there was a group of 10 kids and 2 adults staying on the same site you guys were on. We were on the island to the right looking out the peninsula. That night at dusk when the lake was white capping we saw two canoes, one upside down with screaming at the top of their lungs "I'm drowning!". Four of our guys blasted to the middle of the lake in two canoes like David Hasselhoff, rooster tails four feet high off the backs.... To the greeting of "It's OK, we're just practicing capsizing!" There were stern words about when, where and how to practice capsizing a canoe.
Where to start... I’ll start at the giggles. I adore them, you two are adorable and seem to be very happy. I love it. The editing is perfect, the videography is amazing and I love everything about it. Although it’s obvious neither of you need a boy around as your are both very capable. Just say they word and I’ll be there to cut wood or haul a canoe or simply I’ll be there to see what that kind of love looks like up close. Congrats and I love the videos ☺️.
Between the raindrops, the flickering fire, and awesome choice of music, I just took a nice little power nap. LMAO Thanks! HAHA Good work on this series.
Was looking for some new food ideas for my family of 3 for next year's 10 day. A lot of our meals are similar but thanks for the ideas of clarified butter and popcorn, we'll have to try these ideas. Thanks for a great video, Subscribed!
Thanks for showing us your Aeropress had see it in other videos and never knew stuff like this existed . Maybe it's because I'm not a coffee drinker . Love your cooking segments 🍜☕️🍽 . ATB Ken .
Finally got a chance to catch up on my vids. You keep shooting that 4k, I have been watching on my TV lately and your stuff is B E A Utiful!! I may hit you up with some questions. Going to start planning a trip soon!!
Thanks Brian! The opening shots in the tent were filmed with the GX85, though the rainy paddling / portage montage was filmed with a GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition. Once we made it to McIntosh Lake, I started using the GX85 again, but had to jump back to the GoPro as we were pulling into the campsite. The 12-60mm lens is weather-sealed - I wish the GX85 was... the new G85 has some weather-sealing though :)
aww Chris amazing as always! But please don't post this in the middle of winter..makes me wanna go camping so bad now! ;-) I'm kidding, I always enjoy watching your videos
Great vid and nice view!it's funny, beautiful and perfect with the music!you and julia are very sweet together and i like that you both always have a smile on you face!
Thanks Mike! We haven't actually, though we hear there's some fantastic fishing in the park - we were headed up a narrow stream just North of Welcome Lake once, and we were herding what looked like 50 fish underneath the canoe just in front of us... was an incredible sight to be seen! :)
Hey girls- What brand is that coffee press you're using? Seems like the perfect size for travelling. I currently use a coffee press, but it seems bulkier. Thanks!
What does your canoe Weigh? 26 lbs? And your blue tub?.......and your individual back packs? Wow...you both are amazing at how you both pull your own weight. I love this. Just Saying. Greetings from Fort McMurray, Alberta.!
Thanks Norm! I believe Swift Canoe's kevlar ultralight is around 43 lbs, and depending on what point we're at in the trip (and how much food we've eaten), the barrel can range anywhere from 40-55 lbs. The other pack is probably closer to around 55-60 lbs, and then the paddles, plus a dry bag for camera gear adds about another 20 lbs. Definitely helps build character :)
I think Julia picked ours up from a specialty coffee shop somewhere here in town, but you can buy them directly from AeroPress' Canadian website for about $40 :)
You should try canoe camping on your next vacation - it’s pretty affordable compared to most vacations, and you can rent just about everything from Algonquin Outfitters :)
You need to learn to fish.....you are passing through some excellent trout lakes.....less food in your food barrel! Freshly caught trout cooked on an open campfire....hmmmm.....good! High in protein as well.
Okay... I've been bingeing on your videos since I discovered your youtube channel on the weekend and I keep seeing your coffee press and I'd love to know what it is. I simply take Starbucks Via when I head out camping, and it's good, but not great. And I agree with what someone else stated earlier, your videos, editing, everything, makes it easy to like a video as soon as it starts. Love it. And your channel is perfect to chill with as I'm holding my -2- month old while it's my turn to feed her and give the wife a rest. It's great.
Aww! Thanks Chet! It's an AeroPress coffee maker, which is about $40 online, but well worth the money! Congrats on the recent addition to your family, and hope all's well :)
Awesome thank you! Ordered mine and already received it. Talk about and easy cup of coffee to make. Looking forward to taking this out on trips. Can't wait to see the next adventures of Chris & Julia.
That map intro was everything!! Especially with headphones on! I'm so impressed by it 😄
Thanks Iris! Glad to hear! ( pun intended :)
I agree...very professional. The whole weekend was captured in a National Geographic Style adventure.
Watching your rainy adventures makes me happy!
The gx85 is doing magic I can see...
Lovely imagery and nature bonding
+Kaysha Thanks Kaysha! There's a new video from the trip uploading now, which used more of the gimbal - should be online in an hour or two :)
Chris Prouse great
Finally up... lol, long story short, Safari doesn't show 4K as an available viewing option on recent uploads, but Chrome does :)
Chris Prouse yeah? I use chrome anyway
I'm seriously addicted to watching you two, like watching ER or The Big Bang etc.....Keep them coming , keep your smiles on and Way to go for Awesome Ontarios Adventures !
Dont you love how it rains on the last day of a camping trip?
Gorgeous trip... beautifully shot by the two of you!
Thank you! :)
Hard to not get a smile on your face with such amazing peaceful footage in nature :) great vlog Chris!
and nothing better than a little campfire haha (+smores) :)
Thanks Sven! :)
I love that you camp in any weather and remain happy!
Thanks! It's certainly character building :)
I like the turtle tent, just needed the hands out the window. Been a fan of Chris' Cafe time for, oh it goes way back, til 3 minutes ago. Julia does a great job on the camera, her sence of humour has me smiling the whole time, thanks again for posting.
Haha, I love Julia's sense of humour too - makes all the difference on a cold and rainy day :)
I have to say...when I first stumbled onto to this site....I was not sure what to expect. Now I know why. This is one of the most put together and most enjoyable videos to watch. This is perfection personified...your love of capturing the moments and the scenery...wow...Bravo!
Thanks so much Norm! Glad to hear you're enjoying them! :)
Bringing me back on trips I went on YEARS AGO!! Thank you!
The rain was awesome... Very nice as always.
Thanks Jim! :)
Never get tired of watching these 2 really cool campers, thank you and please continue the excellent videos, again Thank you
Both looking forward to and dreading the last video, as it will be the last of the trip!
Another winner!! I love MacIntosh Lake; haven't been up that way since before you two were born! Beautiful imagery, as always. Thank you!
Thanks Ed! One of my favourite lakes too - lots of great memories :)

LOOKS LIKE SOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN ! BE SAFE ! GOD BLESS YOU BOTH ALWAYS ! ENJOYED !
Loving this series. Very talented film making.
Nice eye on the detail at 1:20, editing the continuous paddle motion through the cuts! (I've done that once before!)
Thanks! Always fun to play with the music :)
Always so cheerful! Have to admit on mornings like this its a serious effort of will power to crawl out of the tent and get started.
I usually make my coffee 'cowboy style' ie without filter and just adding a shot of cold water to sink the grounds.
Like your work, cheers, T
Thanks Tom! Curious to try that method (I'm relatively new to coffee), and will give it a try sometime :)
I love my Aeropress too. For the price, it is hard to make a better cup of coffee. Great video as usual!
Thanks Larry! Gotta say, I'm continuously amazed at how great the coffee tastes coming out of the Aeropress - it's much better than our little Black & Decker coffee maker at home :)
I'm debating whether its the content or the quality of the video I like more... I've decided its both. Thanks so much Chris & Julia! Rob
Aww! Thanks so much Rob! That means a lot to us :)
Loving the music selections.
thank you so much for this video. you and Julia are amazing
Thanks Alex! :)
I second that! Love how you're always smiling and having fun :)
Awesome as always, cheers!
Thanks Aaronime! :)
Another great one. So much fun. And to find weights! That's crazy. Obviously the person who brought the weights didn't do enough portaging or wood gathering! LOL. Cheers!
Thanks Mike! Haha, so true! :)
Maybe there might be another one that would be awesome I can't wait if there is thank you Chris & Julia.
Yep! There's one more on the way! Thanks for watching :)

So GLAD I found your channel!!
Great episode, nice work!
Between the raindrops, the flickering fire, and awesome choice of music, I just took a nice little power nap. LMAO Thanks! HAHA Good work on this series.
Nice, haha! Thanks Jared! :)
You are welcome!
Your music selections here are stunning! Randy
Awesome! Just like last year I did that loop a couple of weeks before you did. Beaver dams, beaver dams, beaver dams... and... more beaver dams.
Cool! Haha, so many beaver dams in Grassy Bay :)
I think I've said it before but I'll say it again here. Your videos are FUN!

Wouldn't be a canoe trip without a bit of rain, at least it stopped before campfire time!
So true :)
Was looking for some new food ideas for my family of 3 for next year's 10 day. A lot of our meals are similar but thanks for the ideas of clarified butter and popcorn, we'll have to try these ideas. Thanks for a great video, Subscribed!

Sean Jolly was that a Jim Carey reference from some movie that I don't quite remember?

Haha, it's character building for sure - you should go for it! :)
love the vid 😃
Thank you! :)
Nice video! Is this with the GX85? Are you using anything to protect the camera in the rain?
Thanks Brian! The opening shots in the tent were filmed with the GX85, though the rainy paddling / portage montage was filmed with a GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition. Once we made it to McIntosh Lake, I started using the GX85 again, but had to jump back to the GoPro as we were pulling into the campsite. The 12-60mm lens is weather-sealed - I wish the GX85 was... the new G85 has some weather-sealing though :)
Chris this is great!!!!! If only you put the gear in the description ;)

Chris, Love your videos. Do you and Julia ever get to fish while canoeing?
Thanks Mike! We haven't actually, though we hear there's some fantastic fishing in the park - we were headed up a narrow stream just North of Welcome Lake once, and we were herding what looked like 50 fish underneath the canoe just in front of us... was an incredible sight to be seen! :)

Hey girls- What brand is that coffee press you're using? Seems like the perfect size for travelling. I currently use a coffee press, but it seems bulkier. Thanks!
It's an AeroPress - I actually prefer the taste of the coffee out of the AeroPress over our coffee maker at home :)
I like the way your tent sets up. What is the name of it???
Hey have either of you tried out the Biolite ? If not its a must try I bring mine everywhere :)
Yeah, would love to have one! Would be awesome to be able to charge batteries on cloudy days :)
when did you go on this trip?
This trip was near the end of September I believe :)
chris do u like canoe lake
I love Canoe Lake! It's a fantastic spot :)
Sorry about the rain, but loved the video anyway.
Thanks! :)
It's been almost a year come home already Chris! There's no way you guys still have toilet paper😨. Oh yeah, you have amazing camera & editing skills!
Haha, thanks Mac8! One more video from the series on the way! :)
+Chris Prouse Okay I can't wait! ...😒 don't forget to wash under your finger nails.
where in Canada is this lake place?
Hey Monique, if you search for "Big Trout Lake, Algonquin Park" in google maps, that's where this video started :)
What does your canoe Weigh? 26 lbs? And your blue tub?.......and your individual back packs? Wow...you both are amazing at how you both pull your own weight. I love this. Just Saying. Greetings from Fort McMurray, Alberta.!

Thanks Brian! :)
Big portage next day from Ink to Tom Thomson.

I adore my Gore Tex jackets! :)
It looked like a cold and rainy day :-(
We had a great time though! :)
You're truly not outdoorsy until you've worn a garbage bag :)
Haha, so true! :)
i hope I can have enough money and live a life like this.
You should try canoe camping on your next vacation - it’s pretty affordable compared to most vacations, and you can rent just about everything from Algonquin Outfitters :)
Smell my wood 😂
