this list is proof that it isn't nostalgia that makes these old games good , its the fact that more games have become creatively bankrupt nowadays resulting to more people just going back to playing the best ones of yester years
Mostly agree, but nostalgia is a factor that cannot be denied when it comes to rating a game. AAA games are just exploiting their major IP (lastly seen in DA Veilguard). However, critically acclaimed game such as Bioshock, Dishonored, Doom are only relevant in their perspective year of release. It's simply not worth playing if you don't have any childhood memory or any unique moment on it. That is why indie and older game with arcade approach is strangely stay in our mind longer than our most beloved AAA.
Because everything’s corporate now and that goes for every entertainment industry nowadays, they’re more focused on pleasing investors than making something special
Gonna add tomb raider(2013) here as well. I just went back to it yesterday and man! It's still almost as amazing as I remember it. I can say that about only a few other games.
Half life 2 (even tho being 20yrs old) still holds up to this day Also dishonored would be a great addition to this list Also the Arkham games And so many others
It is mind-blowing to understand that some of these games are more than 10 years old. Arkham Knight, and Far Cry 4 are the perfect example since the company that made those games are not glorious as they were
Good list. Slightly surprised and disappointed to not see "Spec-Ops: The Line" on this list. Sometimes I feel like the whole world slept on that masterpiece.
Mirrors edge? Had such a cool art style and the parkour movement I think started a whole renaissance in fps movement like dying light, Titanfall, brink, and even ghostrunner
I always wished that the Arkham games from the start were more stylized to look like a comic book. As they've aged, I wish that even more. Imagine the gameplay and combat but with comic-style visuals as authentic to that genre as Ni No Kuni was to Studio Ghibli.
The standalone Festival of Blood expansion was a great spooky addition to the series. Maybe someday all the great exclusives will be freed from their PS3 prison.
I honestly find myself playing only older 2010-2020 games. They're just fun and still look great graphically without needing the newest & latest expensive high end GPU to run them. New games just do not have the staying power and feels like cash grab for corporate higher ups.
Great video filled with certified bangers, and it's even better when you realise many of them sit untouched in your Steam library just waiting to be (re)discovered! Thanks for the recommendations, and I hope there will be a part two in the future.
Part of the reason I got into PC gaming this year was so I can play my favorite older titles with Modern visuals & frame rates and I’ve been loving it 🥴🫡
AC series, Far Cry 3 and 4 and LOTR games still mesmerize me Sleeping dogs aged so well and deserved a sequel Gears of War was insane Watchdogs deserved better treatment and it should have merged with the AC stories to rake in both fans of AC and Watchdogs together
games like FLATOUT 2 and FALTOUT ULTIMATE CARNAGE despite being decades old games, still looks and feel fresh. recently i played GRAVEL on pc, good lord the game, while not as good as recent games, i has some breathtaking, almost ray traced moments in it.
Still got quite a few of these games and just recently picked up Remember Me, but there's a glaring omission from this list... Okami Even though there's an HD version, the PS2 original still looks great to this day. The Japanese oil painting graphics means that it'll never age, just like the cel-shaded Borderlands games.
I played Ryse Son of Rome at a popup event for the Xbox one before it released, they gave you a chance to play it. It seemed honestly incredible the way it looked and done so well
good list. I went back to Far Cry 3 and 4 earlier this year. I am not a huge FC guy, but really had a blast with both of these games (again). Was surprised how much I replayed them....
In my opinion the following games are also deserve to be mentioned here. Mirror's Edge:(2008) It still looks visually great even today. Still looks quiet decent. Medal of Honor Airbourne.(2007) Many aspects of the game still holds up quiet well, ragdolls, weapon ugrades, free level entry point, Beyond two souls, (2013) Still looks like a decent game. Assassin's creed Unity: (2014) Still the most detailed AC game and open world environment. Watch Dogs: (2013) Regardless of the issues at release this game overall aged very well. Homefront the revolution: I do think that many gameplay features are holding up to this day. Burnout Paradise: Still has the best car wrecking animations and an unique gameplay.
Oh man, you should definitely add Binary Domain!!! That game is so sick and was way way ahead of its time for 2012. Also Psi-Com The Mindgate Conspiracy is still super fun. And Red Faction: Guerilla!
YES, not nearly enough people talk about Psi-Ops The Mindgate Conspiracy! It had gravity gun-like powers before Half-Life 2! Btw, HL2 should be on this list, too :)
Styx is awesomeeeeee!!! More people should give it a try, it's a true gem of a game :) Btw original Dead Space still looks fresh AF, should've include that as well :P
More good games that aged well: Half-Life 2 Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Silent Hill 3 Burnout 3 GTA IV old Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games F.E.A.R. Need For Speed Underground 2 Colin McRae Rally 2005 Fable
dont know man most of these show their age you could have put uncharted 4 there it released 8 years ago and still looks amazing. also dishonored 2 is a fantastic looking game and the level design is awesome
Hell yeah, I got to test the first game at Eidos. But 2 is my fave. That series was great till they hit 3, then they kind of just recycled the same ideas.

@@nickochioneantony9288 my favourite game is farcry 3 an i am 15 what are you saying
I’m currently playing Metal Gear Rising Revengeance for the first time and it’s incredible.
@londonisforeverblue1022 Devs are also playing it safe. Not everything needs or can be family friendly.
Because everything’s corporate now and that goes for every entertainment industry nowadays, they’re more focused on pleasing investors than making something special

Dead Space games are amazing. Recently finished DS2 and yeah, just great!
It is mind-blowing to understand that some of these games are more than 10 years old. Arkham Knight, and Far Cry 4 are the perfect example since the company that made those games are not glorious as they were
Days Gone. The tension on the harder difficulties is palpable. Game was done so dirty. That was the start of what we are in right now. Nonsense
I totally agree
It’s a shame Mad Max isn’t on this list, it’s very underrated
Mad Max never gets the love it deserves. It's one of my all-time favourites!!
You so right I love Played it
Incredibly based
I'd add Dishonored to this list too
As someone with a mark of the outsider tattoo, I agree
@@namlana9684that’s so sick
He'll yes
@@johnboy4955 Thanks bro🙃
The way he pronounced infamous reminded me of the three amigos lol
In-famous is when you're MORE than famous.
LOL- I was thinking the same thing.
Ryse Son of Rome is great, super underrated!
Great list. I've heard of some of these games, but I didn't think much of them until now. Definitely worth a playthrough.
Three things that make older games "look" that good even today:
- Great Art Style
- Awesome Animations / Physics
- Attention to Detail
Good list. Slightly surprised and disappointed to not see "Spec-Ops: The Line" on this list. Sometimes I feel like the whole world slept on that masterpiece.
I've already featured that game in my previous videos. And yes, I also think that game aged well especially when we talk about its story and world.
Great selection. Another game that feels timeless is Mirror's Edge. Cheers! //Rick
i've tried the original and feels a bit outdated. maybe catalyst ?
Wolfenstein the new order and Wolfenstein II are also still great.
Love me some In-Famous . Great series. Bleep Blorp
Jet Set Radio is a Dreamcast classic! Also, Mirror's Edge is an ageless title
Mirrors edge? Had such a cool art style and the parkour movement I think started a whole renaissance in fps movement like dying light, Titanfall, brink, and even ghostrunner
Sunset Overdrive. I’ve beaten it three times now and adore it more every run.
I always wished that the Arkham games from the start were more stylized to look like a comic book. As they've aged, I wish that even more. Imagine the gameplay and combat but with comic-style visuals as authentic to that genre as Ni No Kuni was to Studio Ghibli.
How is Skyrim not here? Its the GOAT.
The one series I wish Playstation would give us on PC is the Infamous games. They are so much fun
I totaly agree with you
@@abdaimegaming2679 They need to remaster 1 and 2. I miss playing as Cole Mcgrath
The standalone Festival of Blood expansion was a great spooky addition to the series. Maybe someday all the great exclusives will be freed from their PS3 prison.
I love that you mentioned Prince of Persia here. Loved everything about that game. Shame I have no way of playing it today.
Honorable mention to Sonic Unleashed and the Mass Effect trilogy.
max payne 3 and splinter cell: blacklist should've made the list too
Man, I love RE1 remake. I love the tank controls. That game is absolutely perfect.
I honestly find myself playing only older 2010-2020 games. They're just fun and still look great graphically without needing the newest & latest expensive high end GPU to run them. New games just do not have the staying power and feels like cash grab for corporate higher ups.
Such a cool list man, cheers!
Lmao every person who played Serious Sam 3 knows that it shouldnt be on this list AT ALL
I really like the atmosphere of Doom 3. It was the first time I played a Doom game back in the day and I loved it.
Good picks. Another good video. 🎉
It's criminal how sunset overdrive isn't mentioned here
THe dialog in that game is so so so bad, it makes it really hard to enjoy. lol
maybe it goes without saying but Gta V being 11 years old is pretty crazy
Skyrim and bioshock infinite are also noteworthy 😊
Great video filled with certified bangers, and it's even better when you realise many of them sit untouched in your Steam library just waiting to be (re)discovered! Thanks for the recommendations, and I hope there will be a part two in the future.
Part of the reason I got into PC gaming this year was so I can play my favorite older titles with Modern visuals & frame rates and I’ve been loving it 🥴🫡
Talion is an excellent character Shadow of Mordor is fantastic
I feel Bioshock should be in here no?
AC series, Far Cry 3 and 4 and LOTR games still mesmerize me
Sleeping dogs aged so well and deserved a sequel
Gears of War was insane
Watchdogs deserved better treatment and it should have merged with the AC stories to rake in both fans of AC and Watchdogs together

Same here. 4 with no HUD is actually really awesome. Especially in 60fps
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
You forgot crysis series especially crysis 3.
Great video
For Meta Quest owners, the Team Beef VR mod for Doom 3 is freaking awesome
Splinter Cell Blacklist still looks amazing.
In my opinion the following games are also deserve to be mentioned here.
Mirror's Edge:(2008) It still looks visually great even today. Still looks quiet decent.

Styx is awesomeeeeee!!! More people should give it a try, it's a true gem of a game :)

Both Styx games were sick! I need to go back and replay them actually.
@@thebarbaryghostsf ditto!
I honestly could never get into borderlands idk why - I’m going to give it another shot
just finished RE remake, my second RE ever. was fun!
Resident evil 1 is still so good. I beat it again this October
What platform is RE remake even on? Literally never played it but want to
Remember me mentioned 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Still got one of the best osts I've ever heard.
For me Serious Sam 3 is a very bad episode from this saga and not even a good FPS, it falls flat
Nice list man! new sub here!
Split second needs to be here.
Man your video script and commentary is so damn cool, i wonder how much time you're taking to write them ❤
From a time when games were just pure fun!!
Crazy nobody has managed to make a better pirate game than black flag yet even though they definitely tried many times
Ye DOOM3 one of my fav Games and PAINKILLER is one of best shooters for me still today.
I was waiting for the Metal Gear series..probably one of the games that didn't aged as well 🦾💯
i need sleeping dogs 2
The watch dogs 1 and 2 should be here they still look amazing
One game missing from the list is Half-Life. Well, it hasn’t aged though, it’s not even finished, but still❤
Great list
I was just playing farcry 4 on my ps5 and it looked terrible. Farcry 5 still looks great
perfect games for steam deck
They need to bring Jet Set Radio sequel to PC... Let's go ppl it's been too long.
World of Warcraft, the original is still one of the best games ever made.
Rise Son of Rome needs a sequel
More good games that aged well:
Half-Life 2
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
Silent Hill 3
Burnout 3
GTA IV
old Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games
F.E.A.R.
Need For Speed Underground 2
Colin McRae Rally 2005
Fable
dont know man most of these show their age you could have put uncharted 4 there it released 8 years ago and still looks amazing. also dishonored 2 is a fantastic looking game and the level design is awesome
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier as well
Republic Commando, sux, its too old, too long and boring.
I think those games aged well because their sequel or predecessor doesn't live up to expectation
Remember Me had one of the worst in game cameras ever, it was the most dangerous enemy in the game.
Dude seriously said in famous…. Instead of infamous
Also the remember me developer is just “Don’t Nod” not “daught nod”
Uncharted 4 ❤️
metroid prime belongs on this list…
also i can enjoy playing half life 1 and 2 but nowadays cant enjoy far cry 3
Any Metal Gear game should be on the list.
you can revisit mad max and alien isolation after you watch furiosa and alien romulus
Heard about Timestamp ?
It's in the description
Watchtime kam ho jaayegi bechaare ki, log sirf game ka naam dekhke chod denge video.
Heard about description...?
Heard about watching the video ?
No just cause 2?
Hell yeah, I got to test the first game at Eidos. But 2 is my fave. That series was great till they hit 3, then they kind of just recycled the same ideas.
The Witcher 3
In-famous, That sure is one way of saying it
Metal Gear Solid: V should be here
Infaymous lol
I feel old watching this…
I don’t remember Jet Set Radio being on PC or PlayStation…or was it?!
BF3 and 4 are still better than any Battlefield or COD game that have been released since then. Wish we could get a proper, back to roots Battlefield game rather than the disaster 2042 was.
Arkham triology and mass effect series
Man I hate the games that force cutscenes on me half the time and rather let the in game companion do half the work, basically you are forced to do what the game wants you to do. No Freedom. (Amm Amm Battlefield 4)
Ryse needs another game
For me this list just illustrates how low the bar has dropped overall. Other than RDR2, everything I play is at least 10 years old
ryse son of rome
god of war 3
battlefield 4
