FFXV is heartbreaking to me. I loved it for a good long while, until then it just kind of finished and I realised that I had absolutely no idea what the story was and nothing made any sense. It was such a beautiful world and the gameplay was pretty good mostly, but it just absolutely had no coherence and was a narrative disaster. I wish they would just tear it apart and remake it into what it should have been.

Rage 2 is at the top of my list for this. The gun play was some of the most fun I've ever had, but the world was just huge, empty, and boring. The convoys were maybe the only thing that justified the size. Also, you get the best vehicle at the very beginning, which makes finding other cars kinda meh.

Such a massive, MASSIVE departure from the Magnum Opus, Chaos Theory. I got an hour in, and never cared to finish. Revisited in 2018 with a Humble bundle that included the game. (Maybe Fanatic? Don't remember) Got 2 hours in, and never cared to finish.
What a rocky series. The first two games, although important to the genre, are difficult to go back to. 2007's "Chaos Theory" still plays like it was released a few years ago. The unprecedented amount of detail and AI improvements over the first two games were second to none. No game had a progressive "drying" system where you would dry off after swimming and leave smaller and smaller puddles of water behind you as you walked. Why didn't they fucking build off Chaos Theory, I will never, ever know.

Everything looked epic. The open landscapes with FF Monsters in them, and the original music video trailer.
But then it released and honestly looked like one of those badly designed MMOs.
Nothing felt epic about this game, and the story seemed nonsensical.
I could never get into it, and never bought it. I ended up waiting for 16 which was the right move, as 16 is a game I loved and completed 100%. I have full trust in CBU3 games now.

My biggest problem with it is that it only has 5 save slots, and if you're playing on the xbox one or series x, there's really no way to delete those files and start over. Which sucks, but there's nothing i can do about it.

It basically let you turn in the first missions reward until you had thousands of gold coins and max level right at the start. It was patched but you could go in on the ps3 and delete the patch and disconnect from the internet until you did this lol most memorable thing about the game honestly.

Yeah, Castlevania LoS2 had such potential especially following on from the first Castlevania. It think about it and it still bugs me to this day wishing LoS2 was made better. The boss fights were the only good thing about the game and you couldn't just pick those parts to play like you could in LoS1, you had to play through the whole game to play them again and it just didn't feel worth is which is a shame. Overall it was just a major let down.

FF15 felt like it was meant to have a second open world map. I think they realised they didn't have enough time, so they put the second act of the game on literal rails instead of giving you a whole new area to explore.
Data miners discovered that there actually was a big map for the second half, so it's probably true.

After Lucis & Accordo the whole game felt so rushed and like a completely different game. During the first half I kept expecting to explore the other continent.
I hope we get to see the finalised version of FF15 one day with a complete story, all the character arcs rounded out (especially Lunafreya's, Aranea's and Regis') as well as the Kingdom of Tenebrae & Empire of Niflheim being traversable.

Playstation All Stars: Speaking as an animator who worked on the game, believe me you are preaching to the choir. Everyone at Superbot also wanted all those characters. Wanting them badly and being able to get them were too different things since they were owned by other studios, who often had their own agendas ('oh we don't want our IP in that kind of game', 'you can use her but you can only use the model from the latest less popular game', 'Sure you can have him! for $5 mil', etc). Crash not being there was especially irritating for us and we kept hoping we'd be able to get him for a reasonable price in free DLC at least but they never could work out a deal. He and Spyro were owned by Activision at the time....so...now...Microsoft?!
Some of the design choices were made to differentiate the game from Smash Bros. We had hoped it'd sell well enough to iron out some of the flaws in a sequel...keep in mind it took Smash Bros awhile to get good. And anybody ever play Street Fight 1? Yeah right
