    That's one thing I like about my decks, I don't have to worry about a mirror match. Nobody loses like I do.

    Remember you can cycle lands for 1R with Soul, I think it came up once or twice. Great list, once it gets going it's almost impossible for opponents to withstand the avalanche of value (aka avaluenche 😂).

    not including any planeswalkers at all in an Atraxa deck is pretty wild

    • @LegenVD
      @LegenVD  Год назад +2

      Most Planeswalkers are not that great in the aggressive BO1 meta and it's not like Atraxa isn't still drawing a lot of cards.
      Eternal Wanderer was a consideration, but prefer Kami War at that point as it's even easier to cast.

    I put Herd migration in most of my 4-5 color decks, it fixes the mana early on and in the late game is a powerful finisher.

    • @Icameron259
      @Icameron259 Год назад

      Same. It's also a Sorcery that you are happy for Atraxa to find, and because the ability is instant-speed it gives you a proactive use for 2-cmc counterspell mana.

    "Opponent plays their own atraxa. Feels like we're behind now..." is exactly what I don't like about this format. It's like if Niv Mizzet Reborn required much less effort to build around and came with a "I have to remove this or I am dead" body.

  • @brucegi

    The decks looks good but why Drag to the Bottom instead of Depopuplate?

    • @LegenVD
      @LegenVD  Год назад +3

      Double Black is easier on the manabase given the other cards, it doesn't let the opponent draw, gets around Indestructible and we can have our Atraxa survive -6/-6. So not many reasons to prefer Depopulate.

    Would be interesting to see your overall winrate with this deck. I crafted it and iam never able to draw any land, maybe the shuffler hates only 25 lands. Playing in plat since reset and no matter how ofter i mulligan the mana never works. Deck looks very very unconsisting to me

    • @lighty.6292
      @lighty.6292 Год назад +1

      Maybe more lands overall, less basic lands and a few more tri color lands would help? I want to make something like this but am also skeptical about its consistency. Crokeyz made one a bit ago that had 28 lands and no basics, although that is gonna be tough on the wildcards lol.

  • @mikeyj.philly
    @mikeyj.philly Год назад

    They actually printed a card that costs 4 diff colors of 7 mana and actually makes the game go on LONGER. These people are helpless on that design team

    • @nurikhsan8821
      @nurikhsan8821 Год назад

      Because nowadays design team always think about V A L U E when creating a card...
      Every "good cards" now can be summarized into two types, a card that gives you more value, or a card that gives you fast clock. There's no room for creativity, or sideboarding tactics, because every cards now made with BO1 format in mind.
      Speaking about creativity, for example, Atraxa here, is basically just Niv Mizzet Reborn draw slapped on Akroma stats. Her strength comes from her value. Remove that ETB ability, she is just a 7 mana fatty with no protection whatsoever.

    Hey LegenVD how do you come up with the decks you play?

    • @LegenVD
      @LegenVD  Год назад +4

      I let my Patreon supporters pick cards for me to build a deck around most of the time. Then it's just a matter of maximizing synergies, adjusting for the meta, building a functional manabase, testing the deck, swapping some cards around and going back to the drawing board if it doesn't work out. Some decks build themselves, others require more time to get right.
