Also, consuming tide (although not really helpful against an enemy with only one threat), hullbreaker, and although you almost never see it, impede momentum is a cute little spell. Especially if you have some proliferate abilities.
Thanks for the super quirky build LVD! I love flexible, multipurpose cards like the Vorrac and Expand the sphere. A shame that this video suffers from cowardly opponents surrendering before they could witness perfection.
Love this artifact! I got my copy in foil for a weird lands matter build that will use the spheres and Locus! Awesome deck as usual Luca, you're the best man!!!
Thirsting roots is a must play in this deck in my opinion, in the early game it can search up a basic to help activate monument, and in the late game it can proliferate to finnish the opponent off. for 1 mana!
Although you can't keep a hand with Roots if it doesn't also have Green mana. It only works if the deck can very reliably produce green early, and ideally untapped.
an awesome meme deck. I enjoyed putting it together too after watching. but I remember seeing draft punks playing stuff like this. awesome. the land ramp with survey and expand are the best, I dont often get to play them in standard and when I get to play heavy ramp decks its the chance to use them. great cards
Edit: nevermind, got expand the spheres and survey mixed up. (Was suggesting an alternate line during game 3 involving proliferating onto a restoration)
There are already two Locus lands from the previous Mirrodin sets, Cloudpost and Glimmerpost. Cloudpost is banned in Modern and Pauper, and they aren't going to print more of them because it would break Legacy in half.
Just stopped by to say that while this build might be considered "jank", I made a slight modification and have been playing it on Alchemy ranked. So far, I've risen from Bronze 4 to Platinum 4. Granted, that's just getting to the REAL competition but it does show that it can compete in the right environment. The change was -2 x Restoration of Eiganjo, +4 x Norn's Fetchling. That's 62 cards, but this IS basically a jank deck and the Fetchlings are able to create the extra lands out of thin air that a larger deck technically requires. All I know is that, so far, it's working. Truthfully, I'm not sure I've even played Restoration of Eiganjo in any of my matches. I might just remove those to get back down to 60 cards or swap them out for two more Contagious Vorrac or maybe some sort of extra general purpose removal spells.
I have been dominating with this card since the release cause I unfortunately pulled 3 of them figured I’d build around it and just been having a. blast ever since. I suggest playing bankbuster though as abrade bait otherwise its annoying lol.
Heheh I love going to regular queue and getting completely blown out by cards Noone has ever heard of its great. I cast white sun's twilight. My opponent had a vampires vengeance in their non vampire deck? 4/5 decks I played against had urabrasks forge. Literally solos this deck
I wish people would actually try and make their own original decks. Sick of everyone just copy and paste. Or if there was a "meta detector" for the play queue to keep those decks out.
Monoblue's only interaction is Fading Hope, so of course they drew 4 of it. Not that it made a difference but geez Louise.
Technically, isn’t Slip out the Back also interaction in an emergency?

Everytime I see an oppressive mono-blue deck get completely owned by jank (like this), I can't help but smile. Well done.

great video and great editing mate
Glad you enjoyed it
I was waiting for this since the very first day I saw this card
The first game was insane. Monoblue go tthe best possible draws and still lost.

Elesh's Scorn definitely needs to be a real card name now haha
Edit: nevermind, got expand the spheres and survey mixed up. (Was suggesting an alternate line during game 3 involving proliferating onto a restoration)
That would work perfectly if Survey actually could proliferate.
@@MetalHev shoot! You're right, it was so similar to expand the spheres in my head I got them mixed up 😅
Monument to Perfection might be interesting with Snow covered lands
If anyone else builds this deck, add experimental augury to it so you can either find a wipe or proliferate your last poison
the monument looks like something that will just eat every single type of removal if i try to use it.
@@GARCIIIAmonster farewell, anoint with affliction, and any sacrifice type kills it
Thumbnail game is strong as ever
Haha, what a glorious implementation of complete jank suggested by a supporter on Patreon. ;)
Love to see mono blue lose. Awesome job man!
Presumably the Loci type cards will come next set. Depending on what they are, this deck might get better. Worth revisiting the concept later.

Though the normal play queue allows these quirky decks to succeed, it also means people scoop very quickly :(
Googly eyes on the thumbnail let's you know the video is gonna be legendary
The thumbnail is so cute 🥰
The name Monument to Perfection reminds me of Tenacious D's song "The Tribute".

LVD brewing up some jank provides a lot of value

Can you also break down font of progress or Mirran safehouse?
There are people playing mono-blue Djinn in the Play Queue?!
Wow.
Nice deck, thx
I really like Monument of Perfection, it's a cool card. But sadly it will not see any competetive play, like 95% of the cards of every set :(
Whats your reasoning for not blocking the double strike toxic in third game?
Contaminator deals the same amount of Poison after it proliferates.
Monument to Perfection finally solved
For how hard monument is to get going I feel like it should have toxic 10
9/9!
Monoblue dude lost to the absolute slowest deck in standard. You can't fail much harder than that.

Gonna try this with a little amount of proliferation. Seems dec
Sweet jank
So finally this card can be helpful getting lands for atraxa or twilight and nothing more pretty much.
This is somehow more complicated than Mechtitan Core.
Uaaaaooooooo
Weird, I like it....
Odd to not play Wrenn and Seven in this
Lovely thumbs. Seems like your patreons trolled you a bit.

Kawai thummbnail.
Wow 30 land . I play with 24 land it not work like this
til monument doesn't even trample. beyond useless smh
no not Atraxa again, at least only as a side dish
Oh boy, I can't wait to see what shenanigans you pull to make that garbage heap of a card actually work 😅
Why so late. I've been waiting for a minute
