This vlog i decided to not speed up some of my repetitive making parts, your welcome to skip through those or speed them up if it doesnt interest you to much!
I actually talk alot in this vlog even though i set out to do minimal talking and just film me making whoopsie

Im a 22 year old from Gippsland, Victoria. I started Madebytaylahrose when I was 15 years young. I decided to make a youtube channel to post my tutorials and tips/tricks that Ive learnt being a young entrepreneur over the last 7 years.

Here in Norway we are on our way into spring. Some parts of the country still have snow, but were I live we can see some green gras and the early spring flowers coming up!

Love this video! And to answer your question, It's technically spring in the US, but weather varies by state. Where I live in Washington State, it's been getting a bunch of heat at 75-80 degrees F, but on the Oregon Coast, it's lower at mid-50's.
British spring/summer at the moment clocks have just gone forward so I think we just started summer time 😂

Trust me, I don’t change my needle like ever even if I make clothing (even worse... I sewed for a year with the same 100 years old needle from my great grandma and her threadle sewing machine)

We are technically in spring but here in New York we are having crazy weather. One day it was high 80s (Fahrenheit) but tonight it is 32°f. Crazy!!!

Thank you so much! Winters are not bad here at all, I’ve never even seen snow! But I get so cold normally so they aren’t very fun for me ahah 😁😁
@@TaylahRose Same I also suffer from being extremely cold while others are fine lol but it does get cold where I am and it snows every winter for sure. Not as much as other areas but my state is border neighbor to Canada in the north, luckily I'm in the Southern-most part of the state so it could be worse but not fun. Snow is beautiful but such a hassle to travel in and after a few mins of being outside and you're ready to come back in from the cold.

The 'change needle every 8 hours' is a bit much imho! I worked in a seamstress hop for a while, and we would change the needles every morning, so I agree with you on not changing them all the time. I am curious tho, how often do you oil/service your machine(s) ?

I definitely don’t do it as often as I should! I should be doing it weekly with the amount I use them but normally I self oil/service it every 3ish weeks

Hi! That’s amazing thanks so much I’m so happy I’ve inspired her! I just use birch or the cheapest thread and I have no issues using it with either of my Elna or singer machines! Happy sewing ☺️☺️
@@TaylahRose ooh one more question, spotlight currently have 50% off machines. Can you tell me which machine you prefer out of your Elna and singer? My daughter is currently using my first machine (from Kmart!!! 🤣), whilst she doesn’t have any issues at the moment I am not sure how many hours she will get out of it
I would definitely recommend the Elna experience 550! I love this machine, it has a function where you can change the speed setting and being a computerised machine it has a lot of functions that the singer does not! Although the singer 4432 is great for going fast I wouldn’t recommend for a child/ someone starting out due to not being able to control speed easily, I also find the Elna better to finish items with as it’s neater stitch ☺️ the Elna also comes with a massive plate thing that sits around the machine like a table which I also really prefer. 😁hope this helps!

Thanks! I use non roll ribbed elastic which is 2cm wide for my wide elastic scrunchies ☺️☺️ scrunchies are around 11/12cm by 45-50cm

When do you have your school summer break then? In teh summer or winter?
I’m not sure how it works in USA but over here we have terms/semesters in school. Usually 4 with 2 week breaks in between each and then in middle of December until start of February there’s a long break which is over summer! That’s for most primary schools and high schools also universities too!
@@TaylahRose I'm actually from Poland. We have only 2 semesters with 2 week break aroud January and February (each part of Poland have different two weeks) and then long summer vacation from last week of June till 1st of September. At the universities till 1st if October. And in December we have a break from school for holidays and that's till 7th of January.
The cheapest clearance fabric at my spotlight is $10/m. Everyone buys it out before it gets any cheaper

No I don’t ☺️ I use 0-1mm stitching across it never comes apart

Did you ever figure out why your stickers were cutting a little bit off with the cricut? I’m not having the same issue and don’t know how to fix it.
I needed to recalibrate it ☺️☺️
@@TaylahRose oof idk what’s wrong with mine then. I’ve recalibrated and it cut that paper fine but still screwing up my stickers:(
That’s so strange! Is it just not cutting in the correct spots?
@@TaylahRose it’s cutting off center so it leaves an uneven amount of white space around each sticker
