Trails in the Sky (Sora no Kiseki) SC Ending

- I apologize for not being able to record the scenes right after the final boss, but I will summarize what happens below (I'm doing this from memory, so please tell me if something is... not right):
After deafeating the final boss (Weissmann infused with the Aureole), the Aureole disappears, and Weissmann teleports away. The party quickly hurries to Loewe's side, but he is dying since he essentially sacrificed himself in order to break the barrier created by the Aureole. He tells Joshua that he finally understands why Karin (Joshua's sister) was able to smile even at the very end. He also tells Joshua to continue living in order to protect those he loves, instead of dying to protect the ones he loves. Loewe is grateful for Estelle since she was able to save Joshua, and makes her promise him to always take care of Joshua.
The rest of the people from above (who were fending off the monsters so you could fight Weissmann) have come down, and tells your party that if it weren't for Loewe, they wouldn't possibly be alive. Just then, the gang feels tremors, and Professor Russell informs them that Liber Ark (the floating city they're on) is falling apart since the Aureole is no longer around to support it. Everyone makes way for the exit and start to head back to the Arseille, except for Joshua who is still by Loewe's dead body.
Estelle slaps Joshua into his senses, and he takes Loewe's sword (poor Loewe's body... lol) and the two continue on. Meanwhile, Weissmann is seen trying to escape, and he realizes that the Grandmaster may have actually been testing HIM all along. Kevin Graham appears and kills Weissmann using the Stake of Salt (or something like that) by the order of the church. Kevin reveals that he is actually one of the Dominion, a group of twelve knights of the church. (I guess we will have to wait for the 3rd to find out more...)
Anyways, the gang is escaping, when Joshua falls to the ground. Estelle runs to his side. Kevin (HOW DID HE CATCH UP SO FAST?????) reveals that it is a side effect of removing the tattoo thing (I forgot the name of it) on Joshua's arm and that Joshua will be in pain for a while. He manages to get up and continue walking, but he notices a boulder/pillar/rubble/whatever falling and gets Estelle out of the way. The two are then stranded on the opposite side of the rest of the people. They will remember that there was an emergency tunnel in the opposite direction somewhere, so Estelle and Joshua quickly make their way in the opposite direction. They find the emergency tunnel, and walk through it. And the rest is in the video (I cut out all the boring walking, you're welcome)...

Seriously, nothing ever made me this emotional for years. The running part instantly remind of Lufia 2's ending but this time I totally knew that they will survive for sure yet the scene when they hold onto each other tightly while the tower falling apart still legitimately made me bawled my eyes out.
It was just too wonderfully executed and the whole journey through 2 games already got me attracted to the characters, this scene probably will never failed to make me teared up whenever I see it again.

Trails in the Sky SC is my game of the year of 2023 so glad i started this series
Being with the one you love even when everything's about to fall apart... I don't think there are words to describe the feeling. That bittersweet feeling. That ending scene was so well done. I actually had doubts about their survival when I watch the place collapsing. My breath was held and tears streamed down my cheeks.
A very satisfying conclusion to a wonderful game. After finishing this game, I felt like as though I went on such a profound journey. No other game has made me feel the same.

Trails in The Sky 3rd, Zero no Kiseki, Ao no Kiseki, Trails Cold Steel I - IV
@@bayuasrinovianto8820 Eventhough there are many more Trails games, after playing them all (and liking them!) until Cold Steel 3 I felt like all of them couldn't quite deliver like the Sky duology. (Let's leave 3rd aside for that as it is more like fan service and connecting loose ends for the next arc, which is good!)
I actually cried when Cassius and the dragon showed up and I saw that they were saved. Just finished the game and going onto the 3rd now. Definitely one of my favourites. Great storyline, character development and beautiful music.
Just finished the Second Chapter and went straight to RUclips to review this masterpiece of an ending...That is a perfect example that games don't need to have good graphics to give you shivers. That scene on top of the trembling tower is just...beautiful.
I played this game lightly at 1st, I though it was a boring b-serie game that I would never finish.
I'll be damned! It was one of the best jrpg I ever played!!! It's a shame that so few knows about this serie.
Outside of Japan they're not so well known due to the lack of promoting and marketing overseas. Falcom isn't as good as SqE, Bandai Namco, or Capcom in these departments.
They do, however, roll over them in terms of storytelling in game. Both SqE's FF series and Namco's Tales series are either hit or miss despite having so many titles, and Capcom no longer doing traditional JRPG and instead focus on MonHunt.
Spreading the word is what you can do
Wow, my heart sunk right through the floor when they fell at 1:46. Not knowing much about this series beyond these two games combined with the dark themes that ran through this story, I thought there was a 50/50 chance that was the end for them. I had to come and immediately watch it again what fantastic games the FC and SC were.
God I was such an emotional wreck during this scene, I thought Estelle and Joshua was a goner. I screamed when Ragnard saved them.

The first time I was also a wreck, and I think the exact words out of my mouth were a very sincere "Cassius Bright, you Magnificent Bastard!"
Just finished this game last night. Such a great ending. Games just aren't built to this caliber anymore. The world building and character development are truly next level. The emotions evoked with were strong for a reason. Can't wait to play the 3rd and move on to Trails of Cold Steel series.
Don't forget to play trails of zero and trails of azure before cold steel

This is the bestest, cutest scene in Trails.
Weird...when i finished it, all the characters waved towards me, towards the player, towards the camera, breaking the fourth wall, like saying goodbye and thank you for playing
I think the hardest part of this ending for me was the fact I knew from this point forward Joshua and Estelle start being relegated to side-characters. They're probably some of my favorite protagonists of all time.
I felt the same, i love them so much as MCs, i loved their journey together, so well written characters and their chemistry, that of course we wanted more of them as MCs, in fact, for me, they stole the show from the MCs of the crossbell arc of games later even with them being supporting characters.

I just finished Sky the 3rd minutes ago and it hurts all over again.

The only thing that I think could have made this ending more powerful is if they found a way to rely on imagery, not words, and just embraced the silence of the matter for longer (kind of what happens in FF7, just after a certain Jenova fight). I could actually envision a truly perfect version of this ending that has absolutely no dialog until the credits, after the kiss; but it might be relying on more animation budget than these games tend to have.
The writers truly have a way with words, so they got past the limitations of their budget.

It definitely did but with it being a lake the damage was minimal.
All the damage it did is wetting some docks and throwing away the fishing guild.

FFS... hate this stupid game... okey ngl this game was great... BUT WHY TF DID THE ENDING SCENES AND STUFF CUT OUT? i was so confused with the black screen forever with music, came to youtube and to see whats up, and hey my game decided to cut some content... thx game... thx for ruining my once in a lifetime experience
