  • Costs and pricing for network or telephone cabling installation for your project. bridgecable.com...
    Network cabling installation prices range from $125 to $150 across the nation. Different factors for network cabling installation costs depend on the office or even the length of the cable. Our online guide for 3 minutes reviews how to save money and adjust your budget.
    Our Philadelphia Project Manager Paul A Wallace gives some insight and some great tips.
    Basic network cabling drop for $125 covers 150ft of the actual wiring into a light duty office using drywall. Termination of the wiring into a existing patch panel and the newly installed network jack seated into a drywall caddy or mount.
    Some other options to consider if budget allows is the following:
    Conduit for warehouse runs or backbone cabling.
    Vendor guidelines or a checklist for parts to use. Like Panduit or Levitron products?
    Extra patch panel needed or just using existing network devices?
    One key tip would be with the cost of labor really only the factor we at Bridge Cable would suggest always running at least CAT 6 cabling. Prices for CAT 6 gear is so small compared to CAT5 or CAT 5e that it makes sense to have your network robust and powerful.
    Cabling Reports are mentioned and a HUGE plus with any installation. First of all the mere cost of owning or using the cabling certification testers shows you have a dependable and knowledge team installing your network. Many low voltage companies are just a friend of a friend that figured out how to do a tad bit of cabling. Either way the reports on each cable gives IT support and Managers that piece of mind on the cabling.
    Plan your network cabling installation the right way and call BridgeCable.com for expert advice and money saving tips as well.
    We travel the PA, New York and New Jersey areas so we can offer free on-site help and can review your next project.

    Brand new dentist office. All lines have been run by an electrician. He needs me to come in to terminate, wall plate, map, and tag about 25 lines. He has all supplies needed. No idea what to charge him.

      Older video that still holds weight. For just termination I would suggest $95 per hour. Typically takes 2 hours to punch a 48 panel.....so less time. Depends on materials and if the cables are labelled already. I would price out the parts via Amazon and then figured 8HRS max on the above project. Think about drive time....sort out the bundle....going back and jacking the end locations. After that make a map and provide tests results. Most people carry a cert tester....however if just starting out...pictures of the 4 pair tester with a pass or fail next to the patch panel number. IN Philadelphia or New Jersey....$760 plus materials....all day long.

      Congrats on the new company! We have a branch open in Cape Coral as well. I would suggest two things. #1 Open a Google Drive or a shared network drive. Keep all files neatly stored for clients and hires. Etc...Cabling Certs, Training Forms, BluePrints. That way is always accessible to your team. #2 - Create a standard of close out. Pictures, Cabling Certs, network maps. Getting the jobs is one thing....closing out the jobs from tech to tech gets foggy. Create a perfect customer experience and then document it. Works for 1 wire...or 400 wire jobs. Good luck with the company....15 years....Bridge Cable has been quite a ride!

    125 including the RJ45 in both ends and the cable ? Or how much do we have to charge for the cable per ft and the ends ?

    • @BridgeCable
      @BridgeCable  7 месяцев назад +1

      It varies but BEST ADVICE. Do your math and make a materials list. Major installs we charge for the boxes of cabling and 10% on the top. Smaller service ticket work by the foot. I won't review our pricing but seen places that charge $2 per RJ-45 head. After a few jobs...you should have a pricing guide of your own. Post it when ready! Thanks for viewing!

    when you say drop, would you consider 2 ports with in the same run a drop? you can pull two or three at a time in the same location.

    • @BridgeCable
      @BridgeCable  7 лет назад +2

      Internally we call a drop one wire....however that changes from each company. A huge install we just did the PM call 4 wires at each location a drop. Was confusing us at first. We just call them single drop, double drop, quad drop...etc. Of course you can indeed pull all the wires at the same time......running one wire/cable at a time....oh boy....that would be some time :)

    • @BridgeCable
      @BridgeCable  3 года назад +3

      Not typically in giving budget numbers. One thing on our site surveys of the place is the ceiling support, you hope for most of the path to have junior beams but at times you have have to create them. Quotes without a walk thru is rough, the place you are cabling might have some challenges. We subbed out for an out of state company, they did not factor in 18FT ceilings....blew the labor rate out the door! Now in that project....limited J-Hooks.....junior beams :)

    is the price hourly? How do you price big projects approximately 40 hours?

    • @BridgeCable
      @BridgeCable  8 лет назад

      +louie verdin Not hourly price......that would be amazing for our industry! Big projects say like over 100 drops/locations depend on the building. However typically pricing in racks, jacks, wiring and manpower $125 is a great starting point. Site Surveys are a great way to get exact pricing.....for example a large 400+ drop job we did factored in around $85 per drop. Use the $125 to gauge or budget for new work. Hope this helps! :) www.bridgecable.com/installation_pricing.htm

    There is no such thing as an average cost for network cabling. I've seen posts all over the Internet stating average costs for CAT5, CAT5e and CAT6 cabling and I just have to laugh. As a technology contractor and owner of a low voltage cabling company since 1996, I can tell you first hand that each job is different as each clients needs are different, and each building the cabling has to be installed within is different. Also, the costs of copper cabling go up and down all the time. Those companies who advertise, "We install low-voltage cabling for $125 per drop" are kidding themselves and will not remain in business very long. These companies are miss leading potential clients and are committing false advertising. These same companies are basically dangling carrots out in front of consumers in an effort to get your attention so they can ultimately provide you a quote. You'll quickly find that their quote is for far more than $125 per cable/drop.
    You can't sit behind a desk and budget for an office cabling system by picking an average cost you find on the Internet and multiplying that by the number of cables or cable drops you have, don't kid yourself, and don't be lazy. Rather, provide your business with a solid budget number by creating a scope of work that you can give to 3 local low-voltage contractors so they're all bidding on the same scope so you acquire apples-apples bids. Bring them onsite and ask them to provide you a "firm, not to exceed" bid. Don't settle for an estimate. Those who estimate don't know what they're doing, get a firm quote so you'll have no unexpected back end costs from the contractor. An estimate is just that and leaves an opening for the contractor to add in whatever they want or need. Don't get trapped into this sort of quote or you may end up with a much larger final bill or a contractor who wants more money in the middle of a job before they finish the job. Demand a firm quote and don't settle for anything less.
    Also, realize that your office data cabling is the "backbone of your network" and is an actual electrical system in itself. If the system is not installed by a reputable, experienced low-voltage contractor, and also per manufacturers recommendations, local and state codes and by industry standards, you will more than likely end up with an inconsistent poor performing network and have a hard time diagnosing consistent network issues.
    Don't skimp on your office cabling system by hiring the lowest cost contractor and or solution, or you'll be sorry and you'll end up spending way more money in the end...

      David we love this comment!! You miss the point of the video as we are not offering $125 per drop "moonlight" specials. :) This video is a STARTING point for budgets. Many calls we get every week have no idea what to price new jobs at. Companies need help in factoring in the wiring of the new office or location. Why we love your comment....because you explain all the other factors. We agree....you need boots on the ground to gauge the site and work. I'm sure you would agree with the video....a good starting point for a "average" job would be $125 per drop. Love the comment.....keep em coming! :)

      Don't forget prevailing wage jobs. I also once bid a job to have it subcontracted for a large Hospital in Chicago. I didn't realize that each worker must have his "labor start time" as soon as he enters Cook county. So at least 1 hour each day each worker. So the Man hours for the job were off.
