How Police Officers Investigate Crime

  • What do these investigation officers from Singapore’s Tanglin Police Division do on a 12-hour night shift?
Real life isn’t quite like police dramas #Brooklyn99, #LawandOrder or #CSI. CNA Insider shadows the officers as they respond to crime cases in an area that ranges from Bukit Timah to Bishan, Orchard Road and Kampong Java.
Solving crime, however, extends far beyond the 12-hour shifts which they pull 4-5 times a month.

Or for any enforcement officers. In 🇸🇬, 🇲🇾 or anywhere else. One does this kinda job because you own the job. People around you expect you to be good at it. A thank you is welcome but that's not why you do it. Of course burn outs occur. That's a risk you already know. If you can't hack it, just leave. Thankless really.

Tuan, unresolved cases are KIV cases... Keep in View. They aren't closed, just dormant till something new about them crops up. When you have 2 dozen or more cases per officer expect things to go slowly but surely. From the outside, sure, brickbats fly... but these guys aren't playing golf 99% of the time. That's the nature of investigations

You do not require any particular course to join IO. Once you sign on Direct Entry Sergeant with diploma, you will usually start as a Ground Response Officer at a Neighbourhood Police Centre. Subsequently once you get a few years of experience, then you can apply for IO which they will teach you the skillsets required if you are selected. If you sign on Direct Entry Inspector with a degree, you will go through a few posting and one of it will usually be IO.

    • @techgamerboy8807
      @techgamerboy8807 3 года назад +1

To be an IO, you need to join as a direct entry inspector, and the minimum requirement is at least a University Degree in any field. Or your second option is to join as a direct entry sergeant first, for that , the minimum requirements are at least an O lvl cert,NITEC/Higher Nitec/Poly cert.
They’ll post you to a NPC for around 2 years and thereafter, you may then look out for postings to your desired division ie (investigation).
You may read more at SPF’s website if you’re really keen.

now. criminal elders aged 20s to 80s recruit & groom young ones as young as 5yr olds to break into folding windows to open door from inside with or without owners in the house .
some will lower kids from upper floors to infiltrate homes with unlock rubbish chutes. these chutes are big enough for kids to enter . if not kids , then they will encourage skinny slim person to do the crime . look out for brave small kids & skinny persons with narrow skull . these people will have the same "square face " as mentioned by officer in this video . they are all an oscar winning🏆actors .
truth is anyone including me may be guilty until proven in court .
but these cunning "square poker face" criminals are an absolute difficult to catch

    Here's an example:
You're ex-wife is making false accusations about you.
Creating a domestic situation that needs to be resolved.
Call the police and say, "My ex-wife is creating a disturbance."
Office: "Where did the violence take place?"
If you don't stop right there.
    You're doomed.
    Give an address.
    Get arrested.
    No violence took place?
    They don't care.
    They just tricked you.
    Hmmm...
You must correct them immediately. "There is no violence. Stop putting words into my mouth." It's important to correct it on the recorded messages. Try to never talk to an officer on their personal phone. They can make up anything.
Police investigation - anyone going out of their way to make a positive ID on you and pay to much attention to your activities. You might be under surveillance. Cops aren't really good at it, but be careful.
It's a sure sign that they are setting you up.
Never give your address (in person) or location (over the phone) to such a person.
It's how they are trained to trick you.

I’m going to just give my thoughts. The way things are run inside the organisation has to change. I can’t say too much but the people who have been in the force will agree. Loyalty courage integrity fairness. You say these words when you join with noblest intentions. Few year in of getting fked real hard by superiors and victim to politics and a serious lack of pay. Loyalty courage integrity and fairness don’t exist. The people that disagree they don’t want to recruit and the people that understand what I’m saying don’t want to stay. This is the dilemma.

Same for the army. Somehow all these jobs which are supposed to be noble have such dark sides to them.
