Is the base top glass or glossy plastic?

I have questions about can i hold it on 95 or 100 celsius ?

You can hold it on up to 95C when you have selected the hold switch on the back. It will maintain that selected temperature. If you wish to heat the water to between 96C -100C you need to turn off the hold feature. I explained in the video
