Aww, Claire. You've done incredible work in both raising awareness and providing valuable information to the autistic community and you are *so* appreciated. Sharing can be really hard, and particularly over a long period of time, so I'm glad you've made the important decision to take care of yourself.
It's of course sad news, both for yourself and the community, but it *is* ok to make that change and I look forward to seeing where your creative journey takes you after a much-needed rest. Take it easy, lovely! 🧡

I’m very proud of you for doing what is best for you. I want you to know you’ve helped me in ways that are immeasurable and irreversible. You can drop the mic in the personal journey content. You leave it a champion. ❤

Claire, long time lurker first time commenter, but I just wanted to let you know I will miss you, but I am so proud and excited for this big new step for you!! It can be really hard sometimes to truly recognize when things things need to change.
I also did a big life change recently (changed jobs, moved countries), and I'm really proud of myself for it. My one piece of advice (and I'm sure you'll do this so much better than I did) is to make sure you find a good routine! I got really depressed after my life change, and I think it's partly because it took me a lot longer than expected to get a good routine. So life got really hard for a bit. Or, more accurately, it became apparent just how difficult life is and how many systems I had in place to deal with it all. But it's all just growing-pains. I think I've grown a lot and growth isn't always easy.
Recently I've been also recognizing the power of weekly routines, like porch coffee! So I really appreciate you for doing this for so long! I'm trying to get more weekly routines with different friends in real life too now. Best of luck to you! And get well soon!

I'm gonna leave my comment around 8:40 before you explain yourself because you don't need to explain. As somebody who has been trying to figure out how much of myself to share with my (as of yet unused) autism channel, and its tough. It's hard to be vulnerable, especially on the internet. I think you're amazing for everything you've done already and I'm so happy that I got to be here for almost the full ride. I learned a lot watching you grow with your channel and I want you to know you should be proud.
I'm sure I can speak for your entire community when I say that we wish you nothing but the best. Should you decide to release a video, you know we'll be here, but we want you to do what is best for you.

Thank you Claire, for the effort and care you've poured into the Porch Coffee videos and this decision. (+not to mention the other helpful content you share) 🧡🧡🧡
You are a great example. You are very strong for doing this, and sharing your thoughts behind your decision with so much care now.
Hoping this is not unsolicited advice, but if you miss the part of porch coffee that is essentially "video journaling", you can do private porch coffees with no intention of uploading (and don't!!). I've always found it hard to write journals, and sometimes when I feel the need to, I will just record some video journals instead.
Sending you much love, and I'm grateful for your content and you making good decisions for yourself. Will miss seeing you pop up in my feed every monday, but I have your podcasts and other videos to catch up on anyway, and am looking forward on what else is to come! The sadness I feel is miniscule in comparison to the happiness I feel from you doing what's best for you. 🧡🌿☕

I forgot to share my week! Well, my message was long enough anyway, haha. But this weekend has been rough, I've been in sensory overload/migraine/idk for days. Constantly on the brink of meltdown, can't stand brightness, I think the dry air of Swedish winter is making me extra sensitive. But the good that it brings is a bit of a forced rest, and much like you are doing I need to have a good look at my life and cut the corners that seem to steal my spoons all the time.
Good thing that happened this week is that my psychiatry place is going to make a referral for an autism assessment!! I've had my anxieties and ADHD/ADD diagnosis for a few years, but it's becoming apparent to me that there's more to it. In the meantime, I'm trying to self accommodate to the best of my ability, with the help of wonderful autistic creators such as yourself, and by reading books to better understand myself. 💙

Dear Claire, I cried with you and could feel how hard this was for you to share. You know what is best for you and you need to do what is best for you! First! Only then can you show up for those you love and for anyone else you have room for.
You are unique and no one can wear your "shoes" and walk in them. (Or live your life) Only you can walk in them comfortably - so please don't try to wear "shoes" that others force on you. They will hurt, give you blisters, bleed, get infected and soon you won't be able to "walk" at all.
I have been enjoying your content and it has been helping me for over a year now! I'm grateful for all that you have provided for this community. So I want to give back what I can and give you grace and love for your decision! Please take care of yourself and do what is good for you. Whatever you decide to do and share in the future should be coming for a place of wellbeing and abundance and not a place of privation.
Thank you for leaving your channel and contents up and maybe every now and then you will enjoy putting up a new video because you felt like it and not because youtube is demanding it to please the algorythm.
Lot's of love and gratitude, your Ella 💝

One of the things that I ❤ about you, Claire, is your being true to yourself! You were the first autistic RUclips channel I watched after my meltdown, research, and self-diagnosis. I have grieved, celebrated, and begun to understand myself because of you and others who have been brave and willing to share your personal experiences of being on the spectrum. THANK YOU for helping me to love and accept myself the way I have done my best to do for others. Well done, friend! 🎉 No matter where you are being led, keep being true to yourself. You are a positive role model, with or without sharing what I like to refer to as "our inside story" that we bless others with when we are called to do so - and keep inside when it's in our own best interest. I SO wish I would have known about my AuDHD brain many years ago. I wouldn't have been so critical and definitely more loving and respectful of how I was wonderfully created! I love US just the way we are - on most days! 😊

Hi Claire. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and not just disappearing! I understand. It is surprising to me that anyone wants to share personal stuff on the internet: I often struggle to share things with the few important and trusted people in my life, and the idea of showing my face on camera makes me very uncomfortable. It has been a privilege to follow your journey, and you've taught me a lot about autism. Here's wishing you well for your more private future. One of your many internet friends x

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and have strong suspicions that I have AuDHD. Your podcast was very helpful as a jumping off point to see the various personalities and hear their stories. Thank you! This was the first porch coffee that I checked out. Bad timing I guess :) Good luck.- I hope that stepping back is helpful and healing.

I wish you all the best!

Thank you Claire for all your beautiful content, I appreciate your openness with your journey. I used to be a yoga teacher before I got my adult diagnosis. I went into an extreme burnout and needed to stop teaching even though I loved it. I totally understand your need for more privacy. I hope you continue to make some kind of content, but most importantly I wish you well as you take care of yourself and your needs.

The timing of this is amazing Claire. I only recently found out I was autistic and just learned about you and your channel. I had just started a channel around autism, and have been praying about whether or not it is really congruent with my heart to do it. And now, you've articulated your decision in such a way that I sense my own heart around this.
Claire, even though I only just "met" you, I feel so proud of you for honoring your own soul. May you flourish in every way in this next phase of your journey... and I just know you will. You are a remarkable young woman, gifted, kind, creative, and generous. May you soar on wings like eagles in all your days to come!

Although I will miss porch coffee and your bright and gentle spirit here on youtube, I understand. Social media can be very rewarding but it can also be really challenging and stressful and some us aren’t made for it the same way others seem to be. I had to step away from my cat/dog instagram account after my dad and one of my dogs passed away because it just didn’t feel right for me anymore. Around the same time, the instagram algorithm had changed, reels were being pushed, photos were being hidden and my posts were getting lost in the ethers. Engagement plummeted and it didn’t feel like something I could continue to pour so much of myself into. I was no longer finding joy and connection in it because it was just a constant battle to try and keep up with what the algorithm wanted, all while trying to grieve a series of tremendous losses. With autism and chronic illness and mental illness, keeping up with the social media algorithms can be next to impossible. It hurt to let it go, but ultimately I had to do what was right for me. And you need to do what is right for you. I know it’s not exactly the same but I hope it helps to know that you’re not alone in this experience. I’m glad you are planning to get back to the things that truly bring you joy and I look forward to any future videos featuring your crafting projects. Sharing your joy is still sharing your autism, even if it’s not exactly the same. I applaud you for making the decision to put your needs first, thank you for leading by example 💛💛💛

I totally understand your decision. Four years of sharing your own journey, you really can only do so much before you burnout. I know some people who are also suffering through illness at the moment, and have had to take a break. One thing though, please don't be a stranger, reach out if you just want to chat.

Proud of you, Claire. I hope that’s okay to say and that it reaches you in the most positive way. Even and especially in stepping back, you’re still a wonderful role model for this community. I wish you the absolute best as you embark on this next part of your journey, whatever that entails.
It’s funny, as I gear up to start (restart?) my own channel, I’ve foreseen potentially finding myself in a similar situation, potentially overextending and oversharing-even as a primary motivation is itself authentic expression and representation. And that has shaped how I intend to do things. I need to be careful, self-aware, and kind to myself. I’m more aware than ever at this point in my life that boundaries are an essential part of mental health, and your decision here is a well-timed reminder of that for me. So thank you for that, and for all you’ve done for the community these past several years.

Claire thank you for being your amazing self! I am a fairly recent viewer and have really enjoyed all the podcast episodes (you're an amazing host, even better than Orion 😉) as that is my special interest. Please follow your creative passion (not mine). Was thinking if you wanted to just before you are on a much needed break pre-schedule (if RUclips allows it) community posts of porch coffee highlights (ie post a link to a single porch coffee video at porch coffee time) and perhaps other highlights of other videos, that way your channel stays active while you are away and hopefully helps old subscribers enjoy the highlights and new subscribers discover something cool about Claire. Then when you return in whatever form might be you are ready to shine.

I think it's great! People evolve . There is always friction in movement at times if that makes sense for a lot of us. Im proud of you for taking control of your life. I wish I was in a position to do that myself.
To be safe and secure is to grow to your fullest potential.
I just saw these fabulous knitted silent stim fidgets. Twisty looking things that pull in and out of themselves. It would be great to buy those or know how to do that.
Can't wait to watch you grow!

Thank you for your heartfelt honesty, Claire, I can't imagine how difficult this must be. I am super-duper proud of you for listening to your needs and not falling into the trap of people-pleasing, which must be hard when you clearly do care so much about everyone here. I admit, I am sad to not wake up to Porch Coffee every Monday, but I am also happy for you to get some much needed rest. Besides, who knows what creativeness will emerge, once you eliminate some "To Do's" off your schedule and can come out the other side rejuvenated! I look forward to seeing what those new-found creative juices come up with for you! Much love from Canada! 🥰

☕️ It might be the end of one era but it's the beginning of the next! While I'll miss Porch Coffee, I think it's great to take care of yourself, learn & set your boundaries, & do what you need to do to take care of yourself! That's important! Having a following & being a content creator on RUclips always looks like being a celebrity in my opinion & honestly I can only imagine the pull and demand. You definitely seem to soar when you're embracing your creativity & sharing your talents though. Thank you for sharing so much of your journey & your talents!
I've been meaning to join for a bit so at least joining for December to hang as a member for the month! 😊 I hope you continue to feel better health wise and get to embrace your creativity while still taking care of yourself. Looking forward to the remaining content you have planned & of course what you're able to share moving forward. Sending all the good vibes & support!
