Today I am forty weeks pregnant*. What would you do on your due date? I'm not the type to sit around and wait. So follow along on my day as I go to a doctor appointment, teach a class, try to exercise the baby out, and make an Amish style supper. Who knows how this day will end!???

It’s totally ok to not want the membrane sweep! Haha baby will come when he wants to come. And fun fact. It’s baby that usually tells mom’s body when he’s ready to come, the baby will release a hormone telling mom’s body all his organs are done cooking. Haha

My youngest daughter was born on her due date. That was yesterday fifteen years ago. It was on St. Patrick's day and she tells everyone that she was born on a special day. Her brother and sister were two and three weeks early. I am praying that you have an easy labour x

Hi Megan. Praying for a safe delivery. Please don't feel pressured into interventions to stimulate labor! Your midwife needs to explain why it's being recommended. In Gods time. This is not your first so your body is primed. I know your excited but know you are surrounded with love and prayers. Your daughter is such a sweetie ! God bless! ☺️
I agree. Today was the day I was supposed to get my membranes stripped, but we didn't do it then! I really want to give my body as much time as possible to go into labor on its own!
When I grew up in Maine, my Grandma had one of those cellar doors that I would slide down.

Yup I feel you, a few of my friends always went early and before me with both my girls . 😑 but the up side to that was I got to go see their baby’s then! And that was always fun . But it would nice to be that person to go early once. Lol.

😅 I did end up getting mine stripped with Jaxon. It was right around thanksgiving and I was really wanting him to get here before! 😂 and I think it sped it up abit. Within 24 hours maybe? It’s not a guarantee that it works though.
So it worked for you? My mom had it done and it did nothing. Hard to tell though!

How you can walk so fast and for so long while you are 40 weeks pregnant?! I’m 29 weeks and my belly gets hard and tight to prevent me from walking at all

I had to have my membranes stripped with 2 of my kids over 40 yrs ago. It worked both times, but the first time I had no idea what it was till they did it. Wow lol I sure was surprised. Good luck!!

@@MeganFoxUnlocked I was 2 weeks late with each one. What I liked was no drugs are involved at all. When they strip your membrane the doctor sticks his or her hand in the vaginal canal and works your cervix loose basically. Usually you go into labor within less than 24 hrs.

I had my membrane swept with both pregnancies and it didn’t work. I went in to labor by myself both time the following week. I think your body will go into labor when it need to.

Yes, other women had their baby on my due dates! So frustrating!! My second child was due Sept. 5th, but I had him Sept. 16th. My third child was due Mar. 5th, but I had him Mar. 18th. Hang in there! I know how you feel!

Brave move skipping the sweep! I have two kids and the sweep made my last labor more painful! I’m skipping it with this baby :) Currently prepping a roast because of your dinner clip. I felt like I could smell that through the screen!
Good advice. I actually turned it down again today. I want to see if my body will start on its own!
Anyway due dates are only approximate but it's more or less within 2 weeks!❤️ safe delivery!

I am so jealous of your bump.. Thats how big I was at 6 months, At 37wks I had my daughter and she was 8 and 1/2 pounds.
I cried today, I felt so fat. Must be pregnancy hormones. So thank-you for the compliment. I probably don't know how good I have it!
40 weeks is just the estimate, 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after can be pretty normal. My 3 babies came 7 to 10 days before my due date, so my babies just took less time to cook.
My aunt gave birth to all 6 of her children around 43 to 44 weeks. They were around 10 to 12 pounds and she had all natural births. (Yes, that was allowed in Europe a couple decades ago...mayne its still the same.)

Bubs will come when he’s ready. All our babies came on ‘our’ due date. Not the doctors calculations. According to them I was nearly 2 weeks overdue
Well, I thought I was super regular so the due date should have been easy to figure out. I guess I just don't make babies in 9 months. Everyone is different, right?
I remember at one check-up at my OB/Gyn (somehow more discomfort than other checks), the dr. casually mentioned, "I stripped your membranes..." - say WHAT?! 😲 WHEN did we discuss that, and WHEN did you ask if I wanted that?! Grrr.

Also my midwife let me know that the 2nd babies labour could happen in half the time. I didnt expect her to be spot on, and ended up having a surprise at home delivery (because I didnt realize how far dilated I had become and expected to have hours of labour left based on my last delivery) so leave sooner than later! It's scary having a surprise home birth

It’s hard to stay patient😊My first one was two weeks late
I was 16 days late with my fifth son and I refused to be started. Labor was an hour and a half when he finally came! He was 16 months younger than the 4th one and I think they were just too close. Memories were too fresh in other words. :) Go with what you want! That was 14 yrs ago and now I'm pregnant with my 6th at 46 yrs old!!!!

@@MeganFoxUnlocked I wish I was very fit and healthy. Lol. I've struggled with thyroid issues ever since child #5. Lost 3 (unplanned) pregnancies before this one. Now I sit on the couch a lot while the boys do the work. :(
On a lighter note, my MIL accidentally was speeding things up way back when by building a snowman (totally possible over here today). Someone else decorated for a birthday party... blew up balloons... by mouth... baby day! Happened to her twice that way. 😁

So they say 40 weeks bc it's an easy rounded number. But most often than not babies are born at 41 weeks and 1 day. It's so hard when they tell you that date bc you're so ready by then and can't imagine having to wait another 8 days!
So my due date story is that I was pregnant with 2 coworkers and we we're all due on a Monday two weeks apart (M, Me, C). They others were having their second, I was having my first. So C ends up delievering a week early on Sunday. I find out that evening and jokingly tell her not fair bc I was next, so that's it, I'm having a C-section tomorrow. Well turns out that next day (yes exactly at 41+1) I did have an emergency C-section. Oops! Guess I should have held my tongue.
My sister in law who was due 2 weeks after me, breezed into the hospital 12 hours after me and had her baby 20 before me. 😳

Yeah, I wasn't sure either. Apparently it could possibly trigger your body into going into labor on it's own? But they say it won't work if your body isn't ready. I decided NOT to do it. At least for now.

Yes! I recited Psalm 139 over and over again with my first daughter too! It helped a lot! Wow, if you can raise 7, I can make it through two! What an encouragement!
