My sc430 the luxo 6 second burner. Hardtop convertible luxury cruiser. Excellent silky smooth V8. Love my car. In todays money that car new is a hundred thousand dollars. Antique navigation system. Complex beyond stupid. But such a sweet car to drive.

@@dino3442Dino is your flexible timing belt been changed at proper intervals because it is an interference fit engine and if that belt breaks the ENGINE PARTS RUN INTO EACH OTHER. MOST cars are non interference fit OR don’t use the flexible timing belt like LEXUS did on these excellent engines. Change the belt AND the pulleys and front engine parts like water pump at same time. A good high quality job like that is 2400-3000. A low quality job can be had for 1500. RUclips has an excellent video of that engine job being done start to finish on a SC430

Seems like they’re all being driven in drive without brake torquing.. doesn’t really matter though. All of these motors are capable with the right parts and right tuner 👍🏾

@@CGJ7755 maybe idk i never recorded the times on my 92 or 98 but the pre vvti 97 and before that only had 250-260 hp and 1998 is when vvti was added and was rated at 290 hp that’s the stats the listed on the screen so that’s why i said vvti

Is there a way to prevent short-shifting on the '96 5 speed auto? Looks like it would rip if only the gearbx let it get to 6.500 rpm.

Shift it yourself? Just throw it in L and then shift up yourself
