my absolute dream car (perfect world) would be a brand new mint 9000 with just a couple minor updated performance mods. that would be a beast and unbelievably cool
Damnit the launch on the 9-5 was perfect for having ESM/TCS on, but then they ruin it by changing too low in 2nd, you have full boost in 2nd and 3rd man, USE IT!
AFAIK gear 1 and 2 have torque limiters in Trionic 7. It's there to prevent wheelspin so it's set very high, but you don't consistently have full boost until gear 3.
In my late 90's Saab 900 (when they first changed to the more modern shape), I had a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder manual. That motor is definitely missing here. Maybe it was only available in Australia?
@@striker1458 As I said it was a V6 and a manual transmission. I guarantee it. It was aubergine colour and the very first iteration when the 900 changed shape to be more modern after so many years.
Just to clarify, it was petrol. The first diesel car I ever owned in my life was a Landrover Freelander 2 in 2011, the SD4 HSE. It is also the only diesel car I have ever owned.
The 54° V6 was pretty slow. It appears only the fastest engine per model got included here. 2.0T for the C900 & NG900, 2.3T for the NG9³, 9000, & C9⁵, & 2.8T for the NG9³ & NG9⁵.
saabs aren't really good to compare 0-60s with, they are terrible in first gear and a lot lower peak boost in first to try and limit wheelspin, if it was like 35-90 you could really tell where the speed is for them
Full sized trucks and SUVs get better 0-60. It's a shame we can only compare to other Saabs in vlogs like this, but nothing can replace the feeling of driving a Saab.
0:40 wrong car. The car shown in the video is a 9-3 NG, but the specs listed are those of an OG.
Oh no! Please do some training on finding the sweat spot and also fast shifting and clutching! The old 900 is tricky but it can go much faster!
True. I have had 3 individuals in ownership. Three 99.four 900,one 900 NG, one 9000 and now ( 13 Years already) 9-5 og stw aero.
9000 Beating cars 20 years newer.
I don't think it was a stock 9000
0-100 factory times are 6,8 seconds for a 9000 Aero 🙂👍
saab 0-60 times are 60% how good the surface is and how good of a launch they get, the ng 900 for example had wheelspin all the way though first gear
@@houseking9211my 2.0T wheelspins all the way up to 4th gear. When its on dry hard ground it's like an absolute rocket

Either the 900 or the 9000 would be so cool to own
@@bpearr8266 900 was loved (owned one for 15 yrs) but ...not nearly ....as Good as Fanboys naively think they were.
I would like to see the engine of a SAAB 9000 Aero in a SAAB 9-5, and the 1998 SAAB 9-5 fitted with 4X4 system used in the SAAB 93 Aero X.
Love SAAB! 9000 is the best...
Love saab
makes two of us
That is why i drive 9000 😇

You put a 2003 and up 93 for the 1999, and you said it had a 2.3, they have a 2.0.

@@TIMED-Acceleration ur video is inaccurate

What about 2009 93 2L turbo 210 hp
0:40 that is a YS3F not a YS3D
Respect to all SAABs and their owners. Turbo X owner.
WHY NO VIGGEN?
I have the 1.8 i in the Netherlands. Glad with it with te gas price.
My old ‘92 900 felt so much quicker than it’s 9 second 0-60 time would suggest!
It probably did. My 900i 16 does it in 8.8 and my aero in 6,8

9000 на відео має бути аеро з кпп фм 57 на якій при 6000 на 2 швидкості 120 км/год. А по факту там фм 53 стоїть.
looks like someone didn't do their research correctly.
i know that logo was inspired by scania lmfao
Company was called Saab Scania. They were "related"
That's because they were the same company..
U wrong
Do Escalade
The c900 boosted like a 160hp.
The og900 driver didn’t know how to drive
Now do 100-200 >:)
