Fragrances getting discontinued is real pain! My one and only all time favorite is Armani Code Satin (and this scent has litterally NOTHING to do with the original Armani Code scent). All of a sudden it got discontinued (like quite all Georgio Armani perfumes do) and that was reall pain... I could never Ever find a scent that would replace it; it's a sweet winter slightly spicy fragrance, and the touch of ginger makes it unique. At least I have 1 unopened bottle, and I think it will remain unopened forever :(
I remember! I saw one last bottle in the store and didn't buy it because I wasn't aware at the time that it was discontinued 😣 lucky you!
You have terrific good fortune. I'm most envious. To find out that something special is being discontinued and have enough time to stock up...oh I am envious. 2020 and 2021 were real BUMPER years for me, in terms of mass discontinuation of most of my favourite finds, things I'd hunted for and spent real effort in finding. It felt like dominoes, one after another they all fell. And when I emailed the companies directly to find out how I could order 'back up supplies', I discovered they were already out of stock. You are so on the pulse, I think it's terrific. Also, all customer data which these places harvest really ought to be put to noble use sometimes: the system ought to flag loyal purchasers of certain items and give THEM priority warnings to 'stock up' as their favourite shower gel, foundation or fragrance is soon to be discontinued. I'd have appreciated that. Channels like yours are a great place to turn to for new introductions to replacement 'loves'. Thank you!
I really love Datura Noir! I also love Serge Lutens! SL was my introduction to non-mainstream perfumes and the gateway drug for my foray into niche perfumes.
Yes! I would love for you to do a Serge Lutens video ❤️. I own two, and feel they are the most elegant and different smelling perfumes in my collection. I would like to explore more from the house.

Btw, I don’t have many back ups: Oud Bouquet(original formulation), Alai, Queen Latifah - red bottle, discontinued, Madonna Truth or Dare & Naked.
The pain of fragrances getting discontinued is real! Right now I only have backups for Elizabeth & James Nirvana Amethyst because it works so well with my body chemistry and my spidey senses tingled big time when they disappeared from Sephora. I don't have anything else that I feel is in danger of being discontinued but am keeping a close watch on faves in case I need to stock up. Also, in case you haven't yet seen, Lisa's cosmetics online has Serge Lutens right now. Thought I'd mention it just in case!
I feel like I want to have a back up of Libre even though it surely won’t be discontinued anytime soon just because I love it so much haha! I just went though a whole bottle of the biggest size 90 ml. I have a brand new bottle of the intense version but the original Libre is my biggest love and just like you I won’t be breaking up with her for a long time 🥰
I don't currently have back ups, but I am considering to buy some bottles of YSL Cinema. It's a very simple perfume, but it reminds me of my teenage years, when I first discovered it. Also, it's not that hard to find for now, but I think it's only the matter of time. Also also, I demand more cat through the videos :D

I've just received Ange ou Demon Le Secret on the post and decided right away that I need a backup! What a lovely scent. My taste has changed, I see myself going for lighter floral fresh scents lately and even though autumn is here I still want to wear them instead of my heavier vanilla perfumes.

Hi! I just purchased my first Valentino Donna and it is, in fact, made outside of Spain - it now says made in France... I do absolutely love it and was actually influenced by you to try it! ☺️ Wish I could get my hands on an original version though so I can enjoy both scent profiles lol. 💜💜
I have a pretty large collection, so I try not to have backups. I do have a few though. I have a couple bottles of the old formulation of both Angel and Alien as well as an extra bottle of Alien Essence Absolu. Also have a back up of YSL Cinema, L'Impertrice (Couldn't pass up $15) and Girl of Now Shine (that darn $19.99 rack).

I have this idea of one day getting my collection down to my favorite seasonal scent and single notes(leather, tobacco, citrus...) So far I have backups of a few forever scents; Bottega Venta, Shalimar Cologne, amethyst by Elizabeth and James and Alien Absolute.
Yesss I’d love to see a Serge Lutens collection video! 😄I currently own two perfumes from them: ‘Un bois vanille’ - which I’m obssesed with, and ‘Five o’clock au gingembre’. Where I live I can’t find them in store to test them, so I’m curious about your Serge Lutens favs. xx
Great video. I was never particular about my perfume. I bought a few through the years, and was gifted many many more. There was this one perfume that I got as a gift for graduation from high school many many years ago that I barely used due to it’s sentimental value. I bought my first backup when I found a bottle of it on eBay. I also bought several now vintage perfumes that me or my mom used to wear all those years ago. Now as an adult I have favorites and would buy backups of my favorite perfumes or my childhood ones if I can find/afford them.
I just got a bottle of Datura Noir a couple weeks ago. Love it! It's now on my nightstand. 😉

The only backup I have is Zadig & Voltaire - This is Her. I adore this fragrance.
So far my only backups are Miss Dior 2017 version and Coco Mademoiselle (my husband just bought me a bottle for my birthday ) :)

I would love to get the Valentino Donna🥰 my perfume genre has a wide range, I like a little bit of everything lol I don’t like crisp clean perfumes though, reminds me of air freshener.
I have 3 backups of Lacoste pour femme and one backup or black platinum Banana républic ; two of Éclat d'arpège de Lauvin and one backup of Chloé nomade absolu. Two of them (Black Platinum and Nomade Absolu) is because of you and I love them so much.:-)
My partner went freaking crazy when I wore hypnotic poison (pre-form) last week…. I don’t even like gourmands but I NEED a back up before I can’t find it anywhere!
Oh that is adorable! To think of someone actually noticing and then vocally appreciating the fragrance their partner is wearing, I love it! I'd be curious to see what they'd think of Jeroboam's 'Insulo' if they loved Dior's 'Hypnotic Poison' on you. I don't think they're ready for that, POW! 🌋

I have a couple of backups but I don't think any of them are discontinued but a couple have been reformulated. I have about 4 backups of Christian LaCroix Rouge which was an Avon release, and for the longest time I couldn't find it anywhere. I also have Guerlain Terracotta, Samsara in the old red bottle, Creed Love in White, a couple of Shalimar Souffle de Parfums in the limited edition peacock bottle.
Valentino donna edp is my favorite for life.
I have back up bottles of 2 Mugler limited edition fragrances ... Angel Iced Star and Angel Eau Crossier 2019. I can't imagine summer without these 2 fragrances now.
I have backup bottles of Vert Malachite, Mrs . Dior 2017 flanker, Hypnotic Poison, Poison Girl eau d Parfum, Alien Essence Absolu, Tom Ford Vanille Fatale, Code Satin, Alien etc. I definitely found the latest version of Alien powdery in the drydown.

I have back ups of Armani Code Satin, Mugler Alien Essence Absolu, Armani Si Intense (black bottle) and Parfums de Marly Oajan. I have back ups of others but these are the ones that I could not do without.

@@malamaca174 I managed to buy my bottles from a trusted retailer in the UK a while ago before stocks depleted but I think your best bet would be to search on eBay.
The asking price is a bit high now but a good alternative is Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Essence de Parfum. It has a similar scent and may be more reasonably priced.

I’m also trying to buy the essence absolue. Crazy prices on eBay and everywhere I seem to check. My lifetime fragrance and I’ve been without this for soooooo long now. Am craving it . Might have to break down and buy I it …even though they have it marked so high right now.
My favorite perfume is Atelier Cologne Cafe Tuberosa, and it's already discontinued. I'm broke rn but as soon as I have the money I'm trying to get backups 😭 I don't want to live without it.
I don’t have tons of perfume yet but have been testing put decants, so far the ones I want to keep for life are: Byredo Rose of No Man’s Land, Alien, Jo Malone WSS (or a dupe), Chanel Chance EDP, My Burberry Blush, and Dior Poison Girl Edp (which i heard is going to be dscontinued 😭😱!) so I need to get the full bottles asap!

I don't have any backups but if there is one perfume which I am very sad because it is discontinued, is Sun di Gioia by Armani 😞 It was recomended to me by a salesman in Sephora. The way he presented it was very nice. He asked me if I know about this perfume, then took my hand and sprayed it on my wrist. That's how I ended up buying it. For me it is the perfect summer scent, it lasts pretty long on my skin and is not very common.
I’ve only been obsessed with perfume for 6 months so I don’t have a lot of back ups yet but I do have one. I have a back up of Mauboussin Histoire d’Eau because it’s discontinued and I found a tester for like $15. It’s a sort of dry, spiced, aromatic amber fragrance with a leather note. It makes me think of a beautiful old home full of antiques and lots of old books. I want more Alien Essence Absolue bc I just have a 10ml decant and I love it. I def want a back-up of of Givenchy Organza Indecence and I’ve been thinking of buying a back up of Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue Royale because I’m obsessed and I’m worried it might be discontinued. I also want to get a back up of Comme des Garçons Pharrell Williams Girl because it’s discontinued and my bf is blowing through my bottle. 😤
I did this with SunMoon and Stars. This fragrance does something naughty to my brain!
I have backups of kenzo flower l’elixir, and Giorgio Armani satin also Jean Paul Gautier essence.
I luv Terry Muggler perfumes Alien and Angel. So ofcourse I have back ups for both original formula not the reformulation.

"...or at least until I get sick of it." 😂 Yup. It's crazy how quickly prices are rising though, so at the very least, you can make a profit on an unopened bottle. Gotta thank you again for pointing me towards Lisa's pop up shop. Just recently picked up an old bottle of Opium pour Homme for a steal. They have a few Serge's for like 60 bucks too. Some great finds for the vigilant.

I keep checking… and you’re right …each time I check the price goes higher…..Might have to break down and buy it at the astronomical price…it’s that good. Why do fragrance houses do this? My most favorite signature scent was discontinued. Stella McCartney EDP. It's been devastating for me for year! Been looking for a dupe forever. Closet I've come is Juliette has a Gun Miss Charming. But it still doesn't totally replace it for me.
Lancome Miracle and Cinique Happy Heart. I'm thinking about trying something new.
