Getting stung by jellyfish feels like getting whipped in the forearms with an extension cord, and dealing with the pain of swollen welts. I have been stung 3 times, all the way from the forearm to the shoulder and part of the chest. As a result, I no longer swim in the ocean, particularly in water which is very warm.

I live in Florida and when I was younger I was in the ocean with my sister and some friends of hers and I got stung on the neck by a man-o-war. Better than a shark I guess since I live in the Shark Attack Capital of the World. 9 of us got stung.

I'm glad that she's going to be ok, but this proves that nature is not kind it's a beautiful siren that'll lure you to your death. Where ever you are if you're in the wild, or even wild adjacent be careful.

it's possible that it's protocol for removing someone from the beach that doesn't have spinal injury... but yeah when i saw them do that i was like uhhh there's gotta be a better way than this lmao

That's what I thought also. I wonder why they didn't use a gurney or stretcher for her since she couldn't feel her legs?

Looked to be a sandy area, gurney's don't like sand. Since she didn't have broken bones or traumatic injuries it was easier then getting a gurney down and trying to push it thru sand. They make beach capable wheel chairs but they have really big flotation tires.

To save time... She had no injuries other then the sting from the jelly fish so no harm in carrying her like that.

Gurney's wheel would burrow in the sand. They can get a board stretcher, but that would take time going back since she doesn't have any spinal injury or unconscious. It's faster to just hand carry.
