A lot of things about R Kelly are not true. Why would they say these things now and not when it actually happened. Gary glitter has great music but it's a shame about his personally life.

While I didn't like Rock Star, I loved a good chunk of their music and still think they deserve a retrospective review and I reckon many people will be pleasantly surprised

It’s not WatchMojo that qualified them on this list based on the editors personal opinion but rather the fact Coldplay and Nickelback have an abnormally large band of haters. Both are controversial in the real world even though I don’t think the hate it really deserved, at least on the level it currently exists, especially with regard to Coldplay. No matter how much you like them or thing their at least OK, lots of folks hate them wether truly deserved or not (remember it’s all subjective).
It doesn't take much work to find that section of the population who hate anything that is popular.

As understandable as it is, Kanye may be a slightly different case. You shouldn't mentioned whether you are medicated or not. Seeing as medicated bipolar obviously don't do anything anywhere near this level of crazy shit Kanye has done. But unmedicated bipolars, like Kanye do. So idk if it's too personal but are you uneducated? Also second point, Kanye isn't just bipolar he's also most likley got narcissistic personality disorder, which is linked with bipolar and sadly again, quite genetic in nature. Which can and does exasperate bipolar symptoms especially unmedicated bipolar. So it makes more sense to add this part of the context in, seeing as as someone who has bipolar relatives, who are also narcissistic. They pretty much act just like Kanye when they're off meds. Which makes me look at Kanye as a mental health problem. People would need a better argument to put against Kanye if they were going to make one than, them being bipolar and not acting like Kanye without adding the proper context

Creed should be on the list instead of Coldplay. Atleast Coldplay's earlier material was geniuinely enjoyable, while Creed was always this amalgamation of every cliche of post-grunge music.

R kelly is hated for a different reason, not for his music.

Cuz they're like a Wayne's World skit that just didn't hear Lorne Michaels repeatedly yelling cut. Their sound and style is Vietnam era. It's like they're a historical reenactment at the Smithsonian: they don't have a producer they have a curator.

@@christophermerlot3366 I'm in my 50s now and I listened to some 1970s Kiss albums recently. My expectations were low, probably a case of being brainwashed into thinking they're be terrible, but musically I don't see what the strong feelings are about either way. I didn't love them or hate them. I'd say I like it, to a degree. The hate they get seems like overly forced pompous snobbery, just pissing on something crass and popular for the sake of signaling your "superior" taste. Upbeat music is always seen as shallow compared to depressing music. That's why The Velvet Underground will always be cooler than Kiss despite the fact that The Velvet Underground wrote objectively bad music. Ace Frehley I will say is very underrated as a guitarist, and he was doing tapping before EVH. I play guitar and looking at some Kiss tabs they're harder to play than some might realize. A lot of Beatles and Led Zeppelin riffs are simpler than an average Kiss riff.
Okay that's the good points, the bad points are that none of them can sing well and the lyrics are typical cock rock cliches. After 1977 they're mostly meh. And Gene Simmons is a douche, but that shouldn't make you judge the music.

@@user-qb1sm3rk9r I' don't play guitar personally but do agree that generally simple riffs are the most fun and that Ace was good at those (no one but a weirdo walks around humming Yngvie Malmsteen). BTW Rik Emmitt from Triumph was also tapping before Eddie as well.

I like Limp bizkit. It's not high-art, but it's entertaining.

Fred Durst wants to be hated. As they say there's no such thing as bad publicity. Limp Bizkit is like dangling a lure for pretentious posers to take a bite- anyone who goes into the play acting of hating them gets caught in the act as far as I'm concerned.

I will defend Vanilla Ice to the end. You can 100% tell the difference between the sound of Ice Ice Baby and Under Pressure. After the first 3 notes, you can tell. Plus Ice Ice Baby is my favorite song ever!!!!

I didn't hate them, but I certainly wasn't a fan, mainly because I found their music dull and uninteresting.
My Top 10 List Would Include:
Vanilla Ice
Skrillex
Kevin Federline
Every single Hair/Glam Metal band (Especially Poison & Bon Jovi)
Limp Bizkit
Kanye West
Nicki Minaj
Fall Out Boy
Milli Vanilli
Nickelback
Kiss too, for the same reasons as hair/glam metal bands (not that they were an example of the genre, but they did have a strong influence on it due to their emphasis on placing image and spectacle over the music).
Even listening to their Nickelback argument, I still don’t get all the hate they get. Maybe I just don’t understand music
Coldplay's use of that particular piano arpeggio in "Clocks" forever ruined what used to be a standard one for keyboardists!
I like nickelback. They have some good songs. Not one of my favs but they’re a decent band. Were great live. Not sure why everyone hates them.

I agree with most of these (though I’m not familiar with some of these musicians which are the ones I’m unsure about.). Otherwise, I agree. Especially with Kanye, Chris Brown, Kid Rock, and Tekashi.
Rkelly should have been on here though. The fact he isn’t is a bit mindbloggling.
Also, Barry Manilow could have made this list, he has essentially become a punchline for sappy 1970s pop music. I notice this list heavily skews towards 21st century artists with few from the 1990s and earlier (e.g. Vanilla Ice).

If we are talking unjustified hate, I would have to say Madonna, Cher, Taylor Swift, and many other strong independent females should be on here. I've never heard of hate for Limp Bizkit like I have for those women.
